  1. Or...people could simply be happy UNT won and not try to find reasons to be otherwise. Really nice crowd tonight too...maybe the best crowd of the year on a rainy Saturday night against Rice. Really nice adjustments made at halftime. Nice win for the Mean Green. Be happy about that. I've haven't seen enough of these win things this year...this was nice!
  2. Just be 18 or older...unless you have a parent playing...then just about any age...be willing to pay the $25 donation...male or female...and be willing to have a good time for a good cause. Basketball skills are helpful, but as we have seen in prior years not mandatory. Would be great if we could round up a few more players. The more the merrier and the more fun we will have.
  3. Excellent! Got you down.
  4. UPDATE! We have one referee now confirmed...Troy Kokjohn...former UNT great long-snapper...has agreed to be one of our referees once again! Thank you Troy! We could use two more referees for this mighty clash of BB Titans. If anyone would like to participate by refereeing...$25 will get you a swell referee shirt as well as the wonderful experience of refereeing some great Mean Green Nation members. Just let me know...frankly...no experience required (just like for our players). Need some help to pull this off folks....need players, referees, volunteers and donors! Anyone? It has grown a tad quiet on the GMG.Com BB front these days...sure would like to see some new participants step up in one form or another to help I sure a successful scholarship fundraiser for some great UNT student-athletes. You can come watch these students in action tonight as the Mean Green take on the Rice Owls at 7pm at the Super Pit! If you are out of town or other-wise cannot participate in person, a donation of any size would be very welcome, very much appreciated and would make a difference...a positive one! Please think about it...even $5 or $10 would mean a great deal. And, it is simple. You can use the PayPal link here on GMG.Com or you can send me a check payable to "UNT Athletics-Cheer Scolarship Fund". If you want to use the check option, just PM me for the address. Thanks in advance for your help and support.
  5. yep...I am sure that's the reason..... Ha!
  6. Yes....see you in the Green Room before the game. Thanks. Last day to sign-up has been previously posted, but it is the day before the player draft. Last day to sign up is: Saturday, Feb. 21st Player Draft is: Sunday, Feb. 22nd.
  7. Hit a free throw? When it counted? Sign him! Sign him now!
  8. And so it begins...endless possibilities...so, how's that AD doing at So Miss? Got any opinions on his possible job status? And, what about that new coach letting these kids play? You know, he is responsible, right? Just kids...came to play BB...who needs academics, right?
  9. Yes we are...and the reason this kid's ego is bigger than his talent is that he has gotten a pass on this "look at me, I am a superstar" crap his entire life. Kid needed some "tough love" long before now. Right now he's writing checks he can't cash. No one is wishing him I'll, just wishing he would think with his brain before he puts his mouth in motion. Too many people excuse 18 year old kids stupid behavior, yet the law considers them adults. Excusing bad behavior just because someone is 18 is one reason why they keep acting as they do. And, you bet...good luck to the kid...he'll need some when reality hits home soon
  10. Yep...and just wait until what he learns AFTER he signs. Big surprise in store for this kid. Pretty glad at this point UNT didn't offer. He'll land somewhere and learn really quick that he's not so special. Let's hope he gets over himself long enough to get a degree somewhere. Did his coaches not tell him anything about recruiting and how the process works? If they did his ego may have blocked his ears. Many many kids go on official visits and return without offers, or get offers but commit elsewhere. Where has this kid been that he did not know this simple truth about recruiting? He wants multiple offers so he can be the one saying "no thanks"? Well, too bad, UNT coaching staff beat you to it. Maybe the ego got in the way on the official visit?
  11. Well, it appears there is ZERO interest in adding this skills contest for the event. Thought it might get a few folks who don't want to actually play basketball for whatever reason a chance to participate this year. You know...bragging rights as being the very first GoMeanGreen.Com bag toss (or whatever you want to call it) champion. Alas...not so much. So, I will nix this if at least 6 (yes...only six now) do not sign up for this event by this coming Wednesday, Feb. 4th. So, if there is any interest at all, please use this thread to let me know. If you have questions you can PM me.
  12. Bump....sign-up deadline approaching and we could use a few more players. Think about supporting some great student-athletes with your participation in this event. You will be glad you did....remember, it's worth participating just to go to the after event party at Oak a Street this year. Players...please use, if you would, the pay pal link here in the BB thread to pay your $25 player fee. It would help a good bit. Many thanks.
  13. Correction....not supposed...are. Whenever baseball gets off the ground...hopefully soon.
  14. Just think of all the possibilities for you here to have something else to complain about. What fun! Heck, it certainly wouldn't matter if you actually knew what you were talking about or not. The possibilities here for you are simply endless. There in never any joy in Mudville for UNT90. But, the sky is always falling. Can't wait for the possibilities of prose you will bring.
  15. Kincaid's is fine, but it was much better back in the day when it was actually a working grocery store. Big difference between then and now. And Rodeo Goat is great for sure, but it is not fair at all to compare it to In and Out Burger or any of the other fast food chains. Might as well say Pappas Steakhouse is better than Golden Corral. Two entirely different animals in burger types....In and Out doesn't use goat cheese on burgers for one, nor are their patties hand formed or half as large. Rodeo Goat is one of a kind...thankfully...In and Out, while a very good fast food burger is not even in the same catagory of restaurant as Rodeo Goat.
  16. Not in the City of Denton. You need to get out more and actually learn something about the city you are trying to knock. If you think Denton is like Frisco, Plano, Allen, etc. or any of the master planned communities like Savannah, etc. you really are needing some "local" knowledge badly.
  17. Folks...remember...UT did not recruit Riley as a QB. UNT got him as a QB package with his Dad. Heck of an athlete who could have played several positions successfully at the D1level. It never hurts to recruit a talented athlete with potential to excel at various positions. This Dillman kid intrigues me, seems to intrigue the coaching staff as well, and for one, I am very pleased he will be suiting up for the Mean Green. Don't care where he plays...I'll leave that to the coaching staff. I just love the fact that it appears his upside is pretty big and that he's a smart kid willing to work. Welcome to the Mean Green young Mr. Dillman.
  18. Interesting tenor and tone of those posts in the full thread. Fairly reasonable responses. So, do they void any games?
  19. Sponsorship update! Folks...in addition to our main sponsor Oak Street and East Side, we have picked up two additional great sponsors.... Addison Transportation (a returning multi-year sponsor) and aztecskin! Both have agreed to help sponsor the game. Please please let them both know how much you appreciate their help and support. These folks make it happen for the Cheer Team scholarship and for our event. Thanks to both of these great Mean Green fans! You are very much appreciated!
  20. Agree with you...maybe that's why the invitation did not say anything about color of attire. You would think folks would consider that, but, to me, showing up is much more important than what you are wearing. Heck, wear cut off blue jean shorts and a sleeveless t-shirt if you want...just show up if you can.
  21. Yes....no question it does. I will be dressed probably the same and have for many of these events. Works very well.
  22. What? I thought illegal aliens already paid in state tuition rates in Texas! :-)
  23. RV has said many times that he gave Johnny five years to make it work....it did. Read into that what you will regarding year four.
