GREEN TEAM Andrew - Coach THOR Gene R. Morely BenGooding aztecskin Greendylan UNTFan23 mean_Green_09 meangreenacct That_Guy_Arlo WHITE TEAM UNT90 - Coach Rico GMG24 meangreencoach2 smoothfresh Emmitt01 UNTAlum.Com forevereagle Vince Jay V. Brian B. Juice My thanks to Andrew and UNT90 for taking time out today to jump into the chat room for the player draft. Teams look pretty even on paper to me. Should be a good match-up. Hope folks will come out on Sunday, March 8th at 2PM to support these guys and to participate in the event...there will be a silent auction, a half-time half court 50/50 shot contest, concessions available, Cheer Squad members participating and Mean Green players dropping by as well. Come on out and enjoy the fun...maybe make a donation, but a soft drink, water, candy, etc. It all helps some great UNT Cheer Squaqd members who get no scholarship funds and who work at their sport as hard as any of our other athelets do to make UNT sporting events a great time for all. Hope to see you on the 8th. Thanks again to our volunteer coaches! Go Mean Green!

Petty? I don't know about that...what seems petty to me is all the continued harping on the HC and AD in every single thread...created for any odd discussion...and then having pretty much zero to say during a four game win streak...sort of like praising a softball coach...hired by the same AD that the folks bitch about hiring the HC in basketball. THAT seems petty to me and very hypocritical. But, only at North Texas, right? For me, I am just glad all the haters have been fairly quiet for this four game win streak. Such a blessing to not have to see all the hate spewing for a few games. But, never fear...they will be back loud as ever should the team lose a game. You can bank on that...petty that it is of course. But, it is such a comfort knowing they all support the players from afar.

Isn't that four in a row for the men? Nice road win...seem to be playing the best at the right time. Here's hoping it continues right on through the conference tournament. Nicely done guys!

Meanwhile....Back At 90 Feet of Heat II Fieldhouse..

Ladies win second in a row at home. Nice margin of victory in both as well. Ladies beginning to actually shoot the ball better and hit about 87% from the charity stripe today...or something like that. With the Rice loss today, UNT has a game up on the Owls for the tournament. Nice win ladies...enjoy it! Glad I got to see both these wins in person...fun games for UNT fans. -
UH BOR chair has nuts... really stupid though.

NT Daily: University officials looking to upgrade Super Pit
KRAM1 replied to James329's topic in Mean Green Basketball
Yep...the guy was maybe 50 ft from the sign as well and facing it. And, it seems...no matter how big and "arena looking" your arena is, someone will always miss it.- 107 replies

NT Daily: University officials looking to upgrade Super Pit
KRAM1 replied to James329's topic in Mean Green Basketball
Believe it or not...just this evening at about 5:45pm...still plenty of light outside....as I was walking across the street to the Super Pit from the Fouts parking lot to go to the Green Room before the women's game this evening a guy in a pick up stops me and the driver asks me where the basketball arena was. He was on the street looking right at it and did not know where it was! Seriously...and the guy was going to the game. Saw him at the game later...I think he was there as a friend of the lady who sang the National Antham before the game and just stayed for the game. So, yep...seems the Super Pit....as big as it is....is not easily seen by some folks. Yes, really odd...what the heck did that guy think that big building sitting there was? But, seems to indicate that Coach Benford's comment might not be that far off base. Odd, yes, but true story. I was pretty shocked with the question.- 107 replies

Nice road win for the men. Voss had a big game as did Harris and Combs! Nice team effort tonight. Paid off with a nice win.

I'm good with it...would never have a problem being anywhere with UNT90. Anyone who thinks that would be a problem for some reason are just flat wrong. He may be fixated on TB and RV, but most of what he does here is to simply get folks riled up, and then sit back and enjoy the carnage. Many of his best postings are done while sitting on the crapper as well....come on, how appropriate is that? Priceless! Want to meet the guy? Want to find out who he really is? You know, actually meet him and chat with him? Come to the 5th Annual GMG.Com fund-raiser BB game on March 8th...2pm tip....he will be there supporting UNT and coaching his team...you know actually doing more than talking and posting on GMG.Com. He is always one of the first to sign-up. I can always...and that is always....count on UNT90 to be there to support and participate in these events. We won't get into those who never...that's never...support. So, come on....lock us in that room with those students. One thing we can guarantee...everyone will have a good time. Book it Danno!

We'll be playing with the same rules we have played with every year. With the possible...possible exception of adding a three point shot. This ain't the NBA! Coaches will get a set of rules at the game...up to them to explain them to their players. Both coaches have coached and played before so should be no confusion. Relax folks...you'll have a great time. Plus...don't forget...the after event will be at Oak Street! How great is that, right? Just ask Thor!
-
Absolutely Thor...you nailed it..,thanks. Keep it light here folks...it's all about the fun here.
-
Settle down there folks. Settle down. This game has nothing to do with Coach Benford. Nor, much to do with actual coaching or playing ability. Let it rest...it's all about having a little fun and raising a bit of change for some great student-athletes. We have plenty of other threads where other things can be discussed.

Hmmmmm...interesting juxtaposition in those quotes I have to admit...funny even my stalker troll can go back to 2013 to find that post. Oh, the brightness of lights...blink, blink. So, I guess I was being generous in 2013 or more harsh in 2015 after the results of her failed presidency really set in. So, who knows. Ha! But, let's be clear here...even for those who come Into the light from time to time, she was a disaster of a university president...no other university seems to have decided she would be a good fit, so now a consultant. Good for her. Probably a good spot for her as she is probably not supervising anyone else, responsible for any budgets and she can tell other people how they should do things even though she failed at doing those things when given the opportunity. Look, my opinion...anyone who thought she was wonderful, well, good for them. She was an disaster while at UNT and screwed lots of stuff and lots of people big time. And, I might add...ignored the budget problems that continued during her watch. But, a change agent she was. And set the stage for Dr. Smatresk. So, give her that. Best thing Jackson ever did was to can her rear end after her little failed power play. I will forever be grateful for Chancellor Jackson in that regard.
-
Yep...not a college president. Lucky for every college in the United States!
-
Funny boy...problem is that I was saying similar things about 6 months after she got here to anyone that would listen. Like I said...she was a needed "change agent", but a total disaster as a college prez. Gee, what's she doing today?
-
Bataille was an idiot and did not last long. Perhaps the fact that she knew ZERO about the university she was leading had something to do with that fact. A very very poor president. Her only positive was that she was a "change agent" that woke up a lot of people and set the stage for the eventual hire of Dr. Smatresk. It was a great day when Jackson canned her...maybe the only really good thing Jackson has done for UNT since becomming Chancellor. I will forever be appreciative of the fact that he canned that idiot of a so-called university president!

Anyone who believes that UNT is today a communter school has no idea what they are talking about and very little to no knowledge of the campus today. Sad...it seems we have met the enemy and he is us in many cases. If our own grads inow so little about their school why should we expect any outsider to have any concept of the UNT od today? Even our brand new president has acknowledged the fact that UNT is in no way a "commuter school" and he has only been here for one year. So sad that even our own grads know so little of the school's culture these days. I guess...only at North Texas.

[quote name="UNT90" post="897958" timestamp="1423970857" I'm am glad for the kids that they have won back to back.
-
So glad I was there to see this finish. Amazing how some folks can't even be positive after a great comeback victory. These players will darn sure give you a heart attack, but just seems like they are finding ways to finish these games on their home court. Really poor student turnout. No excuse for that lack of support. But, their loss. Great comeback win. No quit in these guys. Home guys win! Thanks guys!

And what if you are on the same team?
