UNT landed defensive tackle transfer Dan Kottman (SDSU/Guyer)
KRAM1 replied to Harry's topic in UNT Football Recruiting
Medical release maybe? Does that help any? But, I am guessing you are correct. Will have to sit out a year...most likely. Could give him a good year to learn the program...on and off the field as to what Mac expects, get the shoulders ready, and to perhaps bulk up ab little. But, sometimes, when guys sit out, they never seem to be quite the same after the long lay-off. Here's hoping all goes well for young Mr. Kottman. Love having another local kid with the Mean Green. Might even help open up that Guyer pipeline a tad more for UNT. Well, that and that nice Bowl victory and 9-4 season.- 28 replies

Former Guyer standout plans to enroll at UNT (will be updated)
KRAM1 replied to Harry's topic in UNT Football Recruiting
Interesting. Glad to have him, but wonder how his shoulders will hold up after the recent surgeries? Hope he is well, and can step in and provide some depth and help in the D-Line. Need some of these guys...bad! Hard to have too many defensive linemen.- 32 replies

Henry is a stud running back!
KRAM1 replied to KRAM1's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
Wow...sack/fumble...picked up by OU and run in for a TD to seal the win over Alabama! GREAT win for the Big XII over the Evil Empire! Ha! Really fun to watch as I had no horse in this race...just watching some great college football. Man, I love college football so much more than the pro game! Super stuff here. I hope lots of you folks got to watch this one? -
Watching the Sugar Bowl...Man, the Akabama running back, Henry, is one stud running back. And, did I get it right? He's a freshman? Wow! This kid, if he keeps going is definitely heading for Heisman candidacy. While I want OU to win this thing...yes, it might be one of the only times I would pull for OU, I just cannot fail to be impressed with Henry. OU fresh QB is doing pretty darn well too. Other than that great HOD Bowl win by UNT, this might be the best game natch-up so far. Anyone else watching? And, this in in this thread as it is in no way related to UNT.

Tony Mitchell meet your teammate Tony Mitchell
KRAM1 replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Basketball
Oh, I see...another case of hitting too close to home for some. The movie line "Truth? You want the truth? You can't handle the truth" comes to mind. My guess...none of those came from Harry, but just guessing of course. And, if I were a betting man...... -
You are pretty new here, right? Ha! :-)

What fight? You posted that you would have liked more pageantry. I just asked what you would have liked to have seen and gave an example of a game with lots of that pomp and circumstance. If you don't like honest questions and discussions get the heck off a discussion board. Talk about having a chip on your shoulder...get over yourself. And, who the hell said you were complaining? You have a guilty conscience or something? Grow up a bit and get that stick out of your rear end. No intent in my question other than to see what you would like to have seen! Talk about over reacting and jumping to conclusions. Geeeeezzzzzzz Louise! Grow up!

Football related, how? Could this not have been placed in the basketball thread from the very beginning? What was it you told me about the site rules recently? Ha! I think this qualifies as a " do as I say not as I do" moment. Ha! But..this is pretty cool. Maybe the two Mitchell's can teach each other a thing or two! What were the odds of something like this happening? -
Derek Thompson is a Mean Green Hero
KRAM1 replied to Mean Green 93-98's topic in Mean Green Football
What was the final score again? And, seems to me that 21 points were left on the field in the first half. Add those 21 points and it would be an even bigger rout! Dropped pick 6 Chop block call...was it a true chop block? Debatable! that negated a run to the 1 yard line (yes, I know...bad grammar). Time out call before a blocked FG run back for a TD (question...did the UNLV guys relax just a tad with the TO call?) Man, if the game plan held DT back, I hope it holds next year's QB as well leading to more big wins just like this one! -
You go? If you were there you would not be asking that question. You cannot see all the Mean Green fans there in that photo....obviously, as you cannot see the whole stadium...not even all of that one side. But, to answer your question more directly...YES...more than 30,000.

What would you have liked to have seen specifically? More pre-game pageantry other than just the two bands or what? I've been to the Army-Navy game...you want pre-game pomp and circumstance? Go to that game in person. Simply greatness! Loved every second of it...just like Zi did the Mean Green win in the HOD Bowl yesterday. What do you think HOD could have done to add to the pomp and circumstance?

Just cue the music with "How Do You Like Me Now", and recall the 9-4 record. Lots of years and teams and QB's between this year's 9-4 record and the last time we saw something anywhere near 9-4. Justify it any way you like, but DT was the QB of the 9-4 Bowl Champion Mean Green of 2013 (and one day of 2014). And, did I mention that he was Bowl MVP playing on a dislocated kneecap? Enough for me. I'll let history and the experts determine the rest! -
Good plan. Seems to have worked out pretty well too...and for 9 times out of 13 this year.

Plus one for you, Sir! Answer...I wish I did! Well, in my younger days that is...the old song line that "I ain't good as I once was, but I am good once as I always was" pretty much applies today! Just sayin.... I'll go edit that part! Great catch!

And...join the Alumni Association, right?

I think it was more the police who didn't know how to act! They seemed to want to create a problem out of something that was no problem at all. These guys probably aren't paid to think...just react. They got to get in some free licks on some kids! Fun times for all, right? But, let's be honest...what did one expect them to do? Just stand back and allow folks to rush the field in celebration? Heck, they may have trashed the Cotton Bowl or something ahead of the Cotton Bowl game....Oh, wait...that's at Jerry. world! Maybe Chief Brown needs to go...you know, can't coach his players to handle these really tough situations properly. It is his fault if his guys don't execute the game plan, right? Who the heck hired the guy in charge of this security detail of off-duty cops? Were they off-duty or is this on-duty work? Did they not go over this and how maybe to handle the situation should it happen? If so, and if these guys did not execute the plan the coach set out, well, coach's fault...fire the coach...err....head cop, Lt., Sgt. Or whomever, right? Because that's always the perfect solution. OK, sarcasm alert! Get it? Just joking around with a bit of irony.

Teen UNT fan traces Mean Green loyalty to his diaper days
KRAM1 replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
Great article...but, I can't believe they did not mention that Ian has also played in the GMG.com flag football game on more than one occasion! And, played mighty well I might add! Loved seeing this article. Scott and his family are great and loyal members of the Mean Green Nation. In fact, Scott was the guy who egged me on enough to create the GMG.com softball game! Great article...great young man...great Mean Green family! -
Excellent review of the events. I believe your reviews are spot on! I really enjoyed the events I was able to attend and believe our staffers have earned a few days of R&R for a job well done. BTW...I did get GrayEagle's tickets picked up and delivered them to him at the tailgate event! Was getting a tad worried after not being able to reach him prior to game day! Agree with you...seems all the tickets got delivered, and I did not witness any long and extended lines at will call, so maybe most folks got their tickets prior to game day. Next year will go smoother and the year after that and after that as the Mean Green makes it's annual bowl appearance going forward!

Indeed it did, Plumm, indeed it did! Great day to be part of the Mean Green Nation! Great seeing you as well... Now...go get something to eat! Let's not forget the important stuff!

If so, I hope CUSA makes the HOD Bowl it's #1 Bowl. Loved playing on New Year's Day at the historic Cotton Bowl where so many of our fans got to experience the greatness that is the Mean Green!
