Really happy personally and for the Mean Green, but I do think Coach Canales has earned a shot at being a HC. When the right opportunity comes for him, I hope he grabs it and has great success. Good guy, good coach...tons of experience and bottom line is, some school will ....WILL ... Be lucky to have him as their HC one of these days. In the meantime, love that you will still be part of the great Mean Green Nation, Coach.

I'll hold you to that. Will you allow it to be under the direction of the athletic department rather than the university? Just askin.... I hope you win! Well, if I don't...which in my case, is a near certainty.

Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, I rest my case.

Greenjoe was heading this up. He has stated that he cannot front the costs and I am too busy to step up and head this project. If you would like to step up and front the costs, I would be happy to help all I can. Entry fee is $500 if a 501©(3), and I told Joe I had a work around for that...float costs $1000 unless bus is used. Would probably need to set up some insurance for this for participants and the 501©(3) in case something happened to a participant, spectator, etc. I have no clue what that sort of thing might cost, but can't be too much. Parade may require proof of such insurance along with the entry app and fee. No clue, but needs to be checked. Am pretty sure entry instructions would have the required info. If you want to front it, PM me and we can discuss how the 501©(3) thing could work for us. But, the clock is ticking on then entry date deadline. Again, I have done a good bit of work on this already, so PM me if you would like to take this on for this year's event. I am happy to help.

Why not give it a try? It's a crap shoot anyway...might as well shoot.

This is a really nice win for the ladies and Coach Peterson. League leading and top national scorer plays for FIU, and the Mean Green handled that pretty darn well. Great to see them start a bit faster and then come back after losing the lead. Well done ladies, well done! On to FAU for road win number two this week!

Entry fee is $1000 unless you have verification of non-profit status.

If the tone of this thread is not enough to make a few folks take a step back I doubt any thread will. Like I have said here before, very difficult these days to have a real discussion about anything UNT basketball related. Too many just want to make it personal or all about the coach. One cannot even discuss players without the name calling starting up. Folks, really, time to take a breath and give it a rest. I think everyone pretty much where everyone stands. So, given that, how about we get back to basketball and allow again what used to be some pretty decent basketball discussions. There are differences of opinion on what's going on with the men's team these days...fine...simply opinions all. Let's get back to accepting opinions for what they are and start enjoying the ride again. I am not too sure such will happen, but let's just say I am hopeful.

Oldguy...$45 I believe, but no hill for a climber, right? All kidding aside...really appreciate your joining and then deciding to renew your membership. We need you more than you know as we do all our members. Just a couple of new initiatives we have started this year are our Young Professionals Group (in fact this group will host an event, featuring our new President next month in Dallas, and our new Speakers Bureau which will help provide speakers to area service clubs (Rotary, Kiwanis, Lions, etc.), Chambers of Commerce, civic Clubs, etc. all with the goal of spreading the word about UNT and setting up networking opportunity for UNT Alumni. Anyway...thanks so very much. Hope to see you at several Alumni events this year! PS...sent you a PM

Stop...For the love of God....please stop. When it gets down to ragging on one of the two best and knowledgeable basketball sources we have on this board, it has just gone too far. For the love of God....just stop!

Quit confusing UNT90 with facts...the story is so much more exciting when the facts are fabricated. :-) -
Dallas Morning News Headline on page 5C of sports section today... "Stars Continue Slide To Oblivion". So, tell me again why my post about the quick fall back was so incorrect and worthy of negativity. This is going to be a looooooooooong season for Stars fans, as they will most likely miss the playoffs...Again. Sad to see as the Stars are the home team, and even as I don't follow hockey closely, they are the home team and I love to see them be doing better. But, Stars fan or not, this team is not getting it done. Rudy, you keep blaming the players...since when, in your mind, are players responsible for anything? Odd.

Agree with you. But, if folks want them to stay open, maybe they should buy something. I saw, at the women's game, Saturday that they were closed...don't even know if they opened them at all, but it is hardly worth the time and effort to open them if no one buys anything. Sort of a chicken-egg thing I guess, and as previously stated...run by HS volunteer kids trying to earn some money for their school stuff...like orchestra, etc. Really does need a review. I think the concessions are run by the Super Pit folks and not athletics as athletics does not run/control the Super Pit (yes, that's a bit of a problem as well, but another story). More fans attending games would help. But, we all know that story.

Sometimes you just try too hard to be one of the "cool kids". About the third or fourth time you have sent one my way recently.

Don't know about the drinking team, but neither Chris nor Jordan seem to be moving with the quickness they appeared to have last season and Chris seems about 20 pounds heavier. I wonder if that is the result of the injury Chris suffered?

Yes...each half is 20 min. In length. Hey, Coach...how about rounding up a few players for us? We need several more. -

No problem with a draft IF the two coaches can be on line at the given time...many moving parts and time is an issue. So, happy to have a draft, but folks gave to be available. Your description of last year's teams is incorrect as is what might transpire if there us no draft this year. Would love to have CBL play, but that's up to him. He is not right around the corner from Denton as you know. If you know a way to get him here it would be great. Still need players.... -
Congrats, Johnny Q! You make the Mean Green Nation proud!
