  1. Something about Lake Charles in the middle of winter that isn't very appealing to me. ...I'll go, but the fun of taking a little mini-vacation in New Orleans will be missed. I hope we're only displaced for a season, but I have my doubts. This merger is somewhat old news in the industry, but should be a good one. Wyndham has needed some fresh blood, and Cendant is a good solid company, looking for a more polished, high-end image. Should make for a good corporate marriage.
  2. Quite... New Scrappy Thread
  3. Interesting postscript to this story since you went to Berkner (as did I). After College, Scott came back to Berkner to teach, where he coached football and taught computer science classes. While there he met and later married Michelle Williams (formerly Ashcraft, now Davis), who was the drillteam director at Berkner Highschool. As of a couple of years ago, they still lived in the area as they bumped into my wife's (also a Berkner Grad) parents at their kid's soccer game. Scott started to teach there the year after I graduated, (I think) so I only met him in passing a time or two when I was at drill team events that my wife (Girlfriend at the time) was performing in, and was introduced to him. I was going to UNT at the time, but I didn't know of his history at the time. Nice guy though.
  4. Offensive Line... the entire line. If they can control the line of scrimmage and let the guys run, it's over for Tulsa. ...if not, we're in the same type of game we were in Saturday night against the Raiders, and we won't be as lucky as this last time.
  5. And let's also not forget--let's not forget, Dude--that keeping wildlife, an amphibious rodent, for uh, domestic, you know, within the city--that isn't legal either.
  6. Actually the bulk of his assesment of the ESPN article is correct. ...but most sports writers think they are the only folks that know what they are talking about... they feel they have a monopoly on the concept. They don't like the competition the blogs offer... See the Mainstream media's horror when discussing talk radio and the internet blogers... ...so, don't get so upset... F him. Who cares what he thinks? Not worth the stress to worry what he thinks.
  7. They are all VERY important... In order of Priority: 1. Win OOC Games (As in THIS WEEKEND) 2. Win the 'Belt (As in this year) 3. Build a New Stadium (As in This Decade) In otherwords, the most important thing for this team is what is NEXT. In this case, it's an OCC game. Ask this question to me the week we play our last 'Belt opponent to clinch the 'Belt, and I'll vote for Win the Belt first.
  8. I'd just like to point out that instaead of hand the ball off to our RB's, the coaches decided to put the game in the hands of a Freshman QB. If you look at yards per carry, Cobbs and Thomas certainly did their job. They were simply gone too far to infrequently, IMHO. Good game though... The Freshman QB looked decent, and if he settles down a little and gets a little more experience under his belt, he'll be effective. Remember, this is a young team. If we can prove we are good this year, we've got Thomas for 2 more seasons, and this QB for 3 more, in combination with squad that will have some real experience... We could be set up to run the table for the next few years! Should be fun!
  9. Man, I really disagree... In fact, I really like the font the numbers are in, and I must say, I like the embroidered numbers when compared to the iron on look seen on most unis, including in the pros (See Dallas Cowboys). I like the new font, and it's VERY easy to see the North Texas on the helmet. Other than NORTH TEXAS in the prescribed font, what else would you have rather seen? The new eagle logo would have been OK, but since the Football Team is the "MEAN GREEN" I'd say that would just add to the confusion.
  10. This is like... EXACTLY what I think.
  11. Real close, could go either way. I'm REALLY up on this team though... I think they will be quite good this year, but I'm concerned that we haven't played a game yet. I think we'll pull it out. NT - 35 MT - 30 Lots of offense.
  12. There's a game this weekend?
  13. Thanks guys!
  14. Does anyone know the info on this? Will it be televised, on PPV or what?
  15. I think there is a real good chance we lose this game. Not because we're not a better team than MTSU, but simply because we have such a young team with zero experience and time on the field in a game. On the flip side, we have a distinct advantage - We get to see MTSU tape, and they have to play us blind. IF our team is ready and doesn't take a quarter to get their legs underneath them, this clould be what gives us our best chance to win. Win or Lose, I think we can still take care of business this season against the rest of the 'Belt, and I agree with those who say MTSU will probably lose 2 games in the 'Belt. ...it's going to be a fun season no matter what happens though... If these young guys perform well, even if we don't 5-peat this year, we've got a good young team who will only get better.
  16. Do we have any idea when these should be shown to the public?
  17. Dude... gettin' pissed at the whole fightsong thing... PUKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ...they need to add a "your own music" module like many games already do on XBOX, and I'll put it in myself... !@#$#$%@#$%!@#$!@ ...but it owns on HD.
  18. This poll is AWESOME! I'm almost giddy at the optimism being shown here... ...post this poll a couple of months ago, and the results would have been HUGELY different! GMG!!!
  19. ROTFLMAO!!! That's classic...
  20. Well... We're getting closer to D-day, and the news/rumor mill is pretty noisy. What does everyone think? Go with your gut, what do you think will happen... I left "I don't know" off for a reason... EVERYONE has an opinion...
  21. You know... I wanna beat them on the field/court, but I feel sorry for the Baylor crowd... this really sucks... think about how we'd feel right now...
  22. A couple of years back I would have laughed at this post and said "where do you get that confidence? What in HISTORY would make you believe UNT Basketball is going to EVERY improve"... ...but then I've watched our Football team turn into something that we never thought was possible. I am now a true believer that ANYTHING is possible at UNT... The University has the right leadership, the right vision, and is moving the only way it knows how now, and that's up. ...so here's to a 10-2 football season, and a trip to the NIT next year! GO MEAN GREEN!
