  1. Yep! Ha! Plus 1 for you, Sir!
  2. Let me ask you this Mr. law student...where did I make any reference to whether I thought it was a good idea or not? I am not expressing an opinion on that one way or the other. You might want to bone up on reading comprehension....being a law student and all. My comments related ONLY to those who were knocking the school because of its non-accreditation....and their obvious lack of knowledge regarding accredidation processes. If being what, a first year law student, makes you an expert on whether a law school should be opened or not and what focus it will or will not have, then so be it. Not my fight....don't care at all either way. But, I do believe that the proof will come after several years as to whether it was a good idea or not. But, feel free to express what opinion you wish. And,let's be clear...no where did I agree or disagree with your comments. You said you were the only one mentioning accredidation...I pointed you back to the thread where several folks had mentioned it. Then, you jump me for expressing opinions...which I did not express...on the validity of the law school itself. Reading comprehensiuon should not be that difficult...even for a first year law student. Where are you enrolled if not UNT? Baylor? SMU? Texas?
  3. You seen them play recently? They couldn't beat Denton High right now. Going through a really rough spot right now...plus one of their better players is out with a boot on her foot.
  4. Several folks...go back and read the thread.
  5. If you like the sauce...make it yourself...pretty much just Ketchup and mayo mixed together...add your own spices and BINGO! I like it, but pretty much mastered it at home in one try...
  6. Something no one mentioned....The Farmers Insurance Tournament at Torrey Pines has College Day on Saturday and the player/s shooting the day's lowest score wins $10,000 for their college. Well, Carlos Ortiz shot 68 on Saturday and made a bit of change for UNT with two others who matched his 68. Low score on Saturday! Well done Carlos! Go Mean Green....and thanks for helping UNT score a little cash as well.
  7. Do any of you people even know how law school accreditation is achieved? Appears not from your posts. Edit: I see that my comment hit too close to home for a lot of folks...and your reaction confirms the fact that many have no clue whatsoever regarding law school accreditation processes. It takes time and it takes being in operation...you do not open an "accredited law school" on day one people. To knock the law school as not being "accredited" is just plain ignorance...but Only at North Texas do we "eat our own" at any opportunity...why let facts get in the way? You people amaze me at times by your sheer capacity to find negatives in anything...anything & everthing associated with UNT in any way, and in your ability to attempy mightily to turn a "silk purse" into a "sow's ear". But...only at North Texas!

  9. So, after reading through this thread and seeing the typical angst and "the sky is falling" folks I thought I'd mention something on the bright side that no one else bothered to even mention. Without Smith in Spring ball, it will open up time for young Master Caleb Chumley at the QB position to allow the coaches to evaluate him as a QB which may not have happened with Smith in the Spring Ball mix. Too many QB's to give time to and only so much time. But, now Chumley, who is already enrolled and taking classes at UNT gets a full shot at QB...I remind you this kid is 6-6 and weighs 245 and can run. Saw him at the signing day event....every bit of that 6-6, 245. So now both Connor Means and Caleb Chumley will get plenty of opportunities to show what they are capable of in the QB position for UNT. Smith will be here in the fall...barring any unforeseen classroom struggles in the summer...and the final evaluations can be completed. Seems pretty OK if you want to look at the positive side for a change. I can definitely confirm that there are folks in the athletic dept that are happy to see Chumley get a good look....the kid was promised one.
  10. RV was there before it started (I talked to him about the video problems), he spoke early and answered several questions from the audience at the end. The person that said he wasn't there is either blind or did not actually attend themself or has no clue who RV is. No way you could miss seeing him there. Where this stuff comes from and why folks post this garbage as fact is beyond comprehension. Way way to easy to check the facts before posting. But...only at North Texas!
  11. Yep...and offensive side is just as bad. The defense has been very very good...if they could shoot at all, we would be seeing a much different result. Traveling and turnovers seem to be part of the women's game...now, I do not recall seven Mean Green traveling calls in the first half of any game...which one was it? Could be for sure....it's a part of the women's game...even at the highest levels of women's BB. Just don't understand it. And...that hitting the bottom of the rim on lay ups thing! Yikes! This team cannot shoot and are now passing up open shots...looks like a golfer with the yips! At least you have a sample of 1/2 of one game on which you judge...most talking about the team don't even have that.
  12. Good news. George earned it! Congratulations.
  13. Hmmm. Say what you want. I was not discrediting or supporting anyone...unlike you...you admit you were not there. SO fact is...you don't know the roles everyone played. I am guessing it is somewhere in the middle, you you seem so biased to one position it's hard for you to see that. No problem...enjoy your position of discrediting folks and pumping up others...since you were not there and all. Bias is tough to break through as you clearly reflect, but, you are definitely not alone in your bias. The truth will forever be speculated upon by those who were not there. Fun and games continue.
  14. Oh, Oh...blink, blink.
  15. You there on the inside Silver? Your sure the SGA did all the work because you were there?
  16. Funny...a thread discussing women's basketball and somehow it becomes yet another discussion of Coach Benford. Some folks seem to be fixated on Coach Benford. Man crushes perhaps.....from afar of course.
  17. Now, that's pretty funny. Good one. But, tell me. How many games gave you watched them play in person? If you have watched any in person, tell me where my assessment is off base in any way? Serious question. You do seem pretty familiar with how participation trophies are handled. Did you always get a pizza party?
  18. From strictly a won-loss perspective perhaps so. But, I have witnessed a lot of women's basketball in person at UNT, and this team is nowhere near the worst when it comes to effort and heart. These ladies can flat out play defense. It is the very puzzling fact that, for whatever reason, they have forgotten how to shoot the ball that has them stuck in this won-loss situation. It has gotten into their heads like a golfer with the yips! They are so psyched out with their shooting that they are passing up open shots. If the shooting touch ever comes back, it is possible this team could go on a season end run, make the tourney and then see what happens. But, if they continue to shoot as poorly as they are...I am talking about missing open lay ups as well as jumpers and threes...it is THAT bad from an offensive standpoint for these ladies...it is also possible that they do not win another game this season. Win or lose, i will continue to go watch them play...why? Because their is no quit in this group of stuedent-athletes. Really a shame how the season has tirned out...if only the shooting touch had been there early on. Oh, well, it wasn't and the rest, as they say, is now history.
  19. Pressured? I would call it a little gentle "arm twisting". Knew I could count on you...always can! Thanks. Got you down for a medium! By the way...welcome back as a player. You took a year off, but came to watch the action...knew you really wanted to nail a few three's!
  20. Cannot thank you enough for volunteering to help. You are both very much appreciated and very much needed. Thank you Sir! Good seeing you at the radio Show today as well...nice crowd too I thought. Hearing from Coach Evans is always good as was the time hearing from T J Taylor.
  21. Just a reminder to our players to list their playing bios here for the player draft on Feb. 22nd. Feel free to list stuff like. Height, weight, playing experience (or not), etc. anything you think might help our coaches. Thanks.
  22. Will be determined by a coin toss during the player draft.
  23. Same things when JJ was coaching and Blakely, etc., etc. Little dribblers and youth sports teams have been common fare now for several years. I am thinking the concession folks are pretty happy about these kids coming. Ha! So, the fact that attendance is growing is a good thing. I don't recall folks discounting attendance due to half-time participants and sponsors when others were coaching. It is nice to see attendance growing...period! These guys are playing hard and really seem to like the bigger crowds. Perhaps we should look at the nice attendance figures the last two-three games and be happy about that. I have had "new" people sitting around me for each of the last three home games. Last night a guy brought several jr high aged kids. Nice to see.
  24. Appreciate it...many thanks for the help.
