  1. Except, of course, that one play was a 10 point swing...you do the math. While I was not able to attend the game, I dare say my view of the play was actually better than yours...and, of course, the many replays I saw from various angles...so, let's say we missed the FG...we still win by plenty if that thing is not blocked and returned for 7 points after the XP. Chewing out, after the fact, does nothing to erase the points or change the fact that that one play resulted in a ten point swing. Yes, return has been good...so? How does that play into this discussion at all? Point is...offense did plenty enough to win the game. Defense did plenty enough to win the game. The breakdown was on special teams...and some pretty stupid penalties at some very wrong times. Anyway, done...over...loss in the books. Time to move on and beat Middle Tennessee! Nothing anyone can do about the Tulane game now!
  2. How does one commit when they don't have an offer? And if he is too frail to plat for UNT, how is it that the OU staff thinks he can play in the Big XII against the likes of Kansas, Kansas St. And Oklahoma a State? I don't understand...help me out here a bit...I don't follow recruiting like you guys do. This seems odd.
  3. [quote name="UNT90" post="761046" timestamp="1381103047" Wonder what the next dirty secret will be in April?
  4. True Dat! Puts the QB and the entire offense and offensive game plan in a very tough position when the opponent knows you have to pass and that when you run...well, not so much. Need to find a way to open more running lanes and to get the running game going. Was not aware that Tulane had so many LSU transfers playing last night. Must have something if LSU recruited and signed those guys.
  5. Yes, yes, he did.
  6. That could be a HOF post there Deep...having a hard time typing while I laugh! Well, played.
  7. Good post, except the part where the offense lost the game. Offense was not on the field for that blocked field goal which was a ten point swing. Take away that 3 points and UNT wins. Have no clue how anyone can blame the offense that put up 21 points...plenty to win w/o the blocked FG and return. Some of those "stupid penalties" were on the defense as well. But, neither the offense or defense lost this game....that honor might just go to special teams for that one very unfortunate play!
  8. Was talking about Georgia. The thread says "two game", thought it was obvious who I was talking about...sorry.
  9. Exactly correct, but haters gonna hate. No use trying to explain it to folks who have their minds already made up....closed minds are just that...closed.
  10. [quote name="outoftown" post="761014" timestamp="1381091577" Those quitting now, what are you gonna do should NT win against MTSU on saturday, which is very possible?
  11. I know GreenP1, and he is in "real life" a pretty cool and funny guy. And, a very loyal friend to many. Please do not think that how people here come across on the board are how they really are when they come out from behind these avatars that they hide behind. In person, GreenP1 is not at all what he seems to be on this board. I was, at one time, of the same mind as you might be, but I took the time to seek him out and get to know him...great guy! Sure, we disagree often on the board and I give him as hard a time as he gives me. But, that is "board stuff" only. So, don't judge too harshly from this board. Trust me...even UNT90 is not nearly as negative in person as he seems on this board...very supportive of UNT and a really good guy to be around. Sure, there are exceptions, but the vast majority of these folks are great fans of UNT and really fun and good people. Get to know them personally before you judge too harshly. True!
  12. One issue might be playing the number 9 team in the nation with NFL draft picks all across the D-line front.
  13. I'll be there too with my bride. Why not? It's my team and it is playing at home, and I am available to go. Nowhere else I would rather be Saturday evening than cheering for the Mean Green.
  14. This game turned on one play...a FG attempt blocked and run back for a TD by Tulane...that was a 10 point swing...UNT lost by three. I do not understand folks discussing the poor game plan, the poor play calling, etc. ONE PLAY...everthing UNT was able to overcome. If you have to play the blame game, one should at least place blame where it might be deserved...on one...ONE special teams breakdown that resulted in a 10 point swing. It is 100% understamndable that folks are more than a little disappointed in this loss. Pretty much a gut punch for me (like the Troy loss last year), but both offense and defense did enough to win this game, plays called were enough to win this game, QB did enough to win this game, penalties were terrible, but overcome....what WAS NOT OVERCOME was one play...a breakdown on special teams. That doesn't happen and all this "stuff" about Mac, DT, the play calling, the lack of a last stand by the defense, the penalties, etc. are all not even being discussed this morning.
  15. Well, no, but OK, if you feel better thinking you did. You kids, you kids...I keep forgetting that I have to keep it real simple and use one syllable words or the meaning just escapes. My bad. Mary had a little lamb...see Dick run, run Dick run. If I could I'd write it on a Big Chief lined tablet for you kiddies.
  16. Am I am as tired of your "holier than thou pseudo psychologist" crap...just avoid reading if you don't like what I post...you can do that here on GMG. I believe it is called ignore. You want to post a complete misreading of what I post fine, but don't get your panties in a wad when I call you on it. You are or have been a mod, right...figure it out. I know it is hard, just like reading comprehension sometimes. Get over yourself.
  17. Yep, and I think the offense got the team in position for that FG try, while special teams gave up the block and the return for six. Again, folks, offense is not a well oiled machine, and has some challenges including injuries in the O line, but the offense did not lose this game today. Offense brought it back to 21-21 AFTER the pick 6, the blocked FG for 6 and all the dumb penalties. All they could do was stand and watch as Tulane moved down to win late. But, look at the defense overall today...how many points did Tulane's offense score? I believe that answer is 10, so while the D gave up the final and winning 3 points, no one can say they did not do what they could to keep the Tulane offense from doing much damage. Again...UNT beat themselves with the blocked FG for 6/7, the pick 6/7 and the dumb penalties. This one hurts, and no one hurts more than the team and coaching staff. Beat Middle Tennessee...Go Mean Green!
  18. Missed the point, but glad you added it up correctly....defense did not give up 24 points. Defense gave up 10, which by my count is less than 21...special teams and a pick 6 accounted for the remaining 14, but maybe you were out buying peanuts when those events happened and missed the scores. I really think UNT needs to re-look at the degrees it awarded some of you guys. LOL! Never said UNT scored a total enough to win...read carefully, I said the offense did enough without the "team shooting itself in the foot" thing. I know, I know it's hard. They probably sell beer in the Dome, so your confusion is somewhat understandable.
  19. No UNT90 is not an idiot. I can think of a few other adjectives, but idiot would never be one of them. :-)
  20. Again, please read carefully...I believe Y'Barbo is a part of DT's offense....reading comprehension is so tough for some of you. Did you even take freshman English? I said DT's offense, not DT himself. You know there is a difference between reading words and actually comprehending what is said. Let me spell it out for you in perhaps third grade level stuff here....the offense did enough to win if it did not have to overcome special teams mistakes, it's own pick 6, dumb penalties and having to sit and watch Tulane March right down the field for the winning score. Comprehend now, Comrade?
  21. Ha! LOL...I live with a behavior analyst, I'll have her check me out. But, you are saying UNT needed more than 21 to win today? Seriously...did you watch the game? Blocked FG for a TD, Tulane marches right down the field for the winning FG and a pick 6. If you go back and re-read my original post you will see I said "DT's offense" did enough. I did not say DT did enough. I know reading is tough, but keep trying. In the mean time I'll get that check-up. Might I recommend a good remedial reading instructor for you?
  22. Agree that there are issues on offense, but 21 from the offense was enough to win the game today. Big issues I saw today were the lack of a running game on offense, some pretty dumb penalties, a blocked FG attempt for a TD and a pick 6.
  23. DT's offense accounted for 21 points...plenty to win the game without his, yes his, pick 6 and a FG blocked for a TD. TD was not on the field as Tulane marched right down the field with the clock running out to hit that winning FG. Just in case you forgot.
