Brett Vito: Student’s Twitter action heeds McCarney’s plan
KRAM1 replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
Thanks so much. I really do think you and your campaign made a positive difference. Appreciate you and every student who turned out for the game...yes, thanks to the alums and D fans as well, but when the students turn out the place is rockin' and electric! The student side is also the one the players, coaches and recruits see most of the game! Great, great job! Thank you for you most positive of efforts. It worked! -
So very appreciative you used the "wife and me".... The way people today use "and I" is pretty appalling. Good for you, Sir. Most of you know I also am a grad of OSU, but when the Mean Green play OSU it is a no brainier for me...Mean Green all the way...BUT OSU was a grad school for me....for Green59 it is a tougher call as Iowa was the undergrad school for both he and his wife. Undergrad usually wins your long-term alliance. We are happy that Green59 has adopted the Mean Green and is such a great fan. Similar case with smoothfresh who comes to u from KState. Appreciate both these guys who do more for the Mean Green than some of our own alums!

Now, this is something we can probably all agree on! LOL.

Right there with you on that possible Cotton Bowl match-up. What a great situation that would be with the Fry legacy being so important to both schools. IMO the best of possible match-ups.

Keeping fingers crossed...but it better not rain...too many Mean Green fair weather fans who scatter at even the thought of a bit of moisture. Still not giving up on the Rice game on Oct. 31st. I think having Rice in town and the fact that it is on Halloween Night will make for a nice crowd...sellout? Heck no! But I think 18,000 - 21,000 is more than possible. Heck, by then maybe even the students will know they get in free.
-
If you can't figure that out, there would be no use trying to explain it to you. Should I quote a few of the posts for you? Perspective, Sir, perspective.
-
Sure...I'll get you one with some of the $50 you pay me after you lose our bet! :-)
-
Precisely. Haters just gonna hate. Edit:See what I mean? LOL
-
Better than I thought.

Even after a great win at home...even after a win....sigh! Nice crowd, loud crowd, most into the game, most cheering the Mean Green...given a couple of our own "fans" booing the home team at times...super hard hitting, great O-line work, etc., etc. Mean Green is 3-3 and could easily be 4-3. So...all good this morning. Go Mean Green...go get that very elusive road win at La Tech next Saturday!

Let's hope for it to end THIS TIME!

Today's Dallas Morning News Metro section headlines...upper right above the fold: "UNT, UT consider Beer Sales"... So AGAIN, UNT is in the papers...this time the Dallas Morning News regarding its beer sales opportunity. I am sure that by letting this out the usuals suspects will try to make someone negative of it, but just so a little more of the facts are known...and for me it is a sensible decision....the decision has been placed on hold until a new president is seated. The current prez, who does not drink due to his personal beliefs, does not want to make the decision and immediately leave the results to a brand new prez. While I am not excited about this bit of delay, it makes perfect sense to me and if I were the incoming prez I would not want this dropped in my lap. I would want to be part of the discussions. Maybe this is one way that President Rawlins can help move this along without a bit of a challenge to his personal beliefs. I don't know as I have not spoken to the man about it, but it is a big decision...one A&M and Baylor do not want to deal with...and probably should be made with the new president on board. Makes sense from the university's standpoint. Definitely want the new prez to be behind this proposal, no one who might come in and stop it before it could really get started. OK, cue the usual suspects who will do all they can to shed a negative slant. You know..."only at UNT, passing the buck, SMU has a great AD and can make decisions...only except he hasn't...always slow on decisions at UNT, our AD can't get anything done". I hesitate to post updates as everyone knows it will only fire up the haters to spew some more of their venom. But, think about it folks...this is both sensible and appropriate. Not a decision to dump on the new guy as a already made deal...might even keep a great candidate or two from applying seeing that UNT's leaving administration slipped this in just before they left. Would rather have the new prez completely on board with this then one who would look to stop it before it proves itself a good move...which, of course, it will.

21K+. Per Brett Vito

Good luck...be careful what you wish for. I wish them both and you and your wife nothing but the best

Who were they playing? Nice stat line for T Mitch...congrats!
-
Agree. And, the D has room to be even better...really like what you pointed out...much much better tackling this year....making a bid G difference.
-
Over 300 yards rushing....excellent! This team really seemed to come out wanting to prove they could run the ball...and they darn ure did! And, against a decent MT front. Way to go O-line and well done running backs. Fun to watch. Now...go to La Tech next week and do the same thing with the same results. Got to get that road game monkey off your backs!
-
Funny...I see what you are doing! :-)

Was it?
