Since when is GMG about people's "points"? Its only about facts right... And again to your point about having no "local coverage"...you say this because we're currently getting a lot of coverage? Communication must not be your strong suit.

Is that why our only 3 games to be on regional television last season were Ohio, Ball State, and Army? Or because we currently get so much coverage playing against the sun belt schools?

Unfortunately our entire fan base is fickle random fans that happen to attend UNT and support other "larger" schools. Until we can entice those fans into coming to games and supporting we will always be where we are. The only way to entice them is by either giving them free shirts, a mustang, or putting a product that they know on the field.

I would like to know your opinion about playing in the WAC (strength of the conference, what other students/alumni think of the conference opponents, etc). I will also say that I am pro WAC over the Belt any day, but I am pro CUSA over the WAC any day.

That would all depend on where you currently live wouldn't it? Once you answer that you realize the logic is not insane at all.

Thank you NT80, I couldn't have said it any better. I would add how many of those WAC schools left because the WAC was "so terrible" and joined the Belt? None. Such a "stable" conference because no one wants in. And those that are locked in, have trouble getting enough recognition to get out. And we're boasting about this???

I would think a school would rather be independent than be in the SBC if they had no other conference options...unless of course they are not currently Div1 and then they would fit right into the SBC. We welcome all non Div1 universities, esp those looking to add football at some point in the future. I dont understand your "stable" point here. Can you please clarify?

We will not be voted "into" CUSA. Why would UH, SMU, Rice, UTEP want another TX team? For more competition for recruits?

The conference had and lost central fl, south fl, old dominion, NMst, ID, UtSt, la tech. Based on those I would venture to say that a few of them are doing better now that they left. Perhaps you should have looked at the games that were televised...since you didn't I will point out here that NONE, I repeat, NONE of them were against conference opponents (Ball St, Ohio, Army, and AL). This is hilarious does Waters actually think by this shakeup that the Sunbelt is going to be more attractive to other conferences/universities? :lol: :lol: I can hear his pitch to La Tech "we have been one of bottom conferences for years now and universities have come and gone and...well currently...most our members are looking for a way out. But the horizon is bright for the Sunbelt; sure we average the lowest attendance, have the lowest budgets, and generally speaking no one has ever heard of our members...but I have a hunch that this will all change by adding you to our conference and together we can work to create a powerful conference together with the likes of FIU, FAU, Ulala, and Ulamo. This is ridiculous...the point is that no one will fly to go see us play these worthless schools.

My bet is that KS, Kst, Mizz, join the MWC. I know it's a long shot but I seriously doubt there will be teams leaving the MWC to join a busted Big2. I think there will be conferences jumping at the chance to add Ks solely due to their BB program.

I tried to give you a negative for your stupid posts but I ran out. I would rather play the likes of Nevada, Fresno St, Hawaii vs. Ula la, FIU or any other school in the belt. So mabye the 4 schools you listed could "handle the WAC"...but they won't put more butts in our stadium.

Can we all start to email RV or the Interim Prez? I think we as students and former students need to make our voices heard about how we feel about taking advantage of this opportunity. We simply cannot sit and wait. I spoke with RV over a year ago about the WAC and why we didn't accept their offer. His response was terrible, he said "well we are in a good spot right now; the sun belt is looking better and better and..."...pretty much the same thing the guy who wrote the article said. Pretty depressing that the AD doesn't care what the students want, only what he wants.

You didn't ask what conference we wanted to be in, you asked what conference are we likely to be in. You should do another poll and ask what conference do we want to be in

Yes. We are in a much better, stronger, conference with stronger traditions, higher budgets, and better attendance. I say (assuming the WAC even still wants us) we use their invite as leverage to get into the CUSA. If the CUSA is not interested then we accept. I also will say that I would like to think that we are light years ahead of UTSA and TXST but that may not be the case. But I don't like the idea of playing in a conference with them either.
