  2. Nope. Being released is a requirement for her to be able to be on scholarship at another school, but has no bearing on when she can play.
  3. I might be getting them confused, but I could of sworn either Robertson or Falwell went on tv after 911 and blamed it on the homosexuality that America allows or something to that effect. I think many people tend to gloss over the views of religous leaders such as Falwell, because they are of the same relgion, but the can be pretty damn intolerant of people not of their same beliefs.
  4. I've read up on the reference you are talking about - and could find nothing about him "seeking". They both sat on a Board that they were separately appointed to by the Mayor of Chicago, hardly Barack Obama seeking terrorist affiliation.
  5. That's funny, ask Mccain a year and a half ago and he was against offshore drilling. He also proposed an immigration bill, but then didn't vote for it. Don't kid yourself if you think Obama is the only one who refines his position. Also, I don't recall Obama ever saying "I'm friends with terrorists", so you can get off that talking point.
  6. I heard a speech from Obama that discussed this issue. He basically said that he still was not in favor of offshore drilling, but would vote for it if that was what it took in order to get an energy plan that had other features that he felt where important. So I wouldn't say it's so much of a changing a tune as it is agreeing to a compromise to get stuff done.
  7. Gas prices suck. Democrats are wimps and Republicans hate the environment. Oh, and Barack Obama is a Muslim who hates babies and kicks dogs.
  8. A big earthquake or some more melting glaciers and you just might have some beach front property in Arizona
  9. I don't think Flyer is trying to contend that the war planning was perfect, if that's what you meant by quoting his post. To your last point, I really think that's the quandry (sp?) we are in and the reason previous leaders were hesitant about going into Iraq. I'm afraid that no matter how long we stay, that soon after we leave the country will return to chaos. Deep Green, to your point about WMD. Everyone knows that Sadaam had WMD's at some point, I believe the gassing of the Kurds occured in the 80's pre gulf war. The question that needed to be answered is, did Sadaam have weapons of mass destruction after the first gulf war, which would have been prohibited. After reading some of the declassified information, and even listening to Bush, they do not believe that he did. I guess it's hard to disprove that if people are inclined to believe they were moved to a secret location in another country, even though there is no evidence of that.
  10. As an accountant, more specifically an auditor, I especially enjoyed that one.
  11. 6-9 and 225 sounds good. Alot of big name schools on the list, I wonder what our chances are? I know we could definitely use some more inside presence after Stewart and Howerton leave.
  12. Ok, just wondering because I had read where you had said in another thread that oil speculation does not lead to higher prices. So it seems the statement contradicts that, and therefore I was just trying to determine what you meant.
  13. The second point was really what I was trying to address. Obviously, the later is true. I was just trying to receive clarification on what was meant by the 60% comment.
  14. I'm confused by something in your post, are you saying speculation makes up 60% of the current price?
  15. My source could be wrong, but this shows an ROI of 23.46%. THe first number is Exxon - next is industry - then Sector - then S&P 500. 16. Not saying I support the WFP tax, but the proposals have all had incentives to increase development of alternative energy as well as incentives to reinvest profits in the business. As to the other issue you posed in the bottom, I may be mistaken, but I didn't think 401K money was taxed using capital gains rates.
  17. Wow that really sucks for them.
  18. I think it will hold some of that loss. I think the market is realizing that there is definitely a point where the increase in price is shifting demand downward. I think what Quoner highlighted is definitely playing a factor, and OPEC has decreased it's demand forecast as well.
  19. If it was Bush saying drill was the cause, I think oil would have dropped when he said he was going to lift the ban. I think the drop has more to do with the forecasts that American oil demand is dropping due to issues within our economy.
  20. Unfortunately, I don't see that happening. Hopefully I have to eat crow.
  21. I'm sorry something is seriously wrong with you if you can really equate stealing someones property to rape. There's a big difference between having to replace their TV to having to live with the pain and torment that lingers with rape victims for the rest of their life. Don't get me wrong, I am for people being able to defend THEIR property when THEY are in danger.
  22. That's way worse than the 17 Chicago students who have died from guns as of March 4, 2008. It's into the 20's or 30's now, will find a link later. http://chicagoist.com/2008/03/04/eight_cps_stude.php
  23. Rick, Actually the point is that guy was attempting to make a point that getting shot down is some how important in the context of the race or else he wouldn't have pointed out that Senator Obama had never done that. I guess it all boils down to a person's perspective. When I first heard the comments, I was pretty offended, but that was because I only heard what Clark said without context. Placed in context, I actually am not that bothered with it. He was just responding to the other indivdual saying well Senator Obama has never flown/been shot down, and he just pointed out that he didn't think that qualifies someone. Which I agree with. As to the other point about military service. I do agree somewhat with that point as it relates to his support of Senator Kerry. As to his own military service, General Clark stated his military service in leading NATO missions in Kosovo (I think) are what prepared him for the Presidency. He stated that Senator McCain's service did not prepare him as well because he was never a commander of a wartime unit.
  24. Unfortunately, I tend to agree. The only solution is a comprise. I'd really like to see us develop some of the shale in Colorado/Wyoming and other places.
