"The Mean Green vs The Mustangs" game!

Seriously... are we going to do that shirt? That's CLASSIC! -
As illustrated earlier in this thread, the people who "really need it the most" DON'T PAY ANY TAXES! So, if you really can't give them a TAX CUT by definition, can you? If you want to give them tax money paid in by others, then that is wellfare, or wealth re-distribution, and not a tax cut.

Here, Here!!! I love it, BTW... People running for city council are promising to stop private citizens from doing what they want with this land... THAT THEY OWN!!! ROTFLMAO! -
...Not Chopsticks!!! What a shame... great food!

I agree. The tables Black Scholes posted DOES NOT prove your point. The Rich, the top 5% of wage earners pay over 50% of the taxes in this country. That in NO WAY validates your initial point, Screaming Eagle. The top 1% pay over a third, 34.27% of all income taxes. (Up from 2003: 33.71%) The top 5% pay 54.36% of all income taxes (Up from 2002: 53.80%). The top 10% pay 65.84% (Up from 2002: 65.73%). The top 25% pay 83.88% (Down from 2002: 83.90%). The top 50% pay 96.54% (Up from 2002: 96.50%). The bottom 50%? They pay a paltry 3.46% of all income taxes (Down from 2002: 3.50%). The top 1% is paying nearly ten times the federal income taxes than the bottom 50% Compare that with their earnings: The top 1% earns 16.77% of all income (2002: 16.12%). The top 5% earns 31.18% of all the income (2002: 30.55%). The top 10% earns 42.36% of all the income (2002: 41.77%); the top 25% earns 64.86% of all the income (2002: 64.37%) , and the top 50% earns 86.01% (2002: 85.77%) of all the income. Those who EARN 16% of the income in this country are responsible for 34.72% of the taxing burden. I can't look at these numbers and then reconsile the mentality that many have that the top producers in this country don't pay their fair share. Based on this, they pay over twice their fair share. ...on a side note, could an admin split these posts? Good debate here, but I don't want to see the thread get hijacked totally.

Gotta have that shirt!!!!!!!! -
See, yeah... ...let's beat them, before we give them a bunch of crap...

Fry and Dickey. ...I can't believe there's a debate on this.

Texas Tech. I like our history with them, and have always had a good time at Tech games, here and there!

LaMonroe interesting blast of NT's football
yyz28 replied to OldTimer's topic in Mean Green Football
Ugh... we did that... like last year... -
I hope Rick is right. However, I for one believe these threads will be the last that we hear of the incident.
-
Unreal. It's like anarchy run amuck around here... Gestapo security, and rouge violent coaches. Rather amazing.
-
Flannigan should be fired.... this is pathetic. ...Especially on the heels of what I felt was a pretty heroic performance by the O this week. I really thought they played better than they have all season - It's a shame a good performance has to be tarnished by this type of tripe.
-
Is this thread serious? We've won TWO games, (and I'll probably be able to still say that on Sunday) and ya'll are on here talking about 9 - 2 next year? Damn... It's time to put down the green crack pipe, and take a few steps back everyone.
-
Reading this thread is like beating your head into a wall... ..."LOOK! He's down there, beating that dead horse!!!" Parents - It's the internet. Free speech and all. People are going to post their opinions. Most people's opinions stink. Teach your children this simple fact, and invite them to come on here and laugh at the amount of uninformed crap is slung around. Sometimes viewing the ignorance of others is refreshing. Players - The fans that matter will never turn our backs on you. Play hard, don't ever quit, even when things look bleak, and the fan base will support you. We may disect a game, comment on what we armchair coaches and QB's might do, but beyond that, we support you guys. Play your asses off and win, lose or draw, you will each earn respect from the supporters of this program.
-
Overrated huh? You watching this game? They are dismantling a ranked team. They will dismantle Tech next week. UT vs. USC in the National Title game! (a situation I can't win... my favorite teams in order - UNT, UT, USC)
-
With all due respect, you are incorrect. The TEAM did leave, that is true. However, Dickey DID stand at the sideline facing the band at about the 20, made the talon sign and stood at attention during the alma matter. He even had is play chart stuffed in his pants per the norm. ...In fact a few of us were laughing, as he didn't know when and how to move his arm with the crowd. It was classic. I saw it as a bit of class on Dickey's part. The team should have stayed too, and that should be Dickey's policy. ...but DON'T claim Dickey didn't respect the Alma Matter, as it is simply a false claim. Now, should we support the team? Absolutely, without question, 100%. Does this mean we can't be upset and critical of the team's performance and that of the coaches and staff? Of course not. But you either are a FAN or you aren't. If you are you support the team, even when the going gets rough.

I was thinkin' we could just... ya know... win a game... or something.
-
LOL! Hence the need for the Coffee? I hear ya. I tend to agree with your view of the mistakes, but I am not seeing any improvement in 4 outings, I fear we aren't getting anywhere. I saw more Rookie Mistakes last night than I saw in the first 2 games.

This team is NOT ready for prime time. We can discuss and dissect why this year's team hasn't gelled, and what is going wrong, but that’s not what this thread is about. I'm sure many of us disagree about how to best bring this team back to the level we expect, and how to get them past that level on to the next level, something most of us desperately want. We have waited a long time to get where we have enjoyed being for the last few years, and we can wait a little longer until we all get what we want. In the end, I think we all share the same pride and love for this school, and how far we have come in the last few years, and we should all continue to support this team and our school, no matter how upset and frustrated we get. Those of you who have read my posts along the way know I’m the first one to scream and bitch when the team doesn’t perform well, and I’m willing to criticize ANYONE who is not performing up to expectations. If you know that, you also know I don’t drink the green Kool-Aide either, I have realistic expectations of the team’s performance. (I’m not the type of guy who was predicting a 9-2 or better season before play began) and I’m LIVID PISSED at how the team played last night. …but that can’t displace the memories of the pride and feelings I had the first time I wore the Green Brigade uniform in the stands at my first game my freshman year in 1994, and I hope that the frustration and anger over the current state of play doesn’t cause anyone here to loose the feelings of pride we all have in the University of North Texas. If it does, you simply don’t belong here.

Despite the fact I don't want to come off as an a$$hole here, I have to ask the following question: WHAT IN GOD's HOLY NAME MAKES YOU THINK THAT?!?!? ...just wonderin'.
