Not sure where or what this post was about. But I guarantee you that more fans will come watch Baseball than mens soccer. We need a Baseball team, not a soccer team. I'm sorry but baseball is right up there with Football and Basketball and soccer is right down there with water polo and horseshoes.

I heard from someone that the new uniforms are awesome. He said the helmets have stripes on them...but the negative is that they still have 'north texas' on them. He said the jerseys were awesome looking with the under armor flashiness that you see on other under armor schools. He said they have 3 different colors of pants: green, white, and black pants, and that they have stripes going down the side of them. I think everyone will be impressed with the new look. He said that having under armor sponsor us has also helped in the recruiting. Not sure if this is 100% accurate but it's a pretty trustworthy source, so this is what I'll be expecting in Norman.

I was reading their board and evidently they are in the works of getting a new stadium as well. What will their stadium be like and will they try to out-do ours if it gets built first? Stadium Talk I read this and thought it was a great idea. We should do this to get the Denton community around the school, esp. on game days. Is this possible? Promoting games

He received a bachelor's degree in business administration from UNT. He is group president of K. Hovnanian Homes. Mr. Ray lives in Plano. Whose taking his place now? And what does this do for UNT athletics? UNT BOR

Im sure this has been mentioned time and time again but what conference was UNT in during all of this?

All the more reason to be disgusted with where we were last year and the year before. I will still support the MG through it all.

Plumm, This was the most entertaining and educational post I have read yet. I'm a recent alumnus but I commend you on your faithfulness as a MG fan throughout all those years. I'm glad you have not made excuses for the lack of direction our Athletic Dept. has taken, let alone our University...yet you have continued to support it. I see that you have educated yourself and sought out some of the major players in our lack of being able to capitalize on our accomplishments over the past years. I agree that with where NT has been, we should be so much further along as far as Athletics and Natl Recognition. There IS no excuse for us not having a nationally ranked football program, being in a better conference, and having a sold out stadium, other than apathy in a few people that have the power to make changes for the University. I for one do not want to have to go through 10 years of seeing nothing progress in our athletics, or the University as a whole. That is the very reason we don't have sold out venues because people have given up after waiting around all those years. Thanks for your post, passion, and faithfulness.

I was talking with some people about what TD is going to be thinking about before his first game. When he walks out onto the gigantic OU stadium with his newly formed Mean Green to face the Big XII champions. Sure sure he coached here before...but in the 90's and sure he played for UT...but lets face it football has changed enormously since then. Will he be nervous? Will he be scared? What will be going through his mind?

I must say Troys athletic facilities look pretty sad. Not sure why they added their hot-tub to the list Troy Facilities

Imagine having this camp in a new stadium. The players would love it and it would do wonders when they go back to their states and tell people about it and show pictures to everyone.

True but cotton gets completely soaked in sweat and then becomes heavy. I just played in a cotton polo shirt and stopped because I was wet and the shirt was very umcomfortable.

I just sent Coach V an email stating our intentions to raise money to purchase naming rights to something. I asked for his involvement so that hopefully more people on GMG would get serious about donating (if they can afford it). I stated that it was a win-win situation: That the athletic dept. would be getting some money and that GMG would get some more exposure for the alumni and students to stay involved with the University and what is going on. I also said that maybe we could start a pledge drive dollar for dollar with another donor that he may have lined up as someone else suggested. I will keep everyone posted as to what he says. We def. do not need anymore negative posts on this thread incase he decides to come take a look over here.

I think we should be able to get at least $2000-3000. We already have pledged $300-400. Maybe RV will give us a discount on naming one of the bigger more noticable items...say....the Stadium
