I think your numbers are a little off. Based on the article below, his base was about $225, but he had incentives like shoe/apparel (i.e. guaranteed) to make is salary about $900K. Also, for the record not saying I support this hire!

I wish we were putting away opponents like TX State earlier in the game then this, but hopefully all these close wins are helping the team to learn how to fight in close games. I have been extremely impressed with our ability to perform in pressure situations. Definitely would like to get to a position where we have better minute distribution.

Not saying I agree with the hire, but the record they listed is wrong. He has more wins than that. That might be the conference record.

Alot of those stats you are asking for aren't necessarily posted in each box score - sometimes they only include the leader in those categories if at all. HS stats are difficult to track down.

I have no idea if Canales can recruit to UNT, but I do know he can recruit. In the 09 recruiting class per Rivals, he recruited a four star a 2 three star players. In 2008 another four star and 2 3 stars, including the #8 QB and #44 player in the country.

I am hoping that either the ESPN article was poorly worded or just got the point wrong about the scheduling. I don't think I have a problem with an average 150 RPI over the whole OOC, but the other interpretation could cause some many problems. What about longstanding rivalries or local matchups with teams outside the 150? I would hate not to be able to play UTA, or other local schools due to restrictions on scheduling. I think they add way too much excitement to get overly hung up on RPI.

I guess I interpreted the ESPN article different, the way I read it was each team on your schedule had to be top 150 (or top 150 3 year average)...maybe I am mistaken.
