  1. Childish...grow up! Try having a little class and self respect. Sad.
  2. And, I agree with you 100%. Howeve, that doesn't mean that from LA a great BB mind would have any first hand knowledge of the inner workings of a certain tteM's chemistry...as evidenced by his comment that because Alzee got a lot of min. That it was any indication of team chemistry. For me, Courtland is tops in BB knowledge overall, just silly that he wants to claim knowledge of the team and members fromLA. That says nothing about the respect I have for his overall BB knowledge.
  3. About as funny as those living out of state or three counties away or never even coming to games claiming they know what's going on in any way with the team or program. Now, that really is funny. My money is on Fly if it comes to betting on a horse that actually knows what he is talking about regarding this team. But, carry on supporting from afar... It provides you with such insight.
  4. Agree...players now more accountable, team chemistry actually good, didn't hype the team and coaching seems to be much more solid as well. Looks like those mistakes are not being made again...
  5. A little surprised by your angst here Courtland as you are usually one of the more sane posters. But, you know I can totally see how you would know so much about what went on with the team on and off the court and the team chemistry being in Los Angeles and all. Yep...finger right on the pulse of the team for certain. Yep..lots of playing min. for Alzee...you are correct. That proves it right there folks and all this understanding coming to you from right around the corner Los Angeles. I was not referring to you BTW with the revisionist comment as you are usually pretty spot on with the comments, but claiming you know much about the Chemistry of the team is a tad stretch considering where you live. Anyway...flyonthe wall nailed it when he said lots of blame to go. Around for that team...Coaching, players, pre-season hype which so many bought into ( me included), etc. sometimes it just all comes together to be a bad bad year. Trying to blame just one element like so many here want to do is just silly and shows a complete lack of understanding. Time to put that year behind us all and get back to supporting this program and team. Dwelling on the past does no program any good.
  6. Just stop feeding the trolls. Their minds are made up and the truth just is too much for them to even try to comprehend and for some, revisionist history fits very nicely. Just stop. They can argue with themselves from afar as we never see them at the Super Oit anyway. Just let it go. Is it really worth trying?
  7. YES this....I nominate you official weatherman for the game!
  8. You know what? It's no use. He was there for ALMOST every game in 2012. He saw that magnificent effort being made. So, let's just all admit that he is the expert in his own mind and it's no use...lost cause with him. His mind is made up. No biggie. What we should all do is to just stop feeding the troll. Then he can argue with himself.
  9. Wow! You were there for ALMOST every game in 2012! Time for a gold watch.
  10. Keeping fingers crossed that the game is on....wonder if they will move it even earlier in the day to let ODU get out of town after they lose earlier? Best keep looking at the athletic dept. Web site....or here on GMG.Com. GMG.com seems to get the word about as fast as anyone. See you at the Super Pit .... Hopefully.
  11. Forget that...get yourself to the Super Pit!
  12. Settle down there Jethro and watch your mouth! My point was that it is not fair to compare a coach and his full body of work to a coach in his third year. What was JJ doing after his second year and into his third? I was there and we were not winning conference championships and going to the NCAA tourney yet. And folks like you were calling for his head! Nothing to do with where the two coaches started or who they started with. If you want a lame argument, look clearly in the mirror. Compare records after the same number of years...not toward the end of a long career when one was winning and going to championship games. You were probably not there in those early years for JJ ... If you were you probably started pouting like you are now and supporting the players from afar. my guess, you would have quickly abandoned ship and started bad mouthing JJ every chance you would get and would have been calling for RV to be fired for hiring him. Your faint praise after a five game win streak is very hypocritical of you...but only at North Texas I guess.
  13. Hey, I get it...you have a point, but how many conference championship games and NCAA appearances had JJ taken us to before the end of his third season? We're you here then? I was. And, I recall we had a bunch of folks wanting JJ to go away. A little tough to try to compare a long term record with one existing less than three seasons at this point.
  14. I would only touch this question in private.
  15. Because that's the name of the place with the school...who owns the thing. It only confuses a few folks...those that know...well, we'll continue to call it the Super Pit. The last five men's games have made it sort of Super at the moment as well. Let's hope it continues.
  16. See...see how much you would miss this?
  17. [quote name="quoner" KILL ME.
  18. Yep...pretty much! :-)
  19. Must be his coaches fault in your world. Always blaming the players are you now for their personal actions? Odd for you....since when are players accountable for their on and off field actions in your mind? You need to keep your theories straight. You will confuse your fellow haters. Edit: just couldn't resist. The opening was big enough to drive a Peterbilt truck through it! Ha!
  20. Only to the haters. Our Alumni are waking up...I grant you slowly...to all the good things that are gapping at and with UNT these days. Some folks just refuse to acknowledge it. But...only at North Texas I guess.
  21. It's not "convenient"...it is a fact! I actually saw the email from the Purdue AD replying that he would be happy to come to Denton, BUT that the earliest he could get the team there was many years out. I do not recall the exact year he stated but it was many years out. All the recent realignments and the new National Championship playoff system has gummed up scheduling for a lot of schools...P5's being no exception. Believe it...don't believe it...matters not...it is what it is in the case of Purdue.
  22. Don't know...wasn't me, but perhaps it was the suggestion to let someone else do it that infects so much of the UNT fan base these days. Just guessing of course. Wasn't me for sure. I save my -1's for the truly deserving. Ha!
  23. Excellent! Great news. Coach Lama is a credit to this institution. He is one of the best speakers we have on our coaching staffs...always so very positive with his message. And, he is a big supporter of other programs as well. I often see him at basketball, football, etc. games. When you talk about coaches that establish a family atmosphere and really care about their program, players and fellow staffers, Coach lama ranks right up at the top of any list. Congrats to Coach Lama...well deserved...well earned.
  24. No he can't. Sorry...sign up deadline has past. Plenty of time if he had wanted to play or help out. Maybe he can come watch and decide to play next year.
  25. See...I told you this was going to be fun!
