I am getting tired head reading your post........... ATTENTION ALL GMG.COM POSTERS!!!!!!!!! As all of us already know, this program is big time and we are not looking for any more fans. In paticular, we do not need any more student support because we have such a consistent and strong following from that group already. Thus, I propose that we try and run off every student that critisizes the program, especially if they do not give money to the AD. Sure, I know they only have like 20 bucks to thier name but dammit they should give at least ten of it to the AD. If they don't fork it over their opinions mean nothing and lets run their butts outta here! There is no point in arguing with you anymore. You acuse everyone else of being poor fans for being critical of the FB program. Again, we are critical because we actually care about the university not because we want to see the program crumble. I am no longer going to waste my time on such an a lost cause. P.S. Your a bad fan

I am sorry rick but I must disagree. Those of us that cannot give to the program have just as much a say as those that do give monatary support. The University of North texas is all of ours and that is the only thing that should entitle us to an opinion. The only exception to that is if you are a mega doner like T. Boone Pickens, and god knows we dont have one of those.

You are right I do not give money to UNT. In fact, they pretty much pay me to go to school here. That must mean I especially do not deserve to have an opinion on my universities FB program. Your argument that I do not deserve an opinion because I do not give money to the university is dumb. Whether a student or an alumni, you are entitled to your opinion whether you give 0$ or 1,000,000$ so please save it for someone that cares. Although I appreciate your donation to the program, nobody cares about how much you give. Before you make statements about me do you research. With the exception of my last few posts I have been nothing but supportive of this FB team. As a student I do not have 10K laying around to give to the program. However, what I can do is show up to all the games that my class load permits and go nuts during the game. The posters on this board that know me can tell you I am far from the negative fair weather fans that come on hear and cause trouble. I never said any of you were bad fans because you support the FB team through rough times. My first year at UNT was 2005. We have never been good since I have been a student. Unlike many of you I cannot remember the past when we actually were good. Nonetheless, I continue to support UNT athletics and always will. Fire Fighting Rick once said he does not support MG football because they are good, he supports MG football because they are his team. When I get down about how we are playing I try to always follow that statement. Although I will always support UNT football, I can criticize it as well. I still think what is wrong with you and many on this board is that to many of you are satisfied with a coach that has a 4-26 record and are also satisfied with being competitive with half the sunbelt. To be honest, the true reason I am criticizing the team is because I support and care about the university. I obviously set my standards much higher that you because I want the team to be have a better record than 4-26 and I would like to to be able to compete with more than half the teams in the lowly sunbelt. In order to reach what I think is our potential, Dodge must be on his way out the door today. We have a great opportunity to turn this program in the right direction with the new stadium. I do not want to lose that opportunity because I chose to support an awful coach that will never turn this program around. We do not get many opportunities like this so lets not blow it. Finally, I really like how you assume that my current posts has anything to do with our loss to Troy. In reality, my poor opinion of Dodge has to do with his 4-26 record. Here is the problem with many of the posters on this board. We are satisfied with being competitive with HALF THE BELT! Sure, it's improvement but look at that statment a little closer. The sunbelt is arguably the worst confrence in D1 college football. I do not know about that rest of you but I strive to be better than on par with half the teams in the worst D1 football confrence. If we ever want to grow into a team of any significance in the college football world we need to shift our attitiude from trying to be competitive in the belt to being competitive and winning all our games. I am not asking us to go in and beat Alabama or any other national powerhouse I am just sick of the "were improving but still suck in the sunbelt" attitude. This team is absolutly awful and it is not the players fault because we have the talent to compete outside the belt. The poor performance of this team is a direct result of our awful HC. I understand the program had issues when Dodge took over but none of them are an exuse for how terrible we are. Dodge WILL NEVER TURN THIS PROGRAM AROUND!!!! We are at a point where we can change our destiny, we can suck for years to come or we can try to capitalize the on the stadium and change the future of the program. RV will you please bring us a real proven HC that knows how to win and is not completely incompetent!

Although my last post insinuated that I thought RV should be fired that is far from the truth. With the stadium being built in the near future I think RV is integral to the success of the project. Without RV, the project would be pushed back years. I do not fault RV for taking a chance on Dodge because at the time I thought it was a very good idea. However. if RV really want to solidify his legacy at NT he needs to swallow his pride and admit his mistake and fire Dodge. I cannot understand why any of you want to give Dodge more time to turn this program around. What has he done besides bring in a few good recruits? Dodge constantly make stupid decisions and has shown a complete refusal to make adjustments to the college game. Although he has began using tight ends and taking snaps under center these have been widely unsuccessful. I used to feel that the people on this board were the NT supporters that were going to make a difference in this program. I do not feel this way anymore. Too many of you continue to say things like "were young" and "were improving." I hate when many of you say we are improving and that is reason enough to keep Dodge. I can kick you in the nuts or I can kick you in the shins. Most of you would choose to be kicked in the shins (maybe be not Quoner) nonetheless they both suck. I agree we are improving but we are still AWFUL going from REALLY REALLY BAD to just REALLY BAD is not okay with me. We need to push RV for a new coach that will actually give North Texas a chance to be competitive otherwise we are all wasting our time. I think we have so much talent on this team. Think what the few players that are actually producing could do under a competent HC. I see UNT athletics really heading in the right direction with all the facilities that have been built and that are planned to be built soon. However, our biggest project to date the new FB stadium will have no impact on the team in terms of recruiting or a boost from the stadium and students if we open it with Dodge. We need to hire a new HC NOW and give him the time he needs to work with the program in order to open the stadium with a good team. Honestly, do any you really see Dodge being successful at NT long term? I am assuming the answer is no.......so why are we wasting our time.

If we do not fire Dodge immediately then RV should be fired. Only at NT can a coach with Dodges record still not be considered in the "hot seat." HE WILL NEVER TURN THE PROGRAM AROUND!!!! The longer we keep Dodge as HC the deeper the hole the next HC will have to dig himself out of. WE are building a brand new top of the line stadium and we want to open it with this loser? RV please get us a new HC and give him time to work with this team before we open the stadium.......

If dodge is not gone monday morning I am done with this team. I will no longer follow this program Until we get serious about being a legitimate d1 fb team.

I just watched the video on Meangreensports.com. I am not sure if it has already been stated but Darius Carey is playing really well for a true freshman. I think he will be a play maker in years to come.

How many seats do universities generally allocate to the visiting teams fans for football games? Is it a set limit by the NCAA or is the number decided by the individual school/conference? The reason I ask is because I was told by one of my professors that the entire NT allotment for the Alabama game had already been sold. How many seats did Alabama give us to sell? I hope we had a bunch because I would love to have a good UNT showing to support the team and witness our huge upset.

This statement is somewhat true. However, why not make ours the exception? I think such upgrades would help take the program to the next level by adding to the wow factor instead of taking away from it.

The first thing I would do and redo the locker rooms. Although I have never seen them, I am willing to bet they are really old looking. If we were to invest in really fancy locker rooms I bet it would pay in recruiting. The Second thing I would do is cosmetic changes both inside and outside the super pit. Although I think the super pit is a great venue, let be honest its ugly! If the university made some updates to the outside of the pit as well as the concourse I think it would make a huge difference. For example, I would like something to be done with the gigantic ugly black roof outside. Additionally, I think the walls and flooring on the concourse are really ugly as well. If the university updated these three aspects I think the pit would look awesome. Third, I would like to see a jumbo tron. I think the jumbo tron would really add to the pit in that it would make the program feel more "big time." Finally, I do not like how the court is sunken. Thus, I would lift the court and ground floor to be level with the first row seats. I think this would allow the crowd to have a greater effect on opposing teams during free throws.

I have to help my future mother in-law with a garage sale that morning. Thus, do not plan on waiting for me to drive in the parking lot that morning. I should arrive at the tailgate at 4:00 but I will try to show up earlier. I wont have time to get additional food so be prepared to have a "moocher" on your hands this week! I will have my own beer though....

I think the carbon helmet looks cool but the rest is trash. I thought the old uniforms were really ugly. These new uniforms are just plain and cheap looking.

I thought I remeber DRC reporting that UNT and SMU will have 7 on 7 scrimages this summer. I went over to ponyfans and there is a thread disscussing the subject. Smut posters say that SMU is going to scrimmage UNT in Denton this thursday. Does anybody know if there is any fact behind this?

Trash......I'm glad he is gone. I bet he did nothing wrong; the police were just being racist. I am still waiting for the NAACP announcement that the allegations against dodge had no substance.

I picked up the upcoming football season magnet at the coliseum during my sisters hs graduation. The magnet features a cheerleader and part of cams shoulder. I hope the football schedule poster is better.
