  1. Anybody catch the Wisconsin or Memphis games today? Two top 20 teams in some real challenges today.
  2. Prepare to be flabbergasted!
  3. Stories...we want stories. I recall some pretty good cop diary stuff from you back in the day. Surly you have a good one relating to LAN! Come on...make our day!
  4. That's pretty darn funny! But, as I recall from the news media, and from one good cop sent in to help clean up the mess, the Dallas Police have had some pretty significant 911 screw-ups. Including one that the folks, allegedly, claim was responsible for a family member death. Probably more likely a false claim, but made the papers. And, perhaps those actually responsible were not the ones who caught the public wrath and blame. Like I said...claimed. I make no comment as to its validity one way or the other as I was, thankfully, not party to any of that at all...but, using Dallas 911 to mock the ticket office is interesting. No one, allegedly, lost their life due to the ticket offices screw-ups. DPS is a big and diverse force that, given the situation, does a very fine job of protecting the citizens of Dallas. But, like all organizations, does screw it up from time to time as witnessed by the various cop firings and probations that seem to hit the papers on a somewhat regular basis. And, when police screw up, lives including those who wear the blue, are often at stake one way or the other. Tough to see much humor in that...even the mocking kind. But...it was pretty darn good...just wish the example was something other than the police.
  5. Talked to an "older" Aggie on the plane to San Diego on Dec. 26th. Guy said A&M has "no team". Said they were in total disarray and a mess. He wasn't hopeful of many wins this year...but also said...doesn't really matter as A&M is all about football....like all the Texas schools...he said! He was really positive about UNT's bowl and said we had the "real deal" in Coach Mac! Always amazes me how many folks I run into from various schools who know about Coach Mac and UNT these days. Makes one's Mean Green pride swell!
  6. Excellent...more rears in the seats...thanks for going the extra mile!
  7. That's some good stuff there Lt. Did you get any City of Dallas Employee to help you out with the free ticket thing?
  8. Ha! Agree...now this Is funny folks...situation reminds me of the "too many cooks in the stew" thing...or something like that! Good one Plumm!
  9. Happy you have confirmed this as well. Let's help our Mean a Green friends get their tickets so they don't have to do the will call thing. PM me if you want me to get your tickets for you at the Tower Club event. Give me a good contact number as well...will do what I can to help. Let's help out where we can folks!
  10. Again...from my call and discussion with RV himself at about 5pm -Dallas time -TICKETS WILL BE AVAILABLE to pick up at the New Year's Eve Tower Club Event! That directly from our AD! So, I'll take that as a fact and will be there to pick up GrayEagle's tickets for him. Anyone else need help? Happy to pick your tickets up as well as long as you will be attending the pre-game tailgate event before the game. Got to have a definite place to get them to you...simply cannot be having to look for you. I am not missing even 1 sec. Of this game! :-) Go Mean Green! Beat UNLV!
  11. GrayEagle...please check out your PM's and the message above this one...I WILL be able to help you out after all. Will pick up your tickets and have them for you at the Embarcadero tailgate event.. PM me for info. Beat UNLV
  12. Well...I made two calls...one to the ticket office as noted above...and then one to RV...well I emailed him and he asked me to give him a call...which I did! He said tickets WILL be available at the Tower Club Event on New Year's Eve...so GrayEagle...I WILL be able to pick up your tickets! Confusing, I know, but good results. I'll get them and have them for you at the tailgate at the Embarcadero Bldg on game day morning. Glad I could help you out. Will make sure to call if any future challenges arrive. But...good news!
  13. Sounds like a solid decision and in the interests of all parties concerned. Thanks for posting.
  14. Well, crap...I just called the ticket office to confirm what Harry posted earlier...all that has changed and I cannot help now. The ticket office Will not be open New Year's Eve morning...nor will tickets be available at the Tower Club Event. Was told ALL tickets at close of business on Monday the 30th (I am still in San Diego on the 30th) will be moved to the Omni Hotel Lobby. I cannot get there due to prior commitments. Is there anyone staying or heading to the Omni that might could help Jack out? Crap! What happened to the times and possibilities Harry posted? Geeeeeezzzzz.
  15. You know...I think I agree with you here. The "average" Joe could give it one shot and then just give up! But, the average Joe is not the one that has stopped going to BB games it seems as they would have no pre-conceived idea of how it "should be".... Vague folks probably don't read this board either and that's a darn good thing! Ha!
  16. I guess you can speak for yourself...would you stop buying season tickets because of some staff situation? Inquiring minds want to know and you can speak better for yourself that some vague reference to what "people" might or might not do. Me....I'd chalk it up to human error and go on down the road. Much more important things in life to be concerned about...you?
  17. Would that be you? If so, I'd like to relate my experience with the "kid at Kinko's" just this week. Doubtful you would want him handling ticket sales. Whole thing could not have been handled with less professionalism. Hope that guy wasn't you! :-)
  18. I see someone already made their choice....
  19. Darn sure hope so. Keeping fingers crossed. If not...then a different approach might need to be considered within staff. But, it is a learning process...let the learning begin and end this year. Let experience take over for next year's Mean Green Bowl game run-up.
  20. Correct you are...everyone has a choice in how they approach situations. And, it is a choice. Yours to make. Thanks for noticing...Ha!
  21. Excellent, Sir...excellent!
  22. Nope...what would make Coach Mac more likely to leave would be the continuance of empty seats at Apogee for home games. There is a pretty easy solution to that situation. But, like I've said before...everyone needs to learn how to win.
  23. Seems everyone needs to learn how to win....teams, fans and administration. Hopefully, this is the first of a long bowl run. Very few folks in the administration have ever experienced a bowl game and the fewer days between selection and games than in the past. Plus, the Mean Green fan base seems to be turning out in greater numbers than what our season experience would have indicated. Then, you add the Fed Ex fiasco.... Learning experiences all around for all concerned. Pretty darn bumpy road this time...let's hope next year brings another bowl and that the learning curve for everyone is not a steep one. Winning brings new challenges...at least they are associated with increased demand and increased support. The ticketing process seems to have broken down a good bit, but also seems folks are doing what they can to try to alleviate the situation. Looks like "all hands on deck" at the ticket office. Hopefully next year's bowl run-up for the Mean Green will go much more smoothly for all concerned. Learning to win is not easy it seems...
