Again...i think it will be big for Troy's recruiting but lets be realistic, a recruit is not going to want to come to UNT to play because their conference dominator Troy has a first round pick. And chances are people don't even know what conference Troy is in and certainly that UNT is in the same conference as them. That is incredibly far-fetched.

I am not sure if anyone heard the rumbling of the endzone bleachers when the wind would blow. I was waiting for them to blow away. Although it did get pretty loud and sounding like people stomping.

I too canceled my premium package. I was turned off by how poorly put together it was. It worked okay for one game and then completely fell apart.

I too came from Austin and didn't care to go to TU or TTU and SWT was too close to home. I was looking at SFA or SMSU until someone had mentioned the University of North Texas to me, sadly, I had never heard of it before and I was 20 at the time. I decided to give it a try and to be honest it was a tough adjustment coming from so far away. Thanks for grabbing the bull by the loins on this project. I would definitely visit the greeks and sororities as most of them are the ones that have come from further away that are more committed to their university since they cannot go home every weekend. As far as the housing is concerned I would be careful because many students in housing would also reject such a proposal. I have many friends that are assistant hall directors and I hear different things from them about issues like this. I would set up some booths around the stadium during the first few games with a video/poster or something detailing what the new stadium would look like. I think the reason this failed before is because it didn't target people that would be interested in such a thing. If you set up at the game, then you know you're targeting people that have an interest in athletics or at least UNT. If you can catch them on the way in and show them what a new stadium would look like, while they're sitting there watching the game in Fouts maybe they will realize how bad it is and want a new one.

Okay, I will attempt to address the masses starting here: Athletics, alumni support, school spirit, greek life, school recognition (inside but esp. outside of DFW), student attrition, poor turnout to events, to name a few - sure sure you could compare UNT to the Lamar's of the state, however, I am trying to think bigger than that. Please don't confuse negativism with realism, sorry not everyone on the board lives in fantasy land. Ah yes GMG.com two most talked about subjects; Stadium dreams and which conference should we join (since it's entirely up to us).... ............and NOW I predict a post that will put together the 'Optimal Conference Alignment' for UNT which will include a select few schools from a select few other conferences and how this new conference will dominate and become a BCS conference and how it will be great because we won't need a travel partner since the schools are so close and then we will have a great showing of fans because everyone will want to drive there (being so close) and how financially it makes perfect sense for every school in that conference and how we will get great tv time with countless bowl-tie-ins and then a breakdown of why those school are included in this 'Dream conference' (UNT excluded of course).
