Nope, can't be Young either. How dare you suggest a player might in any way be responsible for the way he performs in games. Has to be the HC coach...fire that guy NOW. Surely La Tech has the money to buy him out and it s obvious it was a terrible hire, so fire the AD while you are at it! Obviously, this terrible HC has ruined a HOF college QB already! UNTfan23....sarcasm alert! LOL!

From what I have seen of Young thus far...yes, BB, should he get on the field cannot have this bd of a start to HS carrier. Better an unknown than one who has shown some less than stellar results to date. And, I am still not convinced on any level that Mac had any interest in signing Young at any time. But, I do hope young Mr. Young gets it together and has a successful career at La Tech (except, of ourselves, when he lines up against the Mean Green). He's a good kid and he's from Denton. So, lots to like in Scotty Young.

My thought as well would be to contact Nick Williams..he is really a great guy. If it cannot happen for this game as time is short, I feel that I could help facilitate this for a future home game this year. Just let me know. I'd bet money that Nick would be happy to help make this happen. Just let me know. I think this is a great idea and would be pleased to help any way that I can.

UNT 90 keeps changing the rules on the bet...actually it is $5000.00...and he said less than 10 games...now it's $50 to a certain scholarship and 10 or less. Ha! But, I'll just go along with his revisionist rules. And as to his theory proposed in this thread...pretty close to the most inane theory I have seen posted on GMG.Com EVER! Really reaching with that one...paranoia runs deep it seems. And, I believe we have less than 5 games against D2 or lower schools. Are not some of those UNT90 are calling D2 or less actually D1schools for basketball? NT03....help us out with this. If there are 5 makes my bet look even smarter, but are not some still talking about our loss to a "lessor" division school last season? Man, you just can't please some folks. HeHe!

And, for the record.. I am no more happier with the OCC schedule line up than pretty much every one else here, but will not withdraw support for the team because of it. I guess that's the difference in approach. That's all it is.

Big surprise there. I will miss you, of course, and hope you might reconsider. But, your choice. Understand completely. Will look for you down the line and at the next GMG.com BB game if nothing else.

100% correct you are, and I believe the fans..actual bleed green fans...will come out to support the players on this team representing UNT. The "if you don't win or if you don't play who I think you should play or I won't come" folks.. Well not so much. Like I said, we'll see soon enough. I am looking forward to tip off.

I see you did not understand it all as well...drex is indicating the other 93% in the university, not just the athletic dept. I quote what he said as you seem to have missed this critical part, "those working at North Texas". AND, how many years ago was drex employed by the athletic dept.? You know, I worked for the VA some 40 years ago...guess that still makes me an expert on everything going on and what at least 93% of the folks working there now think at the VA these days, right? And...bottom line here is that drex knows full well that I am just pulling his chain. So, what lovely adjective can I find to describe you with? Always good to see folks using the 3rd grade name calling stuff. It is so mature, but does say something about those who use it as a tactic I suppose. I would say that making the comment that 93% of the folks working at UNT were of one mind on any issue is going a bit overboard...if you actually tried to understand instead of just wanting to get a gig in at me, then you would probably agree that such generalizations really have no basis in reality! But, that would take actually reading and trying to figure out that I was poking a bit of fun at my friend drex. My guess, he got it!

Ha Ha! LOL. There have only been two episodes...so being the "most depressing ever" is not based on much of an extended run! Have another cup of coffee and start getting taped up for the win over Ball State Saturday. It will make you feel much better.

Really thinking folks might just be pleasantly surprised at this year's edition of the men's team. We'll all see soon enough, right? Lots more effort being put in to the off-season training and workouts than in year's prior. Lots of group and individual stuff going on...hope it pays off. Team, at this point, seems much more together than at any time last year. That often is a good starting point if nothing else. We'll see, grasshopper, we will see. Keeping all fingers and toes crossed.

I know...if I believed this board I will be pretty darn lonely sitting in my pew watching those games. But, the green room will be easy to get into and to the chow and drink line if you guys are correct. I am hoping you are not...we'll see. All this time I believed the stuff people posted about "JUST WIN". Now I see we must win against certain teams, on certain days, with certain RPI's, who have been D-1 teams for an extended number of years, who will agree to play us in Denton, who will play us before a favored coach leaves to go elsewhere, etc., etc. Man, the rules here just keep getting harder and harder to figure out. I had just started to buy into the "JUST WIN" stuff and now all these new rule appear. Darn!

I know...you practically need a passport and a visa to get all the way from Allen to Denton. Pretty much a two day trek over lots of boarder crossings, right? Better fill up twice to make that trek. Hey, I love the fact that you have set this up, but it is one of the aspects of the UNT fan base that could use a bit of "re-adjustment" to think that Allen is a long long way from Denton and that the "big trek" from Allen to Denton is enough to keep our fans away. But, better to watch in Allen than not watch at all. So, progress is progress...maybe just maybe someday our fan base will actually care enough to drive all that way...all that way. I can only hope. It is also a 3PM game...not like they would get home at the crack of dawn Sunday or anything and they probably would not even have to spend the night in Denton to make that long drive home. I wonder what all those OSU fans living in Dallas and Denton are thinking about the drive to Stillwater Saturday, or the Aggies about to head out for College Station. I am thinking they wish they only had to make that long long haul all the way from Allen to Denton. Just dreaming the green kool-ad dream here, UNT 90 Grad...jsut dreaming...I definitely get where you are coming from with this, and once again, I applaud your continuing efforts to grow the base...need many more with your passion and drive and desire to help make things happen. Appreciate you more than you know!

Not again...another thread about "traditions". Ha! Sort of like the uniform thread...these zombies just keep coming back! Ha! We are nothing if not consistent with our threads! Carry on.

Yep...if you have NO LUGGAGE at all, and if you put nothing in the overhead and if you want nothing to eat OR drink, etc., etc. you are great with Spirit. Otherwise, I would avoid them like the plague. They serve a purpose and can be a low-cost way to get from place to place, and I would not worry about safety. BUT, they are FEE DRIVEN..so get ready for that. Often the fees...which can be high...well off-set the "low" cost one gets for the actual ticket. To me they are the world's best at bait and switch and hiding fees that the airline industry (all pretty good these days at that sort of thing) has ever produced! They put AA to shame with their fee tactics! All disclosed, as they say...but do you really read all that stuff? You will get there and get back just fine...but the warning to "pack light" is a really really good one. Do not say you were not warned.

FYI...rides on the Denton busses from rail to Apogee and to downtown square and back to rail, etc. are FREE Saturday to those wearing Mean green Green...or so the Denton paper said this morning! Nice job in coordinating this between the Athletic folks and Denton Transportation. You know...those folks in the Athletic Center who just sit around and never do anything as some like to harp on around here. Seriously, lots of things are being worked on for the better these days and lots of new positive initiatives are being worked on these days. All one has to do is look around and one can note the progress.

Trust me or not, but the BOR in no way believes RV is hurting either UNT athletics or its fans. Far from it. I know, hard for you to believe, but the job is not just wins and losses in football and men's basketball. As much as that might be important to you and me, the BOR sees a bit larger picture and knows more than a little more than you and me as to what they want the priorities to be right now. Things and priorities change...we'll see where it goes. But, you get nowhere keeping your stress levels up over this position of yours. Unless, of course, you enjoy self-mutilation.

Ok, let me make this easy for you...Because they believe RV to be doing a good job! The BOR obviously sees a bigger picture than some. But, you must be aware that contracts don't mean much in college athletics these days. So, keep beating the "fire RV" drum if it helps you feel better. It seems to be working, right?
