Who is Chase Walling again? Is he debuting a new line at this year's Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week?
-
it could've been his cousin. I just remember that he was connected to Michael in some way.

The marvelous "Pay the Man" Stadium at UNT?

We actually tried something like this back in the 90s. We had one of Michael Irvin's younger brothers on the team, Nathaniel is the name I think. Actually got Michael to stand on the sideline for a televised game. I don't think Nathaniel ever saw playing time though. If I'm wrong, someone correct me.

I'd like to play because I think we could beat them. And our players feel the same way. If they'd like to play on a Safeway parking lot ... just give us a date and time.

I noticed the same thing. He just looks like he loves playing the game and is having a great time. He had a smile on his face walking out onto the court, playing D, on the bench, eating cheerios. I don't think he knows how to frown. He's also the team cheerleader when on the bench. Agreed. I couldn't believe he was a freshman. He had a calm demeanor in the half court, and could turn on some serious jets when running a break. He's the real deal, and as he gets more experience, he could be something very special. Tough guy. Took one hellacious shot in the ribs, but came back and had a monster dunk that changed the momentum with about 7 or 8 minutes to go. The team was on cruise control after that. Same here to you, SouthBend and Tasty. And thanks to you guys for helping me get acquainted with the players since I do not follow basketball that closely. There's a lot to be excited about as this group develops. And don't worry about the mustard stain. I did it on purpose. I remembered an old finger-painting class and that if you mix yellow and blue, you get green. I was trying to turn my blue jeans into some pantalones verdes malos, but it didn't quite work out. What none of us knew until now is that Kelly Green is a chromatic mutant developed at Area 51, and cannot be replicated with earth ingrediants. That would explain all the shade of green controversy. That was classy, especially with Brandon's family in attendance.

You know, I'm actually probably one of those guys that would think that. And to be clear, the ref(s) didn't cause us to lose the game tonight. Maybe it was the Mean Green Kool Aid running through my veins getting to see our team live tonight, but I still say that guy was an A-hole. I also won't contest anyone that calls me out for it. I just had a blast tonight and am basking in the moment.

CMJ and Cooley are the resident hoops gurus, so all I can give is my eyewitness but amateur perspective on the game. But CMJ hit it on the head, though I would add that the offensive game lacked a lot in discpline and concentration. Columbia was the embodiement of the cliche about Ivy League basketball. Not very quick or athletic (save for their number 10; he's their Jose Barea and gave our defense fits), but they had intense fundamentals and concentration. They hit about everything they threw up (at half, it was 80% for 3s) and never got rattled. But our guys were so much quicker and more physical. They pressed the inbounds, trapped the ball, and as CMJ also said, contested most of the 3 attempts. But offensively there were a lot of mishandled passes, missed put-backs, and indecisive shot selections to keep up with Columbia tonight. I hope it's just a case of young guys still adjusting to each other and it will improve (which it should). And though it also sounds like a cliche, one particular ref was a total A-hole tonight.

Are you guys in the upper or lower section?
-
I found it to be too hip hop for my old soul and stopped checking it. But point taken. Let the cyber stalking commence?
-
I'll be there tonight. I don't know what any of you look like. I'm assuming that everyone is wearing green. If not, have a cardboard cutout of Matress Mac gripping some dollar bills in the eagle claw so I can find you guys. Or something equally subtle.
-
I'll be there Saturday and Sunday. Sorry. I got swamped at work and spaced that it was this weekend. If there's a semi-official Mean Green hangout spot pre or post game, let me know.

The Sarcasm Thread

More non-sequitur UH Coogs and wacky tv salesmen references would get this thread an invite to an AQ conference. -

Oh Yeah. I was at that game. We were on like the 5 yard line, and the ball was snapped out of the back of the endzone resulting in a safety I believe.

I've been bumped down to Southland Conference status. I guess me and TxStBobcat can duke it out to take over the WAC section of the rankings.

Bunk In Bulk

Typical Tory elitism dismissing America's native vernacular as not being refined enough. Will this war never end? -
Terribly sorry 93-98. It's a geek thing. I couldn't help myself. Carry on with the recruiting news (and thanks for clearing me up on them not being twins. The Pertile brothers (Fred and Corry) also graduated from my high school before attending NT, so I've remembered them over the years).

Twins? Maybe the second coming of the Pertile brothers?

You are clearly just an OTI. If you were an OTVIII like myself, you would easily see the truth before you. The lib agenda of the lame-stream media is just a red-herring to keep us unaware of the greater, larger conspiracy. It's a front for the real threat, and it's right under our noses. Time to go to the chalk-board folks. Keep up: 'Liberal' spelled backwards is 'Larebil.' Get it? No? Code. It's all code to deceive us. Follow. Larebil can be broken into three independent syllabic units. La, re, bil. Get it now? Come on. It's so obvious people. Ok. Think acronyms (units of linguistic information compressed into graphic shorthand [for ease of communication or deception? you decide]). LA RE bil (Ok. This is how dang clever they are. Instead of using the acronym BC, they mixed it up and just chopped off the final 'l' just to throw us off their trail. This conspiracy is so deep, so well thought out, we don't stand a chance.) This is the true axis of evil folks, the mother of all intergalactic Triumvirates. And it's right there in front of us. And while I'm busy exposing this crass cabal of nefarious nabobs, could I talk you into buying some gold?
