  1. Great place. Not the best of locations, but who cares. You can find it and the food is definitely good.
  2. Hey, he graduated and is simply moving on with his life. Good for him. Really made Denton proud as a fantastic HS QB. All the best to Scotty going forward.
  3. Agree...that's the point. Thus...back off the "I am better than you" because thing. Agree Thor, agree.
  4. I wasn't aware that party lines still existed these days. Who is your service provider? :-)
  5. That young lady definitely has a screw or two loose...just sayin...
  6. I will answer...I took a draft physical in 1966....was about to fail it, but talked my way into a pass. Ended up serving as an Air Force officer during the Viet Nam era...'72-'75. Do I get pie? And, since I actually served...can I comment? Lots of similarities here in my opinion between the WWII build up with Nazi Germany. If one can't see the parallels they either don't want to or are just not wanting to admit it...yes, lots of differences as well, but remember the "Peace in Our Time" thing? Remember all the promises Germany made if the West would just give them the Sudatenland, Austria, etc.? How'd that work out for the Allies? And...talk about stretching it...if you are of the age to have taken a Viet Nam era draft physical you darn sure know or know of or knew folks who served in WWII. Knowing someone who served does not make one any sort of expert on serving during a time of conflict, nor does it give one any sort of unique insights. And, if one did not actually set foot in Viet Nam, it is doubtful they have any real perspective on what it was like to have done so. Just like those who fought in WWII, Korea, Desert Storm, etc., etc. it's personal. I really dislike it when folks get into this "served/didn't serve thing. UNT90 is correct in that sense...no body's business one way or the other...telling or not telling is a personal thing. I respect that position. And while I am proud to say "I served" others have every right to keep it to themselves. So, you guys carry on your back and forth, but let's back off the suggestion/inuendo that one is or is not "better" in their argument for having or having not actually served and how they might have served. Carry on...
  7. Folks, Rice is GOOD! This UZnT team exceeded expectations. It is very young and battled through some tough injuries early. The future is bright. Proud of how far this team got...did not expect this team to do as well as it did.
  8. Not untypical for spring soccer schedules, but darn sure sucks!
  9. What website are you talking about?
  10. Shep, best post I have read in some time. Really glad to read this, but even happier you get to attend with your Dad. I promise you, he is even happier. Go Mean Green!
  11. Tulsa fan base stepping up to make those sort of salary figures possible. Good for them.
  12. Congrats! Super news. Great photo as well....super cute kids all!
  13. Wow...but using that sort of language makes one look so very brilliant, right?
  14. This thread just makes me smile. HOF worthy. I don't think I have laughed this much in a long time. Can't believe Cooley dug this up, but great flu he did...the comic relief is awesome!
  15. Good to see. Nice article.
  16. Cannot thank you enough for these updates and info. Really good to hear we have landed a kid who seems to have the "can do-will do" make-up. We have lacked a bit of that attitude since losing Roger Franklin to graduation. Seems is can, indeed, fill a big hole for this team for next season. I am looking forward to seeing him play in person. Thanks...keep it coming.
  17. Congratulations on your Distinguished Young Alumni Award as well! It was a great evening Friday, and I was glad I got to know a tad more about you during the evening. And, you will see lots of ad ideas on here. Usually from folks who are not so much touting an ad, but just backhandedly knocking UNT's efforts. They never mention the neat stuff UNT does, just search the Internet to find something cool someone else has done to try to reflect upon UNT in a negative way. Heaven knows UNT could, however, use a good new ad campaign...university-wide. Always good to freshen things up from time to time. Could I interest you in a chat with our "branding folks" over in the administration? :-) Would love to chat with you (off-line of course) regarding some ideas for the Alumni Association. If you are willing, of course. You can certainly PM me here. Again, congratulations on your Distinguished Young Alumni Award. Well deserved and earned I might add.
  18. Happy Birthday to Green59...a great Mean Green fan and father to a super Mean Green footballer (and a very talented daughter as well I might add...kids must take after their Mom in the talent thing, right?). here's hoping that your day is a special one indeed. Thanks for all you do...and it is a good bit...in support of the Mean Green! Why Not North Texas! Victory Shots all the way around! Happy Birthday!!!!! Cheers!
  19. Seems like an ASU fan didn't do it, but rather just someone who dropped out of SDSU and wants to give the college experience another try. And, of course, has some cash to burn. Cool idea...good for ASU.
  20. Yes...and hand made by a member of the UNT Athletic Dept. Staff. Really nice job. Really talented seamstress! A prime example of going above and beyond what is required!
  21. Thank you. Well said.
  22. Who said that? If you are talking about my post...I indicated they had an all time best score for UNT....at least that's what I thought I said. Didn't mention anything about a national winning score. Hope everyone realizes that the UNT squad was competing against schools who provide full scholarships to their competitive Cheer Squads. Folks realize, I hope, that some universities have competitive squads and the squads who perform at the games, etc. that is...two completely different squads or teams. UNT's squad does both and without the benefit of scholarship support. Very proud of UNT's Cheer Squad. A bunch of talented students and dedicated team members.
  23. Nope...giving it to a friend who doesn't have the extra cash to buy one right now. Gonna be a surprise...I hope.
  24. Heard they had an all-time best score.
  25. I bought two sets. Glad I did. Yes, the "book" is more a program, but really enjoyed reading through it and watching the DVD. Great memories!
