Yes, Harry. You are 100% correct. Really bummed about this one...needed it bad! Proud the way the team did not give up after being down two scores, but really tired of these moral victory sort of things. Just must find a way to win on the road! Hard to win when you have to overcome a FG block returned for a TD and a pick six. Had to try to overcome both Tulane and ourselves. Couldn't do it in the end. This one did hurt! Beat Middle Tennessee!! Go Mean Green!

D-League seems in future for Detroit Pistons rookie Tony Mitchell
KRAM1 replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Basketball
Are there sides? I only see a certain few trying to claim folks blame only the players as if to justify their hate for Benford some how. I truly do not think there are "sides". There are a couple of folks who, for whatever reason, want to pit folks against each other. Serves no purpose, but it was the disaster of last season fueled by a number of causes that has allowed this to fester so long after the season ended. It is over...why a small minority want to keep rehashing the past is beyond me, and does seem counter productive. So, sides? Nope....a vocal, but loud minority perhaps. What folks don't seem to understand is that those of us who post here are the minority of fans...the passionate minority, but the minority. It's perhaps a bit arrogant to assume anyone here speaks for more than his/her own self. I think every soul here wishes Tony nothing but success going forward. Why not? He was and remains a member of the Mean Green family. So, let's all wish Tony nothing but success in the NBA, and let's all wish the Mean Green's Tony B success in getting the program righted in a wins and losses standpoint. Why wish anything else?- 15 replies

Think the Rangers are done?
KRAM1 replied to NT91's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
Didn't say 50 games was't enough. Show me where I said that...I said the Rangers were showing where they stand on the whole issue of PED's. And as to trying to win and taking risks....I'd play the guys who have been hitting somewhat decently against major league pitching on a regular basis rather than some guy who had not seen it in say...,50 games and a couple of months! Risk, you say? The risk WAS in playing Cruz...they played Cruz in the hopes they can sign him next season! If they wanted to win...well, go with Profar and Soto. Power or lack there of was not anywhere near the problem last night. Hits...singles, RBI's...getting on base was! Power worked well for Cruz and the Rangers last night, right? Trying to win, my rear end...trying to keep Cruz a Ranger more like it. Don't want to hack off your PED poster child in what may be the last game of the year, right? Cheating isn great for the games...as long as you win, right? I guess the Ranger brass think so! -
Super dome has a roof and they fixed the leaks! Who cares if it rains on Bourbon Street? After a couple of drinks you won't care...Party on Mean Green Nation. Let NO know you were there!

UNT women’s basketball team to be without three early in season

The big "A", huh? Twisted, but I like where you are going with this. Very high brow in a literary sense! -
Think the Rangers are done?
KRAM1 replied to NT91's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
Agree...and Rangers really made a statement...and not a very good one in my opinion...of what they think of the whole PED thing. Really sad...the guy went 0-fer! As expected after not seeing major league pitching in, what...say 50 games! Yep, let's crack down on drug fueled players in the dugout...well, unless you are the Rangers and think they might help you win a game! Sad! -

So, UNT90...is this the HC's fault? You know, because according to station UNT90 only HC's are held to any standards of behavior. You know, head coach is responsible for all behavior..both on and off the court. So, let's hear the spin from It'sUNT and it's all bad radio station UNT90 on this one. Tune in folks, the fantasy show is about to begin.....again! Hey, it's fun to poke the bear once in awhile...I'm on an airplane and bored! -

So, if you are a Major League Baseball player and/or fan, do you wonder if Hamilton's comment about not being a baseball town might just be correct? Here are the ratings when the Rangers went against the Cowboys Sunday...a MUST win game for the Rangers and just another early season game for the Cowboys.... Cowboys - 26.8 rating & 711,620 homes Rangers - 5.9 rating &156,663 homes The Cowboys out rated the Rangers 4.5 to 1. That's pretty darn significant in the TV world and in what area viewers seem to favor. That a gigantic difference, and gives me pause to wonder if Josh might have had a valid point. A must win game for the Rangers in order to secure at least one more game, and a so-so early season game for the Cowboys and there is this much separation between the size of the audience? It was noted that in the 1 hour and 45 min. That the Rangers bumped up against the Cowboys the Rangers pulled a 6.7 rating. The Cowboys peaked at 29.6 early in the 4th quarter. So, did Josh at least have a talking point? Still really happy the Rangers rid themselves of Hamilton, but does he not have at least a point about the area's sports preference?

UNT first day of hoops practice (video, notes, quotes)
KRAM1 replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Basketball
I find it hard to believe that the other person had a chance to say anything between all the complaints you were sharing about everything wrong with UNT basketball. All wrong all the time radio on station UNT90...tune in listen to folks rehash the past and then go out and drink yourself silly. LOL (even us old guys get that one) ... Really, we do. -

And people tend to post sarcastic comments like " how are they going to feed their kids" and think it is funny. Me, I don't think it funny or anything to joke around about. Having kids is serious business, and kids need positive and supportive parents. Probably the easiest situation to get into and the toughest one to handle for the next so many years. -

Well...If I had put up the amount of money Dickies had, I'd darn sure want my logos all over the thing. I see no problem with that. I believe the old Big Tex also had Dickies logos. -
I voted...come on folks...let's help UNT Cheer out! Takes no time and no effort...get this done! EDIT: Just tried to vote again as I voted a couple of days ago. Noted that the site said the promotion was over! Do we have the results as yet?

Really great guy. Too bad he lost the majority of the season to injury. His leadership was missed and will be missed this year. Jacob is the type of person and the type of player that is really good to have around younger players...and older ones too for that matter. Love that he has such pride in UNT. Great to see our student-athletes taking pride in their university. All the best of luck to you...Jacob.

Yes to Hooter's. They are the Athletic Dept's official game watching site. Don't know about any others as yet.

Think the Rangers are done?
KRAM1 replied to NT91's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
Josh just called...says he'll take you up on the bet...$100,000... He wants me to hold the money. Said his check was in the mail. Wants to know when I can expect yours? Told him I thought you were right, but he wants you to put up the cash anyway. Need my address? Or, I can just meet you at the game where you pay me the $500 for the bet we already have. It will still be the baseball off-season so that would still be good. Done deal? -

First coaching casualty of the season: Kiffbro.
KRAM1 replied to Christopher Walker's topic in Mean Green Football
Why? I would think that USC would be a high profile HC position and probably pays pretty darn well. It is a pretty storied program in spite of the issues Silver pointed out...heck, hard to pick out a biggie without some of those same issues or others similar. Sad statement, but pretty true within the ranks of the big boys.
