  1. Good gosh, don't go there!!!! Peace my friend. DeepGreen
  2. EagleD, not to get into a pissing contest here, but the thread starts out with "muslim terrorists". These are the fanatics that killed over 3,000 Americans on Sept. 11, 2001. Remember that?? Too many people in this country have already forgetten. I am in no way brush stroking all Muslims. Terrorists, whether Muslim or Christian, have no place in my heart and if I choose to joke about them, so be it. It's not about the good Muslim population of the world, only the fanatic muslim terrorists that want to kill Americans, Jews, and any other religion or ethnic group that stands in the way of their beliefs.
  3. Everyone seems to be wondering why Muslim terrorists are so quick to commit suicide. Let's see now................. No Jesus, No Christmas, No television, No cheerleaders, No baseball, No football, No basketball, No hockey, No golf, No tailgate parties, No Wal-Mart, No Home Depot, No pork BBQ, No hot dogs, No burgers, No chocolate chip cookies, No lobster, No shellfish, or even frozen fish sticks, No gumbo, No jambalaya. Rags for clothes and towels for hats. Constant wailing from the guy next-door because he's sick and there are no doctors. Constant wailing from the guy in the tower. More than one wife. You can't shave. Your wives can't shave. You can't shower to wash off the smell of donkey cooked over burning camel dung. The women have to wear baggy dresses and veils at all times. Your bride is picked by someone else. She smells just like your donkey. But your donkey has a better disposition. Then they tell you that when you die it all gets better! I mean, really, is there a mystery here?
  4. I like to see NT in rankings. However, unless I missed it, we are nowhere to be found. Rankings
  5. Here's a good link to all conference and fans message boards. http://collegesportsinfo.com/links/
  6. http://www.unt.edu/mgathletics/Athletics/s...3_04/NT28OK.htm The gals took Oklahoma State to the woodshed. Not bad for a first year program.
  7. We who have such little faith. Down by 14 at the half, 15% whatever shooting, I thought a blowout loss for NT. I went and piddled in the garage. I come back, games over. NT wins by 3. I hold my head in shame.
  8. El Paso is a long way from Houston. Maybe "El Guapo" can give us some miliage statistics.
  9. >>09:08 AM CST on Saturday, February 7, 2004<<< 9:08AM CST seems a little early for a basketball game. Bet those players are gonna have a hard time wakening up Saturday morning. But what do I know.
  10. Link from the Athletic Dept. Softball
  11. I think what a lot of people don't realize is the number of students who attend NT that are from the Northeastern U.S. Basketball "is" a big deal up there. When they see the type of W/L records NT has sported over the past 10 years, I doubt they will flock to the Super Pit. These people know their basketball. When I attended NT, a lot of my close friends were from the NE. Prior to college, I don't think I ever attended a basketball game...never. Not even in high school. Along comes these Yankees, and all of a sudden I go to every home game at the Snake Pit. I was hooked. The Yanks have a lot of basketball savy. Put consistant winning teams on the Super Pit floor and more fans will come out. Even some Texans. I think J. Jones has the team going in the right direction with their recent success.
  12. God forbid anyone show up on their own just to support the team!
  13. If Awasom has an ankle injury from football, why did he play 19 minutes against Arkansas?
  14. Sure doesn't look like the "crowd" was a factor. 289 in attendance.
  15. lady Eagles has 30 turnovers I heard!
  16. At the Lamar game, we looked weak, particular at the point guard position. Remember Tubb's comment (paraphrasing), "NT has Southland Conf quality players". It's going to be another long season.
  17. AustinTalon Do mind people making a few changes to your avatars? Wish I new how to smooth out the edges.
  18. You're linked to an eyewitness-me! I just returned from the Lamar game and we definitley averted a blowout by Lamar. Other than we got back within 10 late in the game, I'd say Jones has a lot of work ahead of him. Pre-game interview, Tubbs said that NT would be a good gauge for his squad since NT was big and physical and were a true D1 Bb team. After the game interview with Tubbs, although he was very supportive of the way NT played in th 2nd half and came back to make it interesting, he went on to say the "NT was the equivalent of a Southland Conf. team. I didn't take that as a compliment. Lamar has a fairly "new" team under Tubbs, but they play pretty decent basketball. Bad on free throws, otherwise it would have been a much worse loss for NT. From my seat, NT could be in for a long season again. Are we sure Jones can recruit?
  19. Any Mean Green fans out there from SE Texas going to the Lamar game in Beaumont this Saturday night? If so, let me know as I will be attending. Tubbs stated that he is "looking forward to their first test against a true D1 opponent".
  20. Well I certainly hate to see ANY player leave the North Texas program or the University. I hope this is just a rumour.
  21. For those who will be visiting the fair city of Houston for the Super bowl in January! 1. You must learn to pronounce the city name. It is "Ewe-stun", not "Houston." Oh yeah, and it is pronounced "San Phal-ee-pay," not "San Phil-eep" (San Felipe). 2. Forget the traffic rules you learned elsewhere. Houston has its own version of traffic rules. Hold on and pray. There is no such thing as a dangerous high-speed chase in Houston. We all drive like that. 3. All directions start with, "Go to Loop 610".... which has no beginning and no end. 4. The Chamber of Commerce calls getting through traffic... a "Scenic Drive." 5. The morning rush hour is from 6:00 AM to 10:00 AM. The evening rush hour is from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Friday's rush hour starts Thursday morning. 6. If you actually stop at a yellow light, you will be rear-ended, cussed out and possibly shot. When you are the first one off the starting line, count to five when the light turns green before going, to avoid getting into any cross-traffic's way. 7. Kuykendahl Road can ONLY be pronounced by a native Houstonian. 8. Construction on I-10, I-45, US 59 and Loop 610 is a way of life and a permanent form of entertainment. 9. All unexplained smells are explained by the phrase, "Oh, we must be in Pasadena!!!." 10.If someone actually has their turn signal on, it's probably a factory defect. 11.All Suburbans have total right-of-way. 12.The minimum acceptable speed on Loop 610 is 85 mph. 13.The wrought iron on windows in east Houston is NOT ornamental. 14.Never stare at the driver of the car with the bumper sticker that says, "Keep honking, I'm reloading." In fact, don't honk at anyone. 15.If you are in the left lane, and only going 70 mph in a 60 mph zone, people are not waving when they pass you. 16.The Sam Houston Toll Road is our daily version of NASCAR. 17.If it's 100 degrees, Thanksgiving must be next weekend. 18.When in doubt, remember that all unmarked exits lead to Louisiana. 19.You don't have to wait for an exit to get off a freeway, just follow the ruts in the grass to the frontage road like everyone else. This is how Houston residents notify Texas Department of Transportation where exits should have been built.
  22. Indiana Lady Hoosiers 79 North Texas Lady Eagles 60
  23. Lady Eagles are down 44-25 against the Lady Hoosiers at halftime. You can listen to the game on the internet on KNTU. (KNTU.com)
