I think your argument about everyone wanting to leave the WAC could be said of the CUSA, MAC, and Sun Belt as well. Furthermore, the teams wanting to leave the WAC, CUSA, and MAC sure are not waiting for a spot to open up in the Sun Belt and I would say that 100% of the teams in the sun belt would leave for the CUSA in a heartbeat. Based on that logic alone I would say we need to get the heck out of here.

I guess that's what happens when you take risks in a program. I am sure that Boise didn't want to join the WAC at the time but figured it was a stepping stone (from the Big West) and now their chance has come to keep stepping up. They could have just waited in the Big West and hoped for it to get better like us.

Anything is better than this dying sun suck conference. For the life of me I can't understand why ANYONE would be against a conference jump. Budget...that's going to be changing soon. Travel...we don't travel well as it is because no one wants to see us play these sucky schools that no one cares about. So what if BSU leaves the WAC...it's still light years ahead of what we are currently in. Their members are better recognized schools, they play better against named opponents, and they have a better opportunity to jump into a better conference in time. Lets face it...if getting into a better conference is a stepping stone then moving into the WAC is our first step. No other conference is going to be looking to raid the SunBelt, even the CUSA is looking at the Mtn West instead of the Sunbelt. If we pass on another opportunity our football program is doomed. I for one would rather attend a game in our new stadium against Fresno St, Hawaii, or Nevada than ULaLa, or FIU. It's a no brainer.

Then it wouldn't take me so long to sift through the dung to find the good stuff.

I can't wait for the season to open in our new stadium. I think that this will be a great time for our old traditions to take root and hopefully we can add some new ones to start the future off right.

I completely agree. Our "traditions" are terrible and the only people that think they are good have probably never been to a large school with real traditions to witness how great they can be. You also forgot about the one of parking the old car on the track...what are we going to do about that one when we don't have a track anymore? I guess we can just park it in the parking lot with the rest of the cars. Or what about the tradition of leaving at half time or not even coming into the games? Clearly we need to just get more people to adhere to these.

I just heard that we were building an additional 20K seats for this new stadium. As part of the package we are borrowing an additional 20K people from the DFW area to fill those seats so it doesn't look so ridiculous.

Doesn't look like they are looking for any schools from a dying conference. But schools mentioned as possible targets if C-USA were to expand included Temple, Louisiana Tech and TCU, or perhaps some schools from larger conferences that might begin to fall apart during realignment, according to some people connected to C-USA.

Question: I think a lot (if not all) of our athletic growth and success was a result of RV. If he were to leave UNT, how do you think that would affect things here? Would the CUSA (or any other conference) be hesitant on accepting us?

BYU would go to the big 12. They need a northern team and what better competitive team fits the bill? AK would be stupid to leave the SEC. Co St isn't going anywhere because they haven't proven themselves. Sadly all this moving around (IMO) has no affect on UNT going anywhere. I think we are in a good position with the building of a stadium but I seriously doubt that CUSA wants another Texas team in their conference. If UTEP gets plucked then we might be a different story.

And in his tenure at WSU he sure has improved their athletics and helped turn them into the power house they are now

Could just be the Sunbelt refs...which are a small step up from middle school refs.
