  1. What reward would that be?
  2. Agree...Obamacare sort of does that to folks. I assume you were being a tad sarcastic with that comment. Lots of folks lost their positive outlook about where the country was headed about two weeks after Obama's first swearing in as Prez.
  3. Don't know about that "great city" part, but agree...wish Tulsa had stayed with CUSA. I think they will come to wish that as well. That AAC thing looks like a disaster waiting to happen, but doesn't matter. Just wish Tulsa would have stayed. Easy commute and school folks gave at least heard of...unlike several of out old Sunbelt foes.
  4. This series was done well, and represented UNT and the program well. Really. Interesting to see the locker room episodes and the back to back between the players. Hopefully, this program was seen by a wide audience. If so, it has been a real positive for the program. Hopefully, like Apogee, like CUSA and like all the games on TV this season, it will have a positive impact on recruiting and attendance. Much like the new winning attitude.
  5. Nice job...great idea. Love our new Student Alumni Association Group! The future is now!
  6. Looks like a pretty darn fair assessment of the situation. Pretty much hit the challenges right on the head. Answer those questions in a positive manner for the team, and it could be a pretty exciting season. Get 'email wrong, and "here we go again". New season, new challenges....it is going to be fun to watch. Ready to put last season in the rear view mirror.
  7. Very very doubtful...from what you have stated several times, you won't be "seeing" any games this next season.
  8. So...you are saying you can't just move on to the new season? Would rather just stick your head in the sand? Interesting.
  9. Because it does not in any way demonstrate support for the players and in no way sends the message you want sent actually sent to the AD. Want that message sent...pick up the phone, tell him in person...support the program. Staying away sends a different message entirely. Would hope that you...and others...would understand that. Maybe not. Like I said worth a try.
  10. HOF worthy statement, Sir. Pretty much sums it up in one statement. And can be applied to so many aspects of today's society. Not just the disaster of a piece of legislation that we know as Obamacare!
  11. Well, you did post in reply to my comment, but OK...thanks for clearing that up a bit. We can definitely agree that there is very little middle ground with some folks. Note the replies in my thread asking if we can't just move along toward a new season and support the team.
  12. So, looks like the answer is "no". Carry on. Thought it was worth a try.
  13. NOPE...WRONG...NEVER HAVE! And, since you feel the need to put me in that catagory...please go find any post of mine where I blame either Tony for "entirely" for last season's disaster. I have blamed both Tonys from time to time and place the responsibility for TM's actions squarely where HE placed them ... on his very broad shoulders. Ignoring anyone's actions and responsibilities relating to last season's disaster is silly. As I have stated...it was no ONE person's fault, but many share the responsibility...yep TM and TB alike. So, now, kind sir...go find that post of mine where I blamed either Tony for anything other than their own responsibilities and actions....I'm waiting....and especially the post where I said either was "entirely" responsible. Yes, I realize reading comprehension is hard for some folks, but that is no excuse for completely missing the boat.
  14. OK, can we just move along from last year's disaster of a season and look forward to the new one...please? Rehashing and rehashing the same crap does no good. No one here has shown any propensity for "moving" one way or the other on their opinions as related to last year. No amount of "new evidence", new information or new opinion is going to change anything. We have a new season with a new team of starters and what looks like a whole new attitude toward off season work and preparation. And, if "rumors" are to believed...much more of a together team than at any point last season. Why penalize these guys for what happened last season? Yes, some are the same "guys" from last season, but, again, reports coming out are that they are different in their approach and attitude this off season. Why? Don't know...don't care. Just care that it seems to be coming together more for these guys as a team. So, again, why penalize this year's team for last year's failure by withdrawing your support and boycotting games? Makes no sense to me, but OK if that's the way you want to go. Just how about we stop rehashing all the crap from last season? Everyone really has said all there is to say, so why screw up every new thread about good recruits, schedules, etc., etc. with last year's trash? Perhaps it is time to move along. Past is past...done...over. Let's see what happens this year, and then go from there. Could be a lot more fun and a lot more successful. We'll see, grasshopper, we'll see...won't we all?
  15. Hmmmmmmm...no! Taking personal responsibility for one's own actions is sort of a good thing. At least I think so. Seems so many people these days are always ready to blame someone else for their personal shortcomings. The "it's not my fault" attitude runs rampant in today's society. Heck, why take personal responsibility for anything...especially your own actions? At least Tony manned up to his mistakes and said so. He isn't "cuffed" to anything but the truth. If that is too hard to handle, then it might be best to think about changing behavior while there is still time. Lots of "blame" if that is the correct word for last season's failures both on and off the court that led to the disaster of a season. Anyone who blames any one individual for it is just dead wrong and so very short-sighted. Ridiculous to blame Tony or any other single individual...be it player or coach.
  16. Name one person who blames Mitchell entirely for last season's disaster. I have not seen that and have seen no one indicate as such. Mitchell "could" have played harder...he admitted as much...this "could" have led to others around him playing harder...sure, but this was in no way the one and only reason for last year's disaster on and off the court. Blaming Mitchell for it all is as inane as blaming Benford for it all. If you sit on either of these benches you are just refusing to see the whole picture that was last year's team.
  17. 31-14....IowaSt. With 10 min. To go! Tulsa has about 51 yards all second half! Bye bye Tulsa. Tulsa is definitely beatable...Mean Green can take it to these Tulsa guys!
  18. Why is anyone on a cell phone during a football game? No, really, that's a legit question. At the last game I spotted 10-12folks on their phones, texting or searching at the same time while UNT was on a TD drive! Can't, figure this out. Why go to a game and then just play with your phone?
  19. Yes...yes, you do! Victory shots anyone?
  20. But, how many suits does he own?
  21. What would I have to do to get you to stop this hash tag thing. The words "running something into the ground" come to mind. Just sayin.... Ok, and no fair brining up some of my recurring themes...not fair at all!
  22. Lots of locker room challenges last year on the men's team, but many folks here don't want to hear this sort of truth. In their minds the players are 100% blameless for the disaster of a season UNT had last year and were in no way responsible for their production. So, be very careful CaveCrew, you are stepping in dangerous territory here...truth is often dangerous as so many refuse to believe the truth in many cases. Don't know how this info is known to you, but there are others who can testify to your statements. Folks, it is what it is...and was what it was...a new season and new new team attitude is nearing. We have the Tip-Off event on Oct. 10th at the Super Pit. I challenge everyone to put their personal prejudices and opinions aside and come support this team starting with the tip-off event on the 10th at 7PM. These guys and coaches really have been working hard this off-season, and from early reports the team seems to be much...MUCH...more together right now than it EVER was last season. Last year is OVER...this year is upon us. A new year...good things possible and probable. Will you be there to support YOUR team? Hope so as i think it going to be much more fun this year to be at the Super Pit for the games. Just sayin....
  23. This I would agree with. Not saying he would go, but like LSU's Miles, and S Carolina's Old Ball a Coach, Saban does impress me more as a money whore of a coach than does a Kingsbury or a Gundy. Sort of like the Larry Brown of basketball. We know what they are, it just takes the right amount of money.
  24. Right there with ya! Great get. Wondering if Combs can help recruit some more players of his caliber for the Mean Green. Just going on the theory that good players like to play with other good players.
