Editorial: New stadium an insult to students I am really beginning to hate the NT daily. I cannot stand how the anti stadium crowd keeps bringing the 86% of the students that did not vote. Although I agree that the percentage of students that did not vote is large, was this not the largest voter turnout in school history? The editorial states: "Though an open forum was held to discuss the project, it was poorly publicized, and few students knew it was taking place. Had a greater effort been made to inform students of this forum a low voter turnout would have been less offensive, as the administration would have at least made some effort to involve the students and let their voices be heard." This statement also drives me insane because the stadium vote was highly publicized. There was signs all over campus, fliers, multiple NT daily articles, FWST articles, DMN articles, local radio discussion and local television news stories. UNT students either did not care about the outcome of the vote or are completely blind. I understand the editorial is referring to the forum and to be honest maybe it wasn't publicized very well. I do not even remember a "discussion forum" existing. Although the forum may not have been well publisized the stadium vote was. Make sure to read David Y's comment on the editorial. One final comment: The title of this editorial is the dumbest thing I have ever read. An Insult? give me a break..... These Losers need to get a life.

Correction = I now have a job! I am officially an employee of the University. I asked earlier in the thread but I did not get a response. Are the designs that will be shown at the Spring Game the new ones done by HKS?

I will be there with TTG and crew. Are the stadium renderings that will be shown the game the final plans created by HKS? I know the renderings we have all seen were not actually dons by HKS. Thus, the stadium may look completely different then what we have all seen.

On the NT rivals page he is not listed as a commit..........However, the link on the DRC shows him as committed. When you click the NT link on his rivals page (the one linked on DRC) he is not shown as a commit either.

Maybe I am crazy but it seems like many on this board do not support Riley. All the comments such as "to weak, fragile" etc..... Whether these statements are true or not I do not care. If Riley was not the son of the head coach I am sure most of you would not act this way about him being that he was such a big time recruit. WHO CARES HE IS THE COACHES SON!! What is important is that he has talent and that he put on a MEAN GREEN UNIFORM!! Although I like Vizza, this team has only won three games while he was at the helm. Although all the losses were not entirely his fault, he still has some of the blame ( poor decisions, constantly overthrowing his receivers on the deep ball). Thus, maybe it is time for this team to move in a different direction. Riley showed some major speed when he played this year. Additionally, during his HS days he showed he really had an arm and good accuracy. Riley also knows this offense better then any NT QB ever will. I think Riley's knowledge of the offense will give him the opportunity to possibly call some of his own plays. Occasionally calling his own plays will help this offense because he will be able to spot things on the field the coaches might not see. I think it is almost certain Riley will be the starting QB next season, so instead of constantly pointing out his flaws lets embrace his positives and welcome him. I look forward to seeing Riley in the gun next year leading this team to VICTORY!!! PS: For those of you who think the team is not behind him, most of us know absolutely nothing about what really goes on behind the scenes. If Riley is as good as he is made out to be and it leads to wins, the team will be behind him in a heart beat.

1. No more no huddle garbage I want the a huddle where a receiver/running back runs in the play. I think too many opposing Defensive coordinators have picked up on the signals. I watched Ark st, and Florida international/lafayette (I can not remember which) watch the signals then run to his defense and change the play. Also Tasty reported Lamo did this as well. Because everything is this offense is supposedly simple, I am willing to bet the signals are as well. Additionally, I do not think we could make the signals more complicated because when dodge first came here the team had issues understanding the signals. 2. I want to see the use of tide ends more often. Maybe even move Jordan Scoggins back to Tight end. He played the position in high school and If I remember correctly he was pretty good and prefers that position over DT. I know we are not very deep at DT but it is not like he is really producing at the position. 3. I would like to see more two RB sets. I really think Dunbar is the second coming of freshman Jamario and Cobbs. He looked really good before he got injured and he was only a freshman. We have Cam back for another season and the two of them in the backfield together would be a really powerful weapon. Not to mention, the backups such as Mosely, and Hamilton look promising as well. Mosley is not the quickest RB but he is very dependable. Not really sure about Hamilton's potential at RB but bottom line the guy is an athlete. Finally, have no idea about the potential of Mathis........ 4. I think Gio knows plays and is comfortable with the system and as a result I would love to see him do some on the field play calling during the year. If not Gio, Riley can definitely call the plays he has played in this system his whole life. I hope Gio starts next year, I think he just had a sophomore slump I bet he come back next year and does great. I think Riley will lead us to greatness his junior and senior year. He looked really good when he played this season. However, he is to small now and will get injured too easily. During the games he played this year, he was manhandled by the defenses. 5. I would REALLY work hard with the WR's this off season. We cannot afford to continue to recruit more and more receivers when we desperately need other positions such as DT. Although there is some argument about the abilities of the receivers Dodge recruited, I think we have few that will be really good. Although Roberson did little to nothing on the field this year I really think give him some time and he will be great. Additionally, I bet Rucker will be really great if he stays out of jail. I bet Brgham will be pretty good as well. I guess my point is that I hope we do not waste more scholarships on receivers. I think the ones we already have on roster have a lot of potential. However, the loss of Fitz and stickler (of according to the Lafayette T.V announcer last year "Strickler") is really going to suck. If the receivers we currently have do not step up and make something happen our spread offense will be worse than this year. 6. In regards to play calling, I really hope we start throwing down field more often. I think dodge played the dink and dunk game this year to keep opposing offenses of the field. However, when all we do is five yard passes the defenses do not get spread out enough. I wan to see Roberson and Rucker down field constantly next year. 7. Recruit Defensive lineman.......... WHAT A NEWS FLASH............ 8. I want to see the defense start to be more aggressive. I want to see some hard hitting. I do not care if its late or of bounds just hitting the opposition as hard as they can. Although, its bad to ask them to play dirty, but frankly at this point I do not care. In regards to defensive schemes I am not worries Deloach will get them on track. HIT HARD!!! It has been a ruff season but now that I have had time to sit bacl and think about it a little I think we will see great improvement next year. We will see improvment for the following reasons: 1. The RB's are going to be great 2. I bet Gio will play much better next year 3. Deloach will make this defense better during the off season 4. our special teams returning has improved a lot during this season. 5. We have a ton of young players and they are getting better. 6. The offensive line is getting better...... we will have the the center back and JJ Johnson will be able to play guard and Hollivay started to show some potential. Hopefully Jenkins will put down the Big Macs and be ready for next season. Things will not be better if: 1. No receivers step up 2. We do not recruit quality DT's 3. we continue to nickel and dime down the field 4. Special teams continue to suck My prediction for next year: 5 and 7 anything less and Dodge has got to go. I know that 5 and 7 still sucks but I am trying to be realistic.... Actually to think of it, is 5 and 7 realistic considering the way we played this year? I know everyone wants to get rid of dodge, but bottom line he will be hear next year and we need to deal with it.

I have a friend who is an Auburn alum telling me that Auburn is/plans to pursue mike leach very heavily once Tuberville is out. Has anybody seen anything about leach to Auburn?

Rick, I live in an apartment in denton that has a fireplace. I have always been scared to use the fireplace because a fireplace in an apartment just seems lilke a bad idea to me. Not to mention the building across from me burned down about a year and a half ago and the complex will not tell us what caused the fire. Anyways, do you think apartment fireplaces are dangerous? My girlfriend is always trying to get me to light the fireplace but I never do because I do not want to burn the place down. Im just curious to hear your opinion on the matter.......

I think people are missing the point........ I dont think they want us to have they uniforms at all and thats why they are not making more UA gear. THe only reason they outfitting the team is because they had a contract with Dodge at SLC and when he came here the contract came with him. "I highly doubt they are just making our jerseys becuase of Todd Dodge. I guess with no loss to talk about our minds wander" If they were not doing this UNT would be on the list of shools they sponsor on the website.

I know everybody is angry because UA does not have UNT gear on their website and because they do not make a unt Jersey for fans to buy. I suspect that the reason UA is not promoting UNT is because they do not really sponser UNT. They sponsor Todd Dodge and they had to sponser the UNT football team when Todd Dodge came to UNT. I have a feeling that UA wants nothing to do with UNT because they are trying to sponsor only the "good" Football teams. Does anybody else think I am correct about this? I am willing to bet as soon as Dodge leaves UNT or Dodge's contract with UA is up, UNT will have a new uniform by a different company....... If I am right about all this I do not understand why they wouldn't just promote UNT. The university has 35,000 students for god sakes and it located in the DFW......

Why are we not winning by 30+ points yet? Will football and basketball be disappointing this year?
