  1. Don't you have a brand new wee one? That wife of yours is a saint for sure....safe journey Pops! Weekend pass in hand.
  2. Trying to make Apogee a place of horrors for all opposing teams!
  3. Is Scotty starting?
  4. Sounds like your priorities are in pretty good order to me. Watching your young kids play soccer = priceless.
  5. Where you getting that info Christopher? "Absolutely" is a pretty strong word. Would make for pretty strong ties with the Alumni Association.
  6. That would be something special. If he doesn't want to be UNT's HC, might he be a pitching consultant for the Mean Green? I can hear the announcers now...."and another pitch blows the batter back after coming in high and tight"! "These Mean Green pitchers sure go after the opposing batters...just like their mentor Nolan Ryan". Be still my heart!
  7. Secretariat was all talk? Do you even know the history of that magnificent race horse? Secretariat is now playing in the middle for UNT? Seriously? Thought we were talking horses here?
  8. . Roger Franklin was on the team as was Nikko and Clarke and Jacob, etc., etc. again, you throw everyone in the same pot to try to prove your faulty line of reasoning. Ok, officially done with you in this area. You absolutely REFUSE to answer a direct question that might call your faulty stubborn reasoning to light. I have said in several posts that Benford definitely had a part to play in last season's disaster of a season...look it up if you will...but, you will not even answer a simple question posed to you on numerous occasions. I have never denied the role that Benford played. That is the fantasy position you seem to want to place everyone in who dares hold the players responsible for their own attitudes and actions. I think that fact from you here speaks volumes and is plenty enough for me to just drop it. We'll all see how it turns out soon enough.
  9. Seems to me that I recall Secretariat doing what it took to be a winner...in spite of what said horse did or did not think of the current trainer. Talking solely about horses and all. I also seem to recall Secretariat being a triple crown winner. What did those other horses win that sulked, pouted and thought only of their next bucket of oats? Talking about horses just like you.
  10. Too bad I cannot help you get rid of all the -1's folks gave you for this post. Did what I could. While I do not think Bataille is an "idiot", I definitely would not want another like her AT ALL. And, yes, Dr. Rawlins has done a great job and will be missed. In defense of Dr. Bataille (and trust me...defending her in any way is very challenging for me) change agents are often the ones who suffer the most for creating an atmosphere of change. And, if Bataille was nothing else, she was a change agent for UNT.
  11. Did you even read my post? Where did I say YOU criticized DT? However, DT has taken full responsibility for his play...talk about making things up to avoid answering a simple question. What will your next excuse for not answering be? And how will you next avoid an answer to a direct question? You really should be a liberal democrat...you seem to think people are not responsible for their own actions, you put words in other people's mouths and you never own up to anything. The references to real life are quite appropriate...seems you dodge them at every opportunity. Something perhaps about a stuck pig....once more you did not even venture an answer...so, let's try this again. At what age do you consider one in the least bit responsible for their own attitudes and actions? Try real hard to focus. This is perhaps the crux of the difference between us here...personal responsibility runs both ways from coaches to players from players to coaches...and yes, even on the mean streets of Arlington and FT. Worth...so, once more at what age, in your opinion, is one responsible for their own actions and attitudes?
  12. Ok, so you seem to think these young men are "children"....quite an amazing stab at justification in the first place...at what age in your opinion, is a person responsible for his/her own attitude and actions? I mean, you have seen lots of kids...you know the 18-21 variety of "kids" during your law enforcement career. So, at what age does one have a responsibility for their own actions and attitudes? Perhaps you can answer that and we will be able to figure you out on this a tad better.
  13. Not much of a surprise, but Nolan Ryan "retired" as Ranger CEO yesterday. Too bad, guy is a legend. Doubt he is stepping away from baseball, so What's next? Only Round Rock? Doubtful! Older son is prez of the Astros after all....Nolan says he is not joining Reid in Houston, but could he be enticed enough to do so?
  14. Love it CMJ...well played.
  15. Remind me again what a basketball scholarship full ride is worth...tuition, fees, books, housing, meals.... Here is another idea... Why don't we hold coaches AND players responsible for the roles they play and for the benefits they receive? Unique idea, huh? Seems to me that everyone on a team has some responsibility to handle their duties to the best of their abilities. Or is that only true for some folks?
  16. Greatness! LOL
  17. What? You didn't like it? I'm hurt....No seriously.
  18. Don't need any more than you need for SW. I regularly find American fares equal to SW on the routes where they compete and where I need to fly. SW has a great business model. It seems to work quite well for them. When I traveled for a living and was flying around Texas the traveling working folks called SW the "divorced parent airline" in the summer when every Friday and Sunday the planes were packed with "unaccompanied minors" heading out to see mom or dad for the weekend or their mandated two week summer trip! It was a zoo on SW during that time. Fun times!
  19. I heard the lib wanted to debate Sex, but got Sax instead. Silly lib! The guy thought babies came from DC and since the gov was shutdown he wanted to debate the usefulness of sex!
  20. May be the first thing you have posted in a great while that I can agree with! Ha!

    NE?

Blakeley? Always loved those back of chair signs Blakeley used. Did one for each season he was here I think. Used to sit just a few rows behind the team in those years with my wife, kids and parents. Great view of the "going ons" with Blakeley and the refs! Always wondered who no other coach has thought of doing something similar. Maybe this coach and team will. It was always great to go to the first game to witness the unveiling of the new sign for the year. Thanks for the memories!
  22. Indeed. Surprising that the same folks who believe basketball players are not responsible for their own performances and attitudes, jump all over football players when they believe they have underperformed or did I imagine those pre-season threads about DT?
  23. Wow...do you just sit behind that desk of yours and think up incorrect and misleading statements all day? Good grief. You are the master of crap-ola these days. Not even worth saying anything else...the thread would get locked if I did. The man crush continues! You really do need to get a new gig.
  24. Indeed, Christopher, indeed! Attitude and perspective goes a long way in helping to turn things around. This team just KNOWS it can be the team that started it all again for the Mean Green. Even the players seem to know they are different and special as a team...and a team they are. Note: Attitude, perspective and a ton of hard work that helps as well. Let's throw in a good dose of senior leadership as well.
