  1. Brainard! Gotta love the "under-sized guy" who plays his heart out and performs. I think he will catch a few passes from Riley this year.
  2. Excited...yet very scared. I think this team has tons of potential, but we all know what potential means...you haven't done anything yet.
  3. I don't think that's the case at all. Advertisers align themselves with products/personalities they think are positive for their product and are viewed positively by their intended targets. Clearly these advertisers felt that with this individual that was no longer the case. Same way that I doubt wal-mart or some gun manufacturer is going to run advertisements during Olbermann.
  4. I definitely think the mileage for the program should be based on the actual mpg the vehicle gets. So take the EPA estimate and knock of 3-5 mpg. I don't know all the details of the program, but it would be nice if the program also had an age clause like the one for Texas did. Something like under 18 mpg or 10 years or older would be nice. Stimulate the economy while getting some of the vehicles that tend to be high polluters off the road.
  5. I will ask my friend Bill about this.
  6. Saying you disagree with something is not saying you want to get in another Country's business.
  7. I see eulesseagle in the process of posting...the anticipation is more than I can take.
  8. So where is the parallel then to the US military and the Honudran military. Lets presume that the Honduran military was justified in what it did, how would the US military be justified in doing the same? How has Obama done anything that paralleled what the Honduran President attempted to do? Darn right I would be mad if there wasn't a preaceful transfer of power after an election in our Country - nothing, I repeat nothing has happened that indicates that wouldn't happen. I really thing people like the poster who started this thread have gone far of the deep end with this stuff...just like those "Loose Change" people did after 9-11.
  9. Exactly my point, but I guess what kind of repsonse should I expect from people who get their "news" from World Net Daily and Rush Limbaugh.
  10. So what you are saying is that in order to keep having free elections, we should have the military remove someone who has just been freely elected? Wow...
  11. Most of the stuff I can forgive, but the Dickerson and Johnson thing...that crosses the line!
  12. I think I would fit that bill. If all you are looking for is someone who is "just not good" and loves our school - I'm the guy. George is way too qualified for the position.
  13. I would have no qualms if she stepped down because McCain won and she was VP, but to leave when you have not been elected to higher office? I don't think I necessarily support that, unless of course there are mitigating circumstances. The explanations I have read such as "she is escaping politics as usual" and "she was burnt out from the daily grind of the past 2 1/2 years" are not acceptable responses in my opinion.
  14. Ding, ding, ding...we have a winner. Sometimes the smartest thing to do is nothing (or almost nothing).
  15. I got a tax cut, may not be a rate reduction, but I will get a tax credit for 2009 that wasn't there before. I consider that a tax cut.
  16. If any preacher is preaching to take someones life - he might want to read the bible a little more and consider what jesus would do...
  17. I'm still without power in North Dallas...it went off and on last night, but has been off since like 6:30 this morning.
  18. I know none of you watch Keith Olbermann, and even though I tend to agree with some of what he says, I take things with a grain of salt. He mentioned this on his show last night: http://www.fivethirtyeight.com/2009/05/new...epublicans.html If those numbers are true, could it be that the closing appear to be targeting republicans because there just aren't that many car dealers donating to democrats? I can't really say anything in relation to the Arkansas car dealers in Flyer's post as I haven't been able to research it.
  19. You can't believe anything the liberal media writes...if it's not from world net daily, why bother reading?
  20. As far as why other hotel chains have not stepped in a built the hotel if it's such a good deal - I think it's partially what Flyer said in that many already have a hotel in the area. I think one think that seems to be the driving force for it being a good deal for the city and not necessarily for private enterprise is the tax revenue it could raise. A normal hotel hands all the hotel and other taxes over to the government, however if in this case the hotel is owned by the city that money goes into the pockets. I don't know what the tax rates are, but that tax could be the difference between running at a loss/break even or making money, something that wouldn't be available to a privately owned hotel. Additionally if the hotel brings in conventions that would not have been here otherwise that's additional revenue from sales taxes when people eat/shop in the area when they are in town for the convention. All issues that wouldn't necessarily come into play in a private hotel deciding if they should build or not.
  21. I agree with the HB 222 - I'm tired of wasting gas to go lose my money. I'd rather do it close to home.
  22. I think some of you are missing eeally's point regarding extremists. I think he is not saying people who protest are the extremists, rather the people who think their respective states should leave the US are the extremists. I may be wrong, but I only heard liberals make threats to leave the country themselves - not threats to make their states leave the country. I fully support the tea party and all other peoples right to protest, that what you should do when you don't agree with what the government or some other entity is doing. I do think it crosses the line into extremism when the idea of seceding is thrown on there.
  23. I'm hoping for a potential impact transfer with multiple years left (like Odufuwa) or a high potential freshman we could potentially redshirt next year.
  24. My concern is that after 3 20 win seasons we are competeting with St Francis (NY) (10-19 IN 08-09) for a player who doesn't seem to fill the need of sharpshooter or ball hander as pointed out by CBL. If he is truley a lock down defender, then I will be happy with this signing. Otherwise I think the scholarship could have been spent better somewhere else. I do like the fact that he is listed at 6-4/6-5 (hopefully that's accurate). A bigger option at the 2 is necessary, although Shorter may already fit that bill.
