  1. I'm thinking Coach mac and Company knew what they were doing...but, I thought that from the very beginning in this QB circus. Too bad for him. I hope Scotty gets it together and has a great career at Tech. Sitting out does seem to hurt. Just ask our own BB.
  2. And the thought that came to my mind was..."wow...this conference USA thing is already yielding benefits to both our football and basketball recruiting". Guess its just a difference in perspective.
  3. Bark...bark...tree...tree.....
  4. Hey...for you, me, the nutty pirate and a ton of other folks this would be exactly correct. For Kilff Kingsbury, doubtful...remember those UNT coaches who left for their dream jobs? Dream jobs have a pull on folkks...no matter where located. I remind you that Baton Rouge is no great shakes...ever been there? This is Kingsbury's dream job. As long as he is successful in Lubbock, chances are more than good that he stays. Again, much like Gundy at OSU. And, I refer you to the part of his resume where it reflects that he played for Texas Tech (yes, in Lubbock) from 1998-2002. Guy is very familiar with what living in Lubbock is like. But, as you say...boatloads of cash can make a difference...for some folks.
  5. Some really interesting quotes from Combs in that article. Do you think he and his HS coach know more about the direction the team is headed under Coach Benford than the GMG.Com self-anointed experts? Could that be at all possible? Surely not. Maybe it's because he is not local and just isn't seeing the posts from our experts. Can you imagine that a current player helped recruit this kid? Maybe Coach Benford loaned him a suit. Sorry..just too easy and tons of fun. Please don't take offense...it's only a fan board and this stuff happens on all fan boards, right? And, I think I have it confirmed..this kid is not white. Emmitt had it wrong.
  6. What? This kid is white? I thought for sure he wasn't in the videos I saw here on GMG.Com. Are you sure you are talking about the same kid I am? Think he wears the same size suite as Coach Benford? Maybe those suits have a hidden pocket to keep "foreign" kid's Visas safe while they are at UNT. But, really, check out the videos. I really do not think he is white.
  7. How was the crowd?
  8. And, you felt compelled to add the first asinine part why? You know absolutely zero about me yet you choose to make that type of childish statement. Now, back to the original topic.....welcome aboard, Jeremy. Hope you enjoyed the long trip to Denton for your visit. You do realize that you committed to play for our head coach...that would be Coach Benford. I ask because some here have posted on numerous occasions that no good player would ever sign to play with UNT as long as he was our head coach. Can you confirm how many suits he has? Some here believe he has only five. Silly gooses. Everyone knows he has many more than that. Confirm?
  9. No way, P1....no way. Just don't understand the hypocrisy of some on here. But, having some fun keeping that line going for sure.
  10. Loving where this one is going...well done Coach Benford and Company...love getting these foreign players. Does he speak English yet? Hope the program didn't use up a ton of it's recruiting travel budget going after this kid. Has he got the Visa in hand yet? And....on another note...waiting for the usual subjects to knock this get somehow since he for some reason decided to play for Coach Benford and Company. You know, nobody would want to do that, right? Especially kids with choices and kids from so far away.
  11. Hey...how was the crowd tonight at the show? Really really hated to miss this one.
  12. Indeed...think that could be possible in men's basketball as well? In all seriousness...this is a testament to the work Mac and Company is doing to create a great team AND a great and positive reputation for UNT overall and the football program in particular. He knows, as do most of us, that most of these players end their competitive football careers at UNT, and will be professionals in something other than football. This shows respect for others, respect for the team, respect for UNT and personal respect. Great story. Very proud to be a member of the Mean Green Nation.
  13. See...you get +1's for this....I get it and smiled, what's the problem with the usual suspects? Obviously no sense of humor or just can't understand it...above their heads I guess. Well, played GreenP1.
  14. Edit: Oh, oh...THEY must be on...picked up a couple of quick -1's from folks who have no sense of humor I see. Hey...it's funny..other folks do this stuff all the time and folks think it is so very jolly. But, then there is always THOSE sort of folks. Oh, well...some got the joke. Too funny, but oh so predictable. LOL
  15. Too bad he's not a local kid.... Too much?
  16. So, got a little Mean Green respect at DFW on the way out last Friday, and it happened again on the return trip. As my wife and I boarded the bus to our car location, a guy says...so who was it that you guts played last Saturday? Georgia right? You guys gave them all they wanted and then some! Then the couple beside him starting talking about the game and all the good things they are hearing about UNT these days. Turns out they were all A&M grads...al about 55-60 years old. Really great to hear all this and the recognition and respect UNT is gaining around the area these days. Of course I was wearing UNT gear both going and coming. Of course... Good things are happening folks...if you don't see it you are not looking and not paying attention. Good stuff...great stuff!
  17. Proving it on the field where it counts. Well done...very well done Mr. Chancellor!
  18. Meaning? Don't recall seeing "depends" and KRAM ever used together. Dozer was just pulling my chain.
  19. Interesting piece in today's Dallas Morning News regarding limiting choice with Obamacare. Have yet to find anything positive about this massive mistake. All the folks who actually read and studied the bill BEFORE it was passed and signed into law predicted all that is now being seen as to costs, companies dropping coverage, cutting back on hours for employees, dropping coverage and forcing folks to the exchanges, the actual high costs for low income folks, etc., etc. Massive massive mistake, but hey, the Obama folks got to say "see, look what we did..,we love the people". Ha! Biggest screw job in the history of legislation and that is saying something.
  20. Man, you are a tad Kate with this. Did you even read the post, and even try to understand it? Doubtful from your response.
  21. Seriously, right? Thought I would be home earlier in the day and thought I was heading home on a Sunday...not a Monday. Ha! Hey, when one is "retired" what day it is loses a bit of significance. Cannot tell you how often I thought it was a Saturday, just to realize it was either a Thursday or Friday! Ha! Seriously, Joe! Funny, yes?
  22. Sent you a PM.
