New Names on Offseason Workout Logs

Still injured. Yes, played in the bowl game but not on punts. Cannot go downfield as yet to cover punts. So, he played, yes, but only for extra points and field goal work. Getting better, but still limited. -
Yep....but I was only three in 1950....more like 1966 calling.

Watched the ladies lose today in the last second..now the men. Ouch! Hey, at least we had fun at the pre-game tailgate. Cold beer .... Cold free beer! And the dogs were pretty darn good too!

Funny, but I recall it too...those were the days when people actually talked to people and friends were people you actually knew on a first name and close basis...and actually interacted with them live and in person. Imagine actually having a meal with someone and actually having a conversation...without being interrupted by a cell phone or text? How strange, right? Ha!

GreenBat...like I have tried to say...OK. Lots of folks do, and I find nothing wrong with Twitter in general ... I just find following young boys and/or girls on it sort of creepy. Plus...what people tend to Tweet is often just an ego thing...especially for adolescents. It's like Facebook where people let you know they have checked in at this place or that...who the heck cares? Lots of "who cares" stuff. Anyway...no biggie, like I've said...I keep being told this is an opinion board..it's my opinion.

Have mentioned that I had a possible work around on the non-profit thing and suggested greenjoe and I sit down and chat.

Ok....enjoy "following" a bunch of teenage boys. Welcome to 2014. Different strokes for different folks I get it. I find it creepy...you don't...like I said...OK. Why you seem to want to make a big deal out of it is beyond me.

Thanks to those who came by the tailgate today. It was fun.....nice to have Coach Davis with us as well. Must do it again.

Wonder what these comments would be like if UNT was a member of the Big XII? Calm down, the sky is not falling and it won't make much difference in the long run...folks will adjust as they always have. Get over the fact that the NCAA is in any way a level playing field. There will always be that big boys vs the smaller guys thing. I seem to recall folks saying that the BCS system was going to destroy college football and that the little guys will never be able to field a good team. Seems that HOD bowl thing was pretty cool and pretty darn exciting.- 34 replies

No...big difference between watching and enjoying college football and Twitter. To even think there is a similariarity is telling.

I find something odd about adults following teenage boys on Twitter....I know, I know...recruiting and all that, but it just seems odd to me and maybe a tad creepy. These are teenagers, do we not have anything better to do than discuss some kid's tweet? Not ragging on anyone as I know it is a source of recruiting info...but often, as we have found, it is just some kid being a kid and has no real significant meaning to anyone other than the kid. Oh, well...signing day coming up soon. Let the Tweets flow....

Well, for me personally this is great news. Love having Coach Canales at UNT...great guy...great coach. That being said...if he wants it....I really hope he gets a HC gig. Love what he did as interim here between Dodge and Mac. This guy can coach, and will make some university a great HC when the right position at the right time is offered.

Good luck to the kid. Glad he got the offer. Sure hope his ego didn't get the best of him. Bigger faster and stronger in the Big XII than De Soto (and in CUSA). But, glad he has the chance to show someone what he can do. My prediction is that he will never see a down at QB on a consistent basis in the Big XII. But, definitely has the athletic ability to play other roles. But, that's now TCU's job to find out where best to play the kid.

Maybe at your dinner party! I rather enjoy discussing various personal strategies...as do many of my Friends and it is often a dinner topic discussion. But, our rule is...you play the "holier than thou" guy and you buy dessert for the table! Seems to have worked fine for the last 20 years or so. Different strokes for different folks as everyone has a different set of financial priorities due to age, experience, risk appetite, etc. But, our sports conversations and kid conversations and politics...now that gets interesting. ha! We stay way away from religion. If you knew the group you would know why...finance is much much safer! ha!

Not sure I can agree with you here. Most, and it has been proven, do not have the discipline to "invest the difference". This is the deal lots of insurance folks pitch...by term and invest the difference! Great idea...hardly ever followed. Most just buy the term and spend the difference. One can get a lower rate on a 15 year mortgage than they can a 30 year and the difference in total repay is quite significant. However, one needs to decide if they are "simply renting" their own home to themselves or actually looking to purchase the home. If you are buying your first home...it will probably not be your last home. So, really different dynamics in play regarding finances. So, the "one size fits all" solution is usually worthless for everyone. The decision on how to finance a home is actually a tad more complicated than most think. And, the options and parameters are pretty varied depending upon one's circumstances. BTW...calculate the total repayment on a thirty year mortgage and then do the same on one with a "slightly higher rate". Might surprise you...can be a pretty significant amount depending upon your definition of "slightly higher". Now, cash flow is critical as well. Household bills are paid by cash flow, so...it's a balance, right? Anyway, I love working through this sort of personal financial question. Done quite a bit of "financial counseling" for folks through the years. Pretty fun...if the subject is willing to actually listen.

Hmmmmmmm...we are now! Nice road win for the Mean Green over the "not so thundering herd" this evening! Win number 10 baby! -
Unless it is UNT, I don't give a darn where he ends up!
