Guys I've got to be honest with you; after driving 7 hours to go to the game. I was very disappointed. I will say this though and that it I really enjoyed sitting up close to the players bench. After every 3 and out I got to watch them come back and sit on their bench and watch their facial reactions, I got to watch the coaches yell/encourage them, I got to watch them try to encourage each other. It was a part of the game that I have not experienced before...esp DeLoach and him yelling at the defense. I will also note that I saw RV walking around late in the game behind the players and he looked very upset and down about the game. I really felt bad for the guy.

Did anyone happen to notice the score update at the bottom of that video that read "N. Texas - 3 (7) LSU - 24"? It is shown 1:27 mins into the video......nothing like free advertising.

The SEC is hands down the strongest conference. It would be stupid to schedule all BCS opponents then go have play such strong conference opponents. If a team goes undefeated in the SEC they deserve to go to the national championship.

If we were to use this as a parking lot, I don't see the grass growing at all. I think this would end up looking miserable with grass growing in certain parts and then in other areas concrete with holes in the middle. Also, do I sense a shift for the meaning of Mean GREEN?

The reason is because most schools, with the exception of the Ivy League schools, are identified because of their athletics. Most schools that you have heard of before are probably because they have or had a successful sports team of some sort. I think of Duke, UNLV, even Western Kentucky because of their basketball program. When you meet someone that has a degree from there you immediately recognize those schools, not because of the type of education they offer but because of their current or at one time success at sports. So what does this mean?? well it certainly gives the alumni a sense of pride in their school and that is precisely what the alumni needs to keep up with their alma mater. If the alumni have no pride in their University, chances are they won't network for anything. Think about App. State beating Michigan last year. That one...ONE...win over a big BCS school gave them national publicity and now their potential employer has actually heard of their university...........which NEVER hurts and only helps. *vote yes for the new stadium...vote yes for the future of UNT

I have to share this story because I feel that it represents a portion of our students: This drunk or halfway drunk guy - we'll call him Idiot - came up to our tailgate section and started talking to us. After a while my friend said "and what can your degree do to get us a new stadium", Idiot replied "well I dont think we need a new stadium because we can't fill the one up now". I said "well...maybe we can't fill it up now because people know how crappy it is and don't want to come to the games", Idiot replied "no people don't come because we have a sorry football team". I said "well...maybe we have a sorry football team because we can't get recruits here because our facilities are so out dated". Idiot said "I dont think that is the case". So I said "so you enjoy watching football games in Fouts field and the track doesn't bother you sitting so far away or anything?". Idiot said "well I have actually never watched a football game in there"...Idiot, knowing he had slipped up, quickly said "but I have watched track meets in there"....I said "Oh yeah that is nice having the track so close to the seats so you can see all the action up close huh"...Idiot said "yeah". So I said "well it isn't so nice when you're trying to watch a football game in the middle of that huge track and have to look through a track to do so". Turns out Idiot is one of those people that just sits out in the parking lot during the games and has NEVER even been in to watch a game. I wanted to punch him in the groin.

The PA system is terrible...maybe they rigged it like that to show the students how crappy Fouts is and to persuade the students that "The time is Now".

I gotta admit it was sad. No one paid any attention and the stupid drumline was banging so loud no one could hear a word that Fry or Greene was saying. I call it a flop.

I happened to notice while looking about today that Texas Roadhouse has a new addition to their building. Waving underneath the Texas flag is non other than a large green Mean Green flag. I was very excited to see this and hope it continues throughout Denton. If you stop by give them props for that.

Well on the flip side... This board is about posting your opinions and that is what new2NT has done. I can't say that I agree with his stance entirely but I can say this; if he is new to UNT then he has picked up on something and that is the apathy of the fans and it has only been a few weeks of school. I think he shares the the same opinions of many of the fans, or at least the ones I have talked to, in regards to the facilities and the Sun Belt Conference. So new2NT what are you going to do about it?? are you going to whine just like you have accused everyone else of doing or are you going to encourage students, as well as yourself, to take ownership of your university and to think positively about the potential that it has?

The only problem with your theory is that you failed to mention the differences in the coaching decisions. I think it is absolutely fair to say that KSU, OU, & Arkansas could have easily put up even more points than they did. I think that Prince could have easily put up 20+ more points than he chose to. Stoops just sucks and chose to creating the margin. I think it is way too early to tell if our defense has improved since last season. The true test to see if our defense has improved will come when we start our conference games and can actually keep our opponent from putting points on the board and not leave it up to the other coach to "call off his dogs".

I am sure that people noticed but it was really surprising to me as well as comforting at the same time. Four other schools (off the top of my head) had their new head coach debut this week and they went as follows: Baylor: Art Briles - Loss to Wake Forest 13 - 41 ATM: Mike Sherman - Loss to AkState 14 - 18 SMU: June Jones - Loss to Rice 27 - 56 Michigan: Rich Rodriguez - Loss to Utah 23 - 25 I am glad that other coaches at the big conference level experienced the same thing that Dodge experienced last season, and maybe even worse since 2 of the four were considered upsets. I have to remember that this is still only his second season as head coach and there are so many changes this season too, esp. with the new defense and working with Deloach. I would take a season opening blowout against Ou and K state over an upset loss any day.

I second that. Tulsa dude just think of your trip to Dallas as a vacation. I would be more excited about getting out of Tulsa than I would about watching any football game. Bring your cousin & your wife...and if they're the same person you'll save some money.

I dont care about how thing thing looks as much as i care about how it works. Last season was just plain awful. Until, they fix the glitches i won't waste another cent on this pathetic product.

So lets see....a step down for New Mexico, TCU, & Baylor. These makeshift conference realignments make me laugh...mainly because they will never happen.

This guy is nuts. FAU will get dominated by UT.....DOMINATED. I just can't wait to read his response after it happens. ps I am not a UT fan either and usually root for the opposing team, but you have to draw the line somewhere (between insanity and reality)

Again...I never understand when people say things like this. I just don't see how this is in any way a benefit for NT. Lets be realistic - ex. the Cowboys have Ware has not helped UNT in any way shape or form.
