Check out the latest edition of the North Texan and turn to page 42. You will find a photo of Lt. Jackson with two other Dallas a Police Officers who are UNT grads. Always great to see a super Mean Green fan get a bit of positive press. Check it out folks.

Absolutely...ask him. Let us know what he says.

I am glad they are back to Ft. Worth as well, but it has been a very poorly attended stop on the Caracpvan. So, Ft. Worth folks need to really try to show up for this one. Let's see the Tarrant County folks make the effort to help keep these things going in Tarrant County. Great to see the 11:30am lunch time as well...need to try new things as attendance has been very poor in both Dallas and Ft. Worth. Gainesville outdrew both last year by my count. That's nuts given the relative size of these places. So, good on the Athletic Dept. for at least trying something different. If it doesn't work, times can go back to evenings...or new locations can be found for future events. Come on folks...pick one or two and show up wearing your green. These things are fun! Oh, by the way...do not miss the Plano event...always the very best!

Only at North Texas! Let someone else do it....keep leading the charge in giving folks excuses! Only at North Texas where everything is always someone elses's responsibility. Talk to me about all the people I have emailed, phoned, and written to just in the last few months to help with a Mean Green Club membership...even at the $25 level. I could write the best comedy novel in the world with all the excuses...yes they are excuses...why they won't join. And, how many have told me to my face that they would, but have not. Yep...all RV's fault. Got ya! Check! Only at North Texas where talk is big and cheap but action lacks. But, keep up that UNT needs to be BIG TIME stuff. Sounds great.

Well, me too! But let'ps be honest...it was published by the DMN as a rumor before either you or I mentioned it here. And, sure, UNT would love him as a HC, but no way our fan base would be willing to step up with the cash to pay his salary. Got lots of folks who can talk big time though. Just sayin......

Does not appear to be budget numbers but rather actual expenses. Travel expenses much higher for UTEP than UNT for one thing. Easier to drive to say DeSoto from Denton than to get there from El Paso. Don't know what one can make of these stats as appear to be expenses...not budget numbers. Would love to see a comparison of actual budget numbers as that would say something about where teams expect to get their players...near or far and differences in recruiter salaries, etc. note that La Tech's expenses are the lowest. They seem to be doing a good job both controlling expenses and getting some good bang for their bucks spent. Thanks for posting this...interesting comparison of CUSA schools.

Yep...saw him walking around in that boot. Rex Rollins in a boot as well. Hopefully, both back soon. Rollins said he just turned an ankle and will be back soon.

Yep...am thinking you are correct. I think Barnes lands quickly at Tennessee and takes an assistant or two with him.

That is being very kind. All but doubled them up. A slaughter! Too bad, but, yes, if RV wants to chat with Jalie it seems open to do so now. Wow! U Conn is tough!

Agree great stuff at Uncle Uber's. Couldn't get in the place for lunch last time the bride and I were there...too darn crowded. Ended up at the Angry Dog and once again enjoyed their Angry Dog.

C-USA Fundraising totals for 2013-14
KRAM1 replied to Coach Bill Lewis's topic in Mean Green Football
Thank you, Sir. Numbers are important. We need you and appreciate your new membership! -
It was definitely a good day to be out watching practice...I might add that I found the silver cross that Kenny Byers lost and was able to return it to him. So, let's just say...I recovered a fumble at the scrimmage today! :-) Good times spent with Silver Eagle talking Mean Green football and watching some spring ball. Football season simply cannot get here fast enough!

Dean Smith, upon his death, requested that his estate send each letterman from his years at UNC, about 180 in all, a check for $200.00 each so they could "enjoy a dinner out compliments of Coach Dean Smith". Each letterman received a letter from his estate with a $200.00 check attached. How cool is that?

Old news. RV has spoken about this report publicly. Surprised it took so long to be posted here. -
He might even apply it to a few fans! :-)

NCAA Eliminates Immediate Eligibility Hardship Waivers

You are dead wrong. When did you graduate? There has never been a better time than now to be associated with UNT. You are entitled to your opinion, but you are dead wrong. The apathy you talk about on campus has disappeared except for those who are going to be negative no matter what. Upgrades are being made everywhere you look in facilities and in professors and in research and in administrators. I give you our new President as the best example I can give...Our President is not a "placeholder", he is a dynamo and is making significant...very significant changes across the University. I sit on the search committee currently looking for our next VP for Advancemnent (arguably the second most important position at the University for the future of UNT), and the excitement from the committee members is amazing...we have a Dean, two tenured professors, our AD, the VP for Research, a student representative, two large individual donors, a member of the UNT Foundation Board and me...representing donors and UNT Alumni through my Alumni Board membership. The people applying for the position hold the position at PAC12, SEC, etc. Universities and cannot wait to be selected so they can come to UNT. Each talks of the excitement surrounding UNT on the national level...national level folks. You speak of change in the administration..,well, I guess you haven't been paying very close attention because that change you speak of has already been happening. UNT has more Fulbright Scholars than any other Texas University, so I question your comment about professors who do not want to be "there". I interact with many UNT professors on campus and off and each one is super engaged. In addition, our professors are getting younger...you can't just fire a tenured professor, so this takes some time, but do some research and check out the new professor hires over the last 2-3 years across the disciplines. You will be very positively impressed. So, discourage your kids all you want. That is every parents right, but try to take your blinders off regarding the current state of affairs and future tract UNT is on before you do. Because right now, your just dead wrong about YOUR University, and your comment reflects very little current knowledge or understanding. That is too bad and is one of the challenges UNT faces. Even its own alumni are ignorant about what is going on...and that is on UNT as much as it is the Alumni. UNT does not "toot it's own horn" nearly enough. Oh, know who understands that and is out to do something about it? Yep, that new Prez who is currently making change after change to bring UNT into a prominent position within the state and nation. That guy will not allow UNT to take a back seat to anyone. You can take that to the bank.

MGB: 5 steps UNT needs to take to improve
KRAM1 replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Basketball
Respect is a two-way street. It is not dependent upon what view one holds. A point sorely missed here on GMG.Com. People want folks to "respect" a person's view spewing venom, but have no interest in respecting a different view. It's the way of GMG.Com these hats. Your response is a case in point.- 59 replies

MGB: 5 steps UNT needs to take to improve
KRAM1 replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Basketball
Would be OK if that respect went both ways, don't you think? Only people who get hammered here are the ones who support the program regardless of who is coach or AD. You know, those who actually show up to support the players in person...like flyonthewall. Respect should be a two way street, but that doesn't go well here...unless you are one who wants everyone fired. Fair is fair...fly is only countering the high constant whine. -
So very much fun being a season ticket holder and watching those Blakeley years. Anticipation built each year prior to the season to see what the slogan would be on the back of the chairs for the year. That was back in the day when the home bench was located where the visitor bench is today. Great fun times in the Super Pit. Thanks for the memories Coach Blakeley.

Let's start a poll of guesses on how many TO's JJ had in his pocket when the game ended. You have been around long enough to understand, right? :-)
-
And, I can't get him to even respond to a PM regarding his game day shirt ordered for him for the GMG.Com. Beginning to think this guy is our new Skiver! LOL
-
So....perfect for GMG.Com, right? LOL!

Noel Johnson...current HC Midwestern... Former UNT ass't coach... Played under Sharpe at TTech..turned the MW program into a winner. Worth a look-see I would think.
