  1. I wondered the same thing. I saw the Army Combine results, which listed 5.11, then saw another that listed in the 4.8s. I'm not reading too much into those given the pretty wide discrepancies.
  2. I noticed the same thing. Specifically in :43 where he just blows up the blocker on the edge (I couldn't see well enough to determine if it was a TE or a tackle, though I think it was a tackle) and crushes the QB. Blood got pumping watching that.
  3. Although I am in agreement with you on this, my tendency is to refine the expression of the experience. To do that, I can only turn to that great sage who dominated the culture my first year at UNT, Ford Fairlane: " [political discussions are] like masturbating with a cheese grater: slightly amusing, but mostly painful."
  4. This is a game-changer folks. And not just in the obvious way. The English language periodically changes, words take on new meanings due to major events. Mark this day down, because 4-5 years from now, one of you will be somewhere, and someone will say to you "You got a lemon." This will be followed by a hi-five because it will mean a good thing.
  5. S1W = Sign 1 (more) Wide (receiver)? was that a bit of a stretch? yes. and yet it actually related to the topic.
  6. I didn't realize I'd be wearing my happy pants at work today. I should have worn a different shirt.
  7. Agreed that that sort of doctrinaire crap doesn't belong in this country
  8. Agreed. And the body control he demonstrated in the recovery of the muffed kickoff @3:25 is incredible. Even if he doesn't contribute right away as a starter on D, he could be a special teams ace on day one as a gunner. Think Kenny Gant circa mid 90s.
  9. Ya just need one. This one.
  10. Did you know that there is no chin behind Chuck Norris's beard? Just another fist. However, it's Wintrich's.
  11. Wintka!
  12. He might have just said "I helped keep your job and got you a promotion. Now make sure I get the rock 30+ times a game or else!" I usually try to reserve a certain rationality at this time of the year and try not to get all caught up in "potential," i.e., it aint happened yet, things. However, count me in the wood category over this news, and I expect an onslaught of motivational catch phrases next year. Lock the Gate. Release the Hounds. I Drink Your Milkshake.
  13. The GMG family is pleased.
  14. Abusing Haikus Being nice to each other THAT is so Brokeback
  15. Count me in the group that doesn't give a crap how big the name is, how many hands they would shake at the Taco Cabana, or how much baggage they would truck into town when they arrived. Will they win games once here, yes or no? Now, this is mostly a theoretical matter, and that's why ADs get paid big bucks, to do the research, assess intangibles, and essentially roll the dice and have to live with the results. Will they win games once here? Concerning Canales: It's interesting, isn't it? Given the injuries, it's hard not to be impressed. But for me this is what it comes down to at the moment: Western Kentucky: Beat a team we should have beat. I liked the style of the win, but it's one we should have won, so it's very cool but not completely mind blowing. Troy: hung in there against a team that should have locked us in its gimp box and thrown away the key. A loss is a loss, so it's hard to start the coronation ceremony just yet. But at least it was a fun game to watch from 15:00 1Q to :45 4Q. He's auditioning, and doing more than enough on the field to merit a sober look. But he definitely still needs to do more, quite a bit more, to seal the deal. T-Shirts are cute; Ws are priceless. If he keeps winning, I don't envy RV and the decision he's paid the big bucks to have to live with.
  16. Even if we are able to get the Love Shack to Denton, the city needs to do more to reach out to the students. UNT just doesn't have a history of supporting the burger joints in its own backyard. Maybe we could all print up some menus and distribute them at football games, have the chef make public appearances at basketball games, that sort of stuff.
  17. Good distinction. I should have referenced the Wildboyz instead. Jackass is too ad-hoc to sustain humor. However, the risable wit of the Dramaturgical Dyad of Steve-O and Chris Pontius rivals Lear and his fool, or Thersites and Agamemnon. But you are also correct that Small Wonder was the bomb.
  18. It just shows that he hasn't read the board, or watched television, much in the past 5 years. This place is more and more like a Jackass skit than anything else half the time. I'll leave it to others to determine which poster is Steve-O, Party Boy, Bam, and Wee-Man. Oklahoma. Oklahoma Oklahoma Oklahoma.
  19. Look. The Lamar Middle School band has won countless UIL 1st place awards and totally dominates its level of competition. It's not a high school or college plan; it's just a band plan. We should immediately hire their director to take over the Green Brigade. Success is success at any level, and volume equals success. What could go wrong?
  20. It was nice to see us use the wheel route to score for once. The game is fun to watch.
  21. The utilization of Byrd (or other players not the obvious weapons) will tell a lot about Canales' potential as a HC. Dunbar is going to be keyed on by opposing defenses, so any offensive success will come from creative utilization of other players' talents and innovative schemes. A shame about Hamilton, and yet there still appears to be depth at this position. Should be interesting to see whether Byrd, Stradford, or hopefully Mosley (he's back now, right?) get a chance to shine today.
  22. The only Express I'm interested in getting on this season is the Ribwich World Tour. Who's with me?!?
