I Would Like To Introduce The 2007 Mean Green Football Helmet
yyz28 replied to caliuntfan's topic in Mean Green Football
White, huh? Too bad. -
I'm really not a fan of the White... Too bad. If that was reverse - it would be cool.

I don't understand the point of this thread. ...I'm a BELIVER. I trust in this guy and think he will turn this program around, 180. ...HOWEVER, I could be wrong. We may not want him in 5 years. Let's wait and see what we really think of him until we see how he does.

GREAT page! Have you considered a more permanant home to host it and/or domain name? I'd be willing to donate time, server space, etc to the project if you are interested. That really looks like the start of something that could be big, especially if it was merged with or co-marketed with GMG.com. Let me know if I can help in any way. Keep up the good work!

Hey - a hat is a far cry from the Uniform. The people in charge of the NT image right now are too marketing savy to allow a non official logo to grace our Athletic Uniforms. IF that logo ends up on a uniform, it would be a disaster. I am SO TIRED of this school trying to find a darn identity. The school's logos are set. They are being marketed. They should be used on any and all official NT images, including uniforms. ...I'm not arguing the good/bad of the interlocked NT. In fact, I personally really like the logo. I have a good amount of NT Exes gear, and I'll get that hat. ...but NT Exes is NOT the University of North Texas.

...this is coming from someone who has had a personal relationship with Dr. Pohl, both as a student and an Alumni. I have the utmost respect for what he has done and the hurdles he got this school over. I AM a Pohl guy... ...that being said, though I was skeptical at first, our new President seems to be doing all the right things so far. I was afraid she was going to be a real acedemic and be blinded by the truth that a strong althetic program can do nothing but ENHANCE the acedemic standards of our University, as is true for any school. This fear, so far, has not been realized. So far she has stepped up, supported the right decisions and appears to be someone who recognizes the positive impact an athletic program moving in the right direction can have on the University as a whole. She seems to be a President who will promote growth at the school and will work for acedemic excellence all the while. I am cautiously excited about her tenure so far, but it is looking good by all accounts to date.

Not likely, due to all the reasons stated above. ...and let's quit giving MTSU a bunch of crap. I don't know about you guys, but I'd rather have been in thier position over the last 2 years than in our position.

Look... this is very simple. There is no way to predict what will happen this year. Could be a 180 turn around, as I don't belive we are nearly as talentless as the last two years indicate. ...good motivation and coaching may be all this group needed... ...on the other hand, a young team full of people not recurited for the new system, in conjunction with a new system on both sides of the ball could be the catalyst for a very bad year, in terms of W's and L's. ...but either way, here is what we know. Even a bad year will be a roadbump to the opporunity this program has laid in front of it. We won't lose any games in 8 overtimes after running the ball (badly, might I add...) up the middle for 231 plays in a row. We will not be demanding more concentration and dicipline out of the team like we have been in the past years. We will go out and attempt to win EVERY GAME WE PLAY. ...with the change in attitude I expect to see, I'll be happy with another 2 win season as our first step to greatness. Let's just all support the team and the program this year no matter what the W and L results are, and do OUR PART to let this thing mature. If in the 3rd season of this new program we aren't in the hunt all the time, then we'll have room to complain. Until then, let's do our part to help nurture the start of something great!

Would Rail Service To/from Dallas Help Nt Athletic Attendance?

Drc - Meager Takes Lead In Quarterback Race
yyz28 replied to MeanGreen61's topic in Mean Green Football
I'm willing to give the kid a second look. Different coaching staff, different regime. The past coaching staff couldn't make the super-talented look good the way they were managing the team and running plays... CLEAN SLATE. Let's see what the kid's got. -
Jonny Quinn Breaks Arm!

This thread calls for a eerf tsop! Johnny is a god amoung men... that is all. -
Fox has a contract with the BCS. They will not say ANYTHING that would do any harm to the BCS. I think there will be some votes for Boise - but the bigger impact will come with time. This will force the hand and the 1+ scenario. That will be the beginning of the end of the BCS and the development of a playoff. It may not happen this year, may not happen this decade, but the end has begun for the BCS - and we'll all have Boise and Florida to thank for it when we look back...

Ohio State Or Florida ?
yyz28 replied to NT80's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
It would take too much time to quote all of you who posted the first 10 posts or so where Florida didn't have a chance. LOL! GO GATORS. Make BOISE STATE the REAL NATIONAL CHAMPS!!! Tonight - A Mid Major former conference mate of North Texas will have a LEGITIMATE claim on the National Title. This is a good night for College Football, the Mid Majors and NORTH TEXAS!!!!!!! -
Yeah... the Offense screwed up some things along the way, and Romo needs a training camp under his belt where he is the starter... ...however, despite the bobbled snap, I really thing the Offense did their part last night and most of the season, and the weaknesses are easily fixed. ...the DEFENSE, however - From the DC on down - S U C K S ! ! ! ! First, we've got a DC who really doesn't understand the scheme Parcells wants him to run. Parcells should fire him and bring in someone who does understand the scheme. The defensive playcalling was HORRID tonight and has been for the back half of this season. It's like they've been in the Prevent defense since week 12. Soft zone coverage, anyone can pick 6 to 15 yards up against us at will so long as the reciever catchse the ball. (sound **coughUNTcough** familliar?) There is some talent on the defense, but it needs to be analized by someone with a clue and a scheme built around what we have. Lots of complaints about Williams, but when the defense is playing soft, he can't hit everyone. Nor can Demarcus Ware. Carpenter really stepped up last night, and with Greg Ellis back, there is some real talent on the Defensive side of the ball. Defense should be our offseason and draft focus and a new DC should be found.

I don't know if there is one in Seattle, but they OWN. Anytime I'm on the West Coast I find me an In 'n Out, brotha!

Parcells is not going to Miami next year. ...he will be here in Dallas. He isn't going anywhere - He's got one more season. ...the NEXT Cowboy's head coach? - Pete Carroll. Don't worry, I'll keep a link to this thread to remind ya'll I'm right at the end of next year. ...in the mean time - I don't have a clue what will happen Saturday. Which Cowboys team shows up? Which Seattle team shows up? It's a total coin toss, and is a matchup that makes me glad I'm not a professional gambler. I see a scenario where the Cowboys get to the NFC Championship game that is rather realistic. I think they have a legitimate shot to beat Seattle. Assume they do. Philly WILL take down the Giants. That puts the Cowboys in the #4 seed and would have them facing #1 Chicago. Chicago is a beatable team, and the Cowboys have made a habit of beating the teams they shouldn't this year. ...on the other side of the bracket, I think it unlikely Philly takes out New Orleans, and New Orleans will own us. (though even if Philly beats New Orleans, they would probably kick our ass for the 3rd time stright again anyways...) Baltimore vs. New Orleans in the big game... New Orleans finally brings home the gold for the Big Easy in the feel good story of the decade.

Big 10 Commish The Largest Roadblock To A Playoff?
yyz28 replied to Eagle1855's topic in Mean Green Football
...because clearly the NFL is suffering for ratings and selling time on their regular season games because none of the teams in the NFL make it to the end undefeated... Sorry, that argument don't hold water. -

Baylor Pulls Justin Johnson's Scholarship Offer

I'd love to see him at UNT. As an alum of both Berkner and North Texas, I would really enjoy watching him play for Dodge. -
I agree with Lifer. Alumni, Students, and parents of both should be targeted for funraising REGULARY by the University, the Athletic Dept. and the Alumni Assn. Like he, I am a doner, a MG Club member and a member of the Exes. The Exes are the worst by far, there is virtually ZERO communication from them. I wouldn't know about the MG Club if it weren't for this website. I've never been solicited by the University or the COBA for money, yet I donate yearly. WTF... Let's get a Fundraising program in place PLEASE folks.
