Great answer. But, man are you slow on the draw these days. Took you since Nov. 4th to come up with this line? You are slipping. I give you a +1 for it this time, but tardiness will no longer be tolerated!

Read it anyway you want. I know what I have posted and what I have said over and over again in private...including to none other than UNT90. You believe what you want. No way you are going to change your mind. Re-read the posts. Try to understand...OR NOT, but stop the crap-ola about folks, and especially me, blaming only the players. That's your game along with UNT90 and a few others. If you don't think players are in ANY way responsible for their play and actions both on and off the floor, well, please consider never having any kids of your own. :-) And, I will support each and every coach employed by UNT while they coach for this university. My support for this university is in no way contingent upon who is the HC, the AD or any other staff member. You play it your way, I'll play it mine, but don't try to tell me what I have posted and what I have said just so it fits your...or anyone else's personal agenda. My support is for this university and it is not conditioned upon personnel.

Homecoming Event Friday at Alumni Association Building
KRAM1 replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
Harry I might just kick you the next time I see you! TENT? Seriously? Everyone knows it's a Jiffy Lube! Get with the program! :-) In all seriousness, the UNT Alumni Pavilion is a great place to meet fellow alums during homecoming starting with tonight's bonfire...after, of course, you watch the Mean Green start the BB season 1-0 after beating Northwood. Tip-off is 5pm to accommodate the bonfire time. So, come to the game and just walk over the bridge to the Alumni Pavilion and enjoy the bonfire. It is going to be great! See you there! Both places.... -
Exactly this! The seniors we are losing are leaders. We will need new leadership to emerge...I fully expect it will. Question is....who will take on the responsibility? Will be exciting, fun and interesting to see who emerges next season. But, before we all go start debating next season...let's WIN OUT with this one and GO BOWLING! Beat UTEP!

Perhaps you can enlighten us all as to who these folks are that you refer to as placing no blame on the coach and/or AD. For me, I have consistently posted that the blame is shared, and I recall no poster placing 100% of the blame on the players. Perhaps you only read what you "think" is said. Would be pretty easy to name those who place ALL the blame on the coaching staff and AD so that is probably not needed. Waiting...... And, still waiting for you to enlighten us all as to what age you believe young men and women are in any way responsible for their own actions as you have consistently stated that 18-21 year olds are "just kids" and are in no way responsible for anything.

Stuff happens. It's how one deals with it that matters. Moving on...be part of the solution or part of the problem. Always a personal choice for these guys...and everyone else for that matter. Life. No answers.

You know...they say that if one takes that little blue pill and your business is still with you after four hours you probably should check with your doctor. Someone needs a referral bad! Seems like that hard just stays around no matter what the topic. Just sayin' that maybe it's time to lighten up a bit...life is usually so much more enjoyable that way for both you and those around you. Not mentioning any names mind you.

5:00pm tip has everything to do with homecoming activities. The bonfire is set to go about 7pm...the football team will attend the bonfire as will a ton of students and alums. Could not schedule this game up against the lighting of the homecoming bonfire. I agree that 5pm is not ideal, but considering the packed homecoming schedule, it pretty much had to be if there was to be a game on this Friday. One can debate the situation, but that is the answer. See you at the Super Pit, smoothfresh!

Does that go for basketball as well? Just asking...... :-) -
If so, they will have them ready about Dec. 6th. :-)

Wow...I actually think we agree! I had to look outside to see if the sky was falling or if we were being invaded by flying pigs...nope! Yep...good points Lt. -

But, DT's just a kid...and kids in sports are never responsible for their actions and performance, right? It has to be someone else's fault. Where have I heard that before? I know I have heard it somewhere. Just cannot recall right now. #get7 ...#get7againstUTEP...Go Mean Green...It's all fun when your team is winning! -

SI predicts NT to play Texas State...Please NO!
KRAM1 replied to SouthBendGreen's topic in Mean Green Football
Would there be an option for a 28 point win over a Big 10 school? I pick that one. -
Derek Thompson...an elephant in the room?
KRAM1 replied to meangreener's topic in Mean Green Football
Find it a little disconcerting that this topic continues to come up. DT has done exactly what a UNT QB should be doing...helping his team win games. UNT is 6-3. First time UNT has seen six wins since, what, 2004? As I recall, many here were of the mind "just win", and that nothing else matters. Seems to me DT and company have done just that. Is it now a "style show" instead of a "just win" situation? Seems the kid can't catch a break with some. Yes, mistakes matter...like dropped "sure" interceptions, like the DB's getting burned for long TD's by our opponents, like the 4-5 penalties from the last game, like the int's and like the fumbles and like the blocked field goal against Tulane. But what matters the most is does the team overcome the mistakes and win. Seems that six wins says the team is doing plenty to overcome its errors on BOTH sides of the ball. My only concern about DT is that he stay healthy the rest of the way. An injured DT could really really hurt. -
Anyone who thinks UNT is now a commuter school is simply not paying attention.

Really? Seems like the pretty standard early 50's stadium to me. I have been in many college stadiums built around that time and Fouts seemed pretty standard and more than adequate for UNT at the time. But...darn sure was a dump by the time Apogee came along...well, really...a dump for many years before Apogee came along, but a dump immediately when built? Doubtful. BTW...has the guy been back to see Apogee? Hope so. He will be delighted.

ESPN projection: Notre Dame vs. UNT in HODallas Bowl
KRAM1 replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
I saw them in that Cotton Bowl as well. Texas had Earl Campbell and was looking for a win. ND shut down Texas and took the win. The ND fans were obnoxious while the Texas fans were stunned. I believe there was a bit of icy weather as well just before the game, but game day was sunny...cool, but sunny. And, FYI...I was not a wee one at the time...just out of the Air Force a year or so and starting my banking career.- 61 replies

How did he do in the actual game? Playing the Celtics must have been a cool experience for Tony.

This. And, UNT has some quick guards. Let's hope it does work in UNT's favor.
