  1. Fans of other teams certainly seem to know about it. Many of them say that all that a defense has to do is hit the QB on every play.
  2. Note that we will run the ball more than 39 times and you won't get 23 yards of sacks against us.
  3. Yes, and it would almost certainly be approved. (I'd say WILL, but I'm not the NCAA. However, this situation fits the mold of other medical redshirt approvals.)
  4. That's 2/3 correct. He dislocated his shoulder and left the game, but it was not in the first half. No official word on his return.
  5. Sorry to hear about the injury, get well soon!
  6. Sorry, dislocated, not separated. Also, I should have said "he needs BOTH arms to pitch correctly" -- after all, it's not as if we always run the option to one side of the field. In other words, shoulder injury on non-throwing side is more significant for a triple option QB than for QBs in some other offenses.
  7. Our starter left the Hawaii game with a separated shoulder. No official word yet on his status. It wasn't his throwing arm, but in our offense he needs that arm to pitch the ball correctly.
  8. Yep, it's called the triple option offense. Good run defenses often have just as much trouble against the TO as average or bad run defenses.
  9. almost certainly will be streamed on channelsurfing.net since it's on CBS College Sports network
  10. Sagarin's ratings have nothing to do with respect, they just "are". And at this point in the season, they're VERY heavily influenced by the preseason rating. Which is very heavily influenced by the final rating from the previous season....
  11. The decision to go for the TD was correct. The specific play called was not.
  12. Nope, since schools can choose to report actual or paid attendance, photographs of near-empty stadiums mean nothing.
  13. FYI, Army @ Eastern Michigan (Sat. 6pm Central) is available from the EMU website, which means it MIGHT be on channelsurfing.net as well. I know I'm looking there before I buy the single-game offer from EMU.
  14. A person who goes to multiple schools has multiple alma maters. For example, my alma maters include Pensacola Junior College, the US Military Academy, Emory University, and the University of Maryland. I graduated from two of them.
  15. You are correct, there are no at-large bowl spots. There are some which do not have predetermined back-ups though.
  16. I'm going to feel free to speculate, because it's fun, and it's based on past facts... ...maybe La Tech is doing something like what Army did during our time in C-USA: When Army joined C-USA (for football only), we accompanied our acceptance of the offer with notice of our intent to withdraw in ( x ) years. I can't remember what ( x ) was, but it was whatever notice was required by the conference in order to not have to pay a penalty. If I had to guess, I'd say that ( x ) was 2, since we announced before the 2003 season that we would leave C-USA after 2004. At the end of our first season, we withdrew that notice and re-submitted notice of our intent to withdraw in ( x ) years, thus pushing our withdrawal out one more year. Doing this gave us maximum flexibility, ensuring the earliest possible penalty-free exit if (and when) we decided that we wanted to leave. So, when we really did decide to leave the conference, we just did not withdraw our notice, and the clock actually started ticking towards the penalty-free exit date.
  17. Last year, Dave Ryan and Jason Sehorn called all of our home games on CBS College Sports. No announcement yet about this year's team. It was obvious that Sehorn really worked hard to get to know about our team and our school -- that's one benefit of having the same team call all of the games. ** edit to add that I just read the press release about Leach and saw this: "For the second consecutive season Sehorn and play-by-play announcer Dave Ryan serve as the announce team for the Network’s Army home games." http://www.cbscollegesports.com/press/2010/08/mike-leach-joins-cbs-college-sports-networks-2010-college-football-broadcast-team-as-game-analyst.php
  18. My point is that it does not matter what seasons he played, it only matters when he first enrolled full-time in college. If he was on the 2008 UCO roster, and his bio says he played one year at Navarro, then at the very latest, he first enrolled in (junior) college in 2007. It seems unlikely that he would have first enrolled that year, given that he clearly intended to enroll at Grambling in 2006.
  19. everyone gets 5 years to play 4, so if he enrolled in college in 2006, this is his last year of eligibility
  20. The lack of lines for FIU and ULM has nothing to do with injuries. You might want to check their 2010 schedules for a hint for the real explanation.
  21. Earlier than you probably think you should be there. Seriously, traffic will be bad because of security at entry to post.
  22. qualifying has nothing to do with what school you're talking about, it's an NCAA question
  23. FYI, 2010 Army Football Outlook from goarmysports.com: Offense Defense Special Teams
  24. Army beat writer Sal Interdonato's report "blames" the 2nd timeout on the fact that Army kept defense on the field, didn't bring in FG block team. Dodge called timeout to talk about a 4th-and-5 from Army's 16. North Texas led 13-10 with 3:06 left in the game. Dodge returned to the huddle and was surprised Army hadn't brought in its field-goal block team.
  25. LOL
