From another message board. Baylor to name Drew head basketball coach Star-Telegram Scott Drew, men's basketball coach at Valaparaiso, is to be announced as head coach at Baylor at a news conference Friday, according to a Baylor source. Drew coached one season at Valparaiso, succeeding his father, Homer Drew. Scott Drew was an assistant at Valparaiso for nine seasons, including in 1998, when Valparaiso advanced to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament. Last season, Valparaiso, a member of the Mid-Continent Conference, finished 20-11, including a 62-60 loss to Iowa in the National Invitation Tournament. Drew will replace Dave Bliss, who resigned Aug. 8 after Baylor found evidence of NCAA violations in the men's basketball program.
