Can't We Just Get Along
Shuke-D replied to GreenBat's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
Allright everyone. Sing it together now. In case you haven't noticed, the FOOTBALL board has been jumping with some good stuff lately. Might want to check it out. -
If Happy Fun Ball begins to smoke, get away immediately. Seek shelter and cover head. Happy Fun Ball may stick to certain types of skin. When not in use, Happy Fun Ball should be returned to its special container and kept under refrigeration... Failure to do so relieves the makers of Happy Fun Ball, Wacky Products Incorporated, and its parent company Global Chemical Unlimited, of any and all liability. Ingredients of Happy Fun Ball include an unknown glowing substance which fell to Earth, presumably from outer space. Happy Fun Ball has been shipped to our troops in Saudi Arabia and is also being dropped by our warplanes on Iraq. Do not taunt Happy Fun Ball. Happy Fun Ball comes with a lifetime guarantee. Happy Fun Ball ACCEPT NO SUBSTITUTES!

Sounds awefully French. Though, I do love Formidable Opponent.

John Hughes, Dead At 59
Shuke-D replied to UNTflyer's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
Not a fan of all of his movies, but Uncle Buck was a pretty decent flick in my opinion. So was Dutch, but everyone tells me I'm an idiot for liking that one as well. -
Howdy all. I think I've found a certain type of person we can all agree to hate, regardless of our political affiliation. A friend of mine (an Aggie) forwarded me a Facebook poll "Which Texas College do you Prefer." I was pleased that it listed UNT (well, Eagles, so I'm assuming it's UNT) as an option. I put in my vote, then started scrolling through the comments section. Page 2, I ran into this little cyber-douchery. Mods, if I'm really screwing the pooch by outing this guy, delete my post and ban me appropriately. I don't mind. It will have been worth it: "Jack Keith Williams7:37 pm Eagles? As in North Texas? I can't believe they are an option. Yeah, I'm UNT alumni but I can't help it... I've been a UT fan since I was a kid!" I don't know how to properly post FB links, so here's what I have in case any of you want to go add your votes for us (or if someone can link it properly, go ahead and fix it for me). We're WAY behind: http://apps.facebook.com/realpolls/results/yug4soczm

A Request To Our Members
Shuke-D replied to Harry's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
Too many complete sentences, extended arguments, and coherent points. Harry, could you please reduce this to a couple dependent clauses, unorthodox capitalizations and alarmist bolding of political code words so we can tell whether you're a libr'l or conservithug and automatically love or hate the fact you posted it, regardless of what the point actually was? j/k obviously. Well said. -

Careful what you ask for. J to the L to the G is an absolute B** A** btw. No cars exploding, no guns, just a camera and life at an askew, poignant angle. -

Zombie threads rise up, but from different graves??????? -
I see Jamel is not listed on the two-deep for returns. Is the competition that good? I remember reading on here last year that before he got hurt he looked like a firecracker returning kicks. Would just love to read that our return game gives the offense less real-estate to have to deal with next year.

Do U Believe Tim Tebow
Shuke-D replied to NT03's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
Frankly, a guy that scores that much on the field has pretty much filled the quota of a normal human that he doesn't need to look elsewhere. Good for him. -
Look four posts above this question? eulesseagle Posted Yesterday, 02:06 PM perhaps she, too, can follow the law and "pony up" and pay her tickets. what say you to that quoner? perhaps you can refresh everyone's memory about your racist comments that got YOU, SIR banned from the board. Is that what you were asking for?????

Whose Lawn, Obama?
Shuke-D replied to meangreenbob's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
Andy Kaufman and Jerry Lawler made a ton of money doing exactly this. I'm just saying. -
Who's this new receiver, Abcdefgh? I don't see him on the roster. Is he another transfer? Will the NCAA give him a waiver and he can play this year? Are we getting help from his old coach in the appeal? Man, he could really give us a boost and open things up for Cam!.

I just want to go on record that I'm now hoping that zombie Andy Kaufman has risen from the grave and is punking us on GMG: -
I agree with you on this actually. What I could have said better in my post was that, for people concerned about the direction and haste of the policies he is championing, focusing on this type of stuff is a distraction. And it's clear that President Obama let his personal relationship with Skip affect how he comported himseld as POTUS. Rookie mistake. Agreed on that. All people make them; hopefully he will learn from it. I just liked that he made some type of acknowledgment of it. Even the weasely politician type. Doesn't mean he wasn't wrong though.

More to the point of the original post: President Obama f'd up. Realized it pretty quickly, that it was stupid for him to say the officers' acted 'stupidly' when he did not know all the facts, and owned up to his mistake. Some would call that manning up and admitting he was wrong. Takes a pretty big man to admit that. Say what you will on and on about his policies, which are obviously open to debate at the moment and should be given the proper time to fully understand and not rushed, but this is a non-issue unless you just hate the guy for being who he is. Now, back to Hill Country Supremecy threads [keeps looking in storage for photos of Big Bend and Mt. Guadalupe trips to scan].
