My question in two parts: 1. Is he over 21? 2. Has the International Association of Athletics Federations done a gender test yet?

Wow, do some of us look silly for nominating him for the Nobel Peace Prize before the season started?

Considering the tone and style of what passes for 'political' discussion these days, I think you should train by pissing into the wind. It will have the correct effect. -

Good catch cwb. I hadn't caught the press conference with the Director of Nasa and his Project Manager. -

I so can't wait for the Toby Keith song about this. One satisfying thing was the satellite photos of that punk right when we launched. -
TFLF. I'm so feeling your proposed new recruiting strategy. If it is followed, the defense could get a new name:

Atta Boy Dave!
Shuke-D replied to FirefightnRick's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
That would be more like a Jeff Foxworthy skit. A Dave list would be more like: "Top Ten Excuses Dave Should say on the Witness Stand." I'll go first. Number 10 [drum roll] "I said plants, not pants. Would you please water my plants!" -
"ratings," not "rankings." I had the same initial reaction and had to do a double-take. [disregard. you had already caught it before I could finish typing]

I'm a little concerned at this point in the season, and here's why. Royce Hill breaks a big kick return; Carey takes a punt to the house, though it's called back on a foul; Dunbar breaks a 66-yard TD on his first carry. It's clear that there is all sorts of speed on the team this year. Now, these three guys are still young, as is a lot of the team. But, with all this speed and athleticism, it's hard to believe we're getting blown out like this. I don't get to watch the games, but it's hard to at least not wonder if it is a matter a game-planning. Not nay-saying since I'm not there, but it's hard to not begin to worry a bit. Hope I'm wrong.

Crap. Reading that, I can't wait for Thanksgiving and our annual "let's keep the city boy normal" deer hunting trip with my family to get here. And speaking of Sage and ground meat, I'm still remembering that Colts game last year when Rosenfels got chewed up by three defenders and coughed up the ball to lose the game.

Keep this type of stuff up, and the mods will tune this thread out too.

There was no tv coverage for the game out here, so I'm having to go on stats and what I heard on the radio. Are these positives the team can take from this loss?: It looks like we had no turnovers. Pretty impressive overall. C/ATT YDS AVG TD INT Nathan Tune 16/23 126 5.5 1 0 Was Nate a world-beater today? No. But that's a good completion percentage for a first start, no ints, etc. Considering the competition, is it safe to say that we have a backup qb who is starter quality? Penalties: 3-27. Again, not world-beater status, but that seems like an improvement in discipline, especially consdering the frustration the players must have felt. Sounds like they kept their emotions in check and stuck to what they were coached to do. Not saying there are not aspects of the game to critique, but those stats jumped out at me. Anyone who actually saw the game should feel free to correct me or add their perspective.

[sits down to write letter] Dear Dad. Hi there. I just got the urge to send you a letter. I read something today that made me think of you. I remember all those little league games I played in. Some we won; Others, we got our butts handed to us. I also remember the JV game in High School when I took a handoff up the gut off center and got levelled by the middle linebacker I didn't see because he was in zone coverage off to my right (my peripheral vision was never any good, was it?). Remember that he gave me a viscious concussion, and I lost my sight for about 40 seconds? I got up, trying to find the huddle by following voices, and stumbled around, eventually falling down. Man, that must have been embarrassing for you until after the game when you were told how badly I was injured. I spent 2 weeks overcoming the effects, temporary memory loss, disorientation. Anyway, I just wanted to say thanks. During those bad times, you never stood in the stands saying crap like "I should put a wig on him and put him in the girls' league so he could dominate them," or "I wish I could trade him in for one of those guys. Then I could be proud!" You showed up for every game and cheered 'cause I was one of yours. When I did well, you said "good job, but you better practice hard for next week" at the dinner table that night. When I did badly, you said "That was a tough game, but you played hard. You better practice hard for next week. If you want to throw the ball around later or go over plays, let me know." I appreciate the way you handled yourself during those tough losses. It taught me a lot that I have applied to my life since then. Take care Dad.

The people posting on the Narnia board are crack-pots. They're saying there's no way the White Witch will cover the -38 point spread. Are you kidding me!!!!!!!! Her starting minotaurs weigh 365lbs each. It's gonna be a massacre I tells ya. Not even close. Oh, and put me down for one, please, in the dumbest avatar raffle.

Apparently, that's less gay than saying you'd hook up with Serena Williams. I also didn't realize Nathan was actually Jake Gyllenhaal. -

Thank you M'am, may I have another. -
Will be curious to hear the take from everyone who made it to the game. From the radiocast, it sounded like a sloppy game with lots of mistakes for both teams. Outside of those, was there execution by the players, smart schemes from the coaches, heart (which it did sound like), and other factors?

Couldn't get KNTU live on the internet. Anyone else have this problem, or is it just me?
