Though it might make the games more interesting to watch, I certainly don't think it will make our recruiting fun to watch as SMU steals our recruits away. My vote is that UNT will continue to boast about "being for the 12th year in a row one of the top 100 college buys" as our athletic program slowly slips behind the rest of the Texas Universities.

Is no one else shocked that SMU has offered $2M for their HC position?? They are really ponying up down there and showing they are serious about their program.

I agree. I think this hurts NT tremendously. With the spread now coming to SMU why would players want to come to NT? JJ has shown that he can recruit, even in HI, he has shown that he can get his WAC team ranked and even to a BCS bowl appearance, he has shown that he can groom his players to be talked about for the Heisman. SMU is in a better conference, in the heart of a Dallas, has better facilities and more $$$ than NT. I think this will easily hurt our program and quite possibly TCU as well. I think bringing the spread in will dramatically increase the attendance at their games. I think our days of contending with SMU are over.

Well put. I gagree 100%. I am excited about what the future holds but quite disappointed about this past season (ie, the AKst loss). I think our offense crubled at the end of the season and our defense crumbled before the season started. I also have changed my stance on getting rid of Mendoza....after talking with a defensive player on the team he informed me about what the team thinks about this guy and his coaching, or lack thereof.

Please this is no rivalry whatsoever. UNT thinks this is a rivalry but SMU couldn't care less. In their minds TCU is the rivalry, not the "little NT" up the road.

Well then you have to ask why would another conference want us?

I do not think that once we get this stadium "built" that all of these good conferences are going to say "Wow, look at UNT's new stadium. So what their football team hasn't been very good lately. Lets go ahead and create them a spot in our conference because that stadium is sooo nice". Puh Leez.

I remember a few months back someone posted a link to a website they built with pictures of the UNT logo that you could save as a background or screen savers etc. I am getting married in a few months and was hoping someone had that link so that I can use the UNT logo for the groom's cake. Those logos were the best ones I have seen yet. Thanks
