  1. Save the date: January 18th - Sat. - Noon - UNT Alumni Center at Gateway The Denton Chapter of the UNT Alumni Association is hosting a pre-game tailgate event at the UNT Alumni Center before the women's basketball game against UTSA on Ja. 18th. Tailgate starts at NOON...tip-off for the game is 2PM. We will have hot dogs, chips, popcorn and beverages available...and, hopefully, a few special guests will be dropping by for a visit (more on this to come). Come out and help us support the UNT Women's Basketball team as they open home CUSA play at the Super Pit! The event is open to all...come on by and enjoy some pre-game refreshments and Mean Green fun! Hope to see lots of the regulars along with a lot of new faces...should be a great time! Go Mean Green...Beat UTSA!
  2. Should be a telling game. Deep end indeed. Would be really surprised if the good guys wearing green won this one, but it is possible depending upon which team shows up to play. Hopefully, we'll see a decent crowd of fans supporting the team in person. Especially all those who say they have stayed away due to the level of competition. Hope so at least. I believe Southern Miss should qualify as a "higher quality team", yes? Come on out...give the team a spark with a decent crowd as they come out of the tunnel.
  3. Don't care! Just enjoying the games. The two today were pretty darn good. The folks out here in San Diego are absolutely going nuts over their "Bolts". If I had to pick I'd go with either the a Saints or Broncos, but really don't care. Sort of fun watching these games with no dog in the hunt.
  4. Did you really read the post? I think you just skipped the main point regarding speculation. Ha!
  5. I'd love to play SMU anytime...annually if possible. Up or down years for either team...who cares? Would be a great atmosphere and do wonders for both team's attendance. Atmosphere would be great. Bring 'em on! I recall UNT stepping up and beating a lot of higher rated teams. SMU is certainly beatable, but, yes, probably the cream of the DFW crop this year. Fine...won't last forever. Seems I keep reading here a lot about how folks don't like this year's early schedule, so, why back off playing SMU?
  6. This just points out once again that what one coach does or does not do at one school is not a direct correlation to what might happen at their next stop. Also the "split" opinions once any coach leaves or is fired or hired. Good coaches at one school can just as easily crash at their next stop. Or, they can just as easily continue their record of success. You do the best you can given the circumstances at the time and make the best hire you can within the parameters given. Win some....lose some. UNT fans are pretty familiar with that concept. Thank goodness Mac is leading the Mean Green. Great hire for the Mean Green.
  7. I don't think Kitna has any eligibility left! :-)
  8. Speculation is good. But only speculation. No one knows what would have happened if that guy had played. UNT has had a few injuries as well. Should we speculate a couple of more wins if UNT had no injuries? So, 11 wins now...speculating of course? Does that mean I have already won the bet? :-)
  9. Could be right, but just when is a win "subpar"? A loss, now that's subpar. In past years the posters would be saying stuff like "well, the team just couldn't get excited to play these guys, but did what they needed to do to win". Now it's a subpar win. Interesting. Nine wins. Real party starts next week. We'll see then if wins are subpar or if there are anymore wins. I am looking forward to seeing some of our new conference mates come to the Super Pit. To me, so much more interesting match-ups than we had in the a Sunbelt. This CUSA thing is, to me, a really good thing.
  10. You go? :-)
  11. You get rolled because you are Houston! That's how!
  12. Win # 9 in the books. Going to start referring to these guys as the cardiac kids! That's four in a row I believe. Played down to the competition again it seems, but at least got the W. I'll darn sure take it!
  13. Thank you, Todd. Our staff does a great job with very limited resources. I never cease to be amazed at how hard these folk work and the hours they put in for our university and it's Alumni! Edit: Thanks, Christopher...just caught the UNT90 vs UNT 90 Grad thing. My mistake...thank you, Todd. But, am sure Mike was thinking the same thing, right?
  14. Embarcadero Bldg...just next to the Cotton Bowl. It was super fun and VERY well attended. Rudy's BBQ did breakfast tacos...band and cheer squad performed, etc. way cool. Advertised extensively prior to the game.
  15. Could me...or maybe it was me asking about win # 9. Come on Green! But in other news....Vandy just beat Houston in their bowl game! Cue Couger King! Ha!
  16. Hey...thought you would be at the men's BB game! Ha! Hey...check your PM's...sent you one this morning.
  17. Easy...you have been to several games. You know this is always possible! Ha! Keep fingers and toes crossed for a UNT run! Like...now!
  18. Oh, no...what happened? Tied at 58...ouch. Come on Mean Green!
  19. Are we looking at win #9? Could it be? Would this be four in a row if UNT wins it?
  20. Me....Apogee sellout for sure!
  21. Vandy 24 - Houston -0. 10:30 to play in the 3rd
  22. Please Tony...THERE....THERE.
  23. Only eight wins to date, right? Need 10.
  24. Don't think you have to worry about getting reservations anytime soon. :-)
