Thanks for getting my name right... most want to stick an "E" in there somewhere... Scott, don't take my strong disappointment in this DC as me saying I don't think the future is bright. I still believe, and have no reason to believe otherwise, that we are on the brink of greatness, and that Todd Dodge is going to be the best thing that ever happend to UNT athletics. ...and I will be rooting for our team against any foe. I was doing so when I was angry with DD. Just because a single fan or a part of the fan base is angry with a coach or the coaching staff doesn't mean we don't support the team or the school. To imply otherwise is silly. I'm angry because I DO CARE - Very much - about the success of this team. ...and there is a BIG difference between the goings on of a private company and a DI football program. Coaches are paid to perform. When they don't, fans and sports writers are going to be critical of them. I don't think the general public cares if Bob Johnson in accounting isn't easy to work with.

Great picture... ...I really DIDN'T like the White Helmets at first (and I still think the away unis are TOO white...) but the white pants and helmet with the green jersey looks GREAT... I'm really coming around! That picture really shows how vibrant the uniform is. Great shot!

I'm a little confused... Are we talking about on the practice field? ...there was PLENTY of beer in the parking lot where most were tailgating. (in fact the lot was a total mess after the game - that's my only complaint - take your mess home...) I think you are perfectly free to take a cooler of beer and cook out and drink a cold one or two.

Fouts still sucks... ...but it DOES look a lot better. ...it'll look GREAT when it's laying in a pile of rubble.

First - The Green Brigade is the CLASS of UNT. ...but bands play over each other sometimes... they are playing to THEIR fans, not to us. It wasn't meant as disrespect. Second - I agree on the Cheerleader thing. I can't tell you how often I have noticed them starting a cheer when there was an injured player on the field - not out of disrespect, but simply out of ignorance. They should pay closer attention to the game...

What a scumbag. Unfortunately, we'll have to take the deathpenalty off the table to get him extradited from Mexico...

Just when you thought the "Giovanni" italian thing was getting carried away...

If we follow the advise of the "give it a whole year" crowd, this is exactly what we are in for. ...and if there was ANY sign of improvement, I'd be all for waiting a year too, but the truth is that there has been ZERO improvement or adjustment game to game. So far, the Defensive schemes and basic mistakes that were made during the OU game are still the problem in week 5. ...and I fully expect them to be again this week. ...how many weeks do we put 30 points on the board and lose before our head coach says "ENOUGH" and starts shaking something up? How many scoring drives under 1 minute does the opponet shove down our throats before we recognize there is a problem and DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT?!?! Until the end of this season? Really? Ya'll (so many, it appears...) are ok with that? Wow. 64th defense in the nation last year, with largely the same group of guys. Folks, we'd be 3 and 2 right now with this offense and the #64 defense, and the 2 losses wouldn't have been amoung our schools WORST EVER. Instead, we've just lost to ULaLa and are about to get throttled by ULaMo, and we're probably going to do so with another record offensive performance.

Hope he shakes off those first game jitters. ...though, you have to give the guy some room here... ...a wet football is tough to deal with as a QB. Should be interesting to see him develop as the season goes on. Hope he gets some help on the other side of the ball.

The Defense is terrible. Mendoza hasn't made any adjustments since the first defensive down of the first game. He needs to be fired. I can't believe so many are willing to throw these kids under the bus... ...and give the adults who are PROFESSIONALS and GET PAID for their competencies a complete pass, AND THEN have the grapefruits to criticize others for their posts.

Thank you, oh mighty Zorlak the All-Knowing for telling us what there is and isn't room for. I'm one of the people calling for his head, and I'm certainly not a newbie. Neither are MANY of the people screaming for a change on the defensive side of the ball. Mendoza isn't getting the job done, and so far there is ZERO indication that he's making any changes to compensate for what is going wrong. Same schemes week in and week out with no adjustment as the game goes on. This guy doesn't have what it takes to be a college level D-Cord. Do we need to be 0-12 for some to understand that? I think Dodge is going to be the saivior of this program, but I'm also realistic enough to understand he is rather green (no pun intended) at the college level and is going to make some mistakes, including who is best to put around him to make this program thrive. I'm willing to forgive, and I don't think any serious fan is looking for his resignation - but we are looking at him to admit there is a major gap in the staff's competency and do something about it. ...that's part of wearing the daddy pants.

I'm not upset about the losses to OU and Arkansas. ...I'm upset that the other team had the ball for half the time we did and we got RAPED, regardless of some real signs of life from the offense. I don't think anyone is jumping the gun. I'm not looking for perfection or even a 180* turn around overnight, but SOME, JUST SOME improvement. There is some in the offense, every week. The Defense hasn't made so much as a single adjustment that has netted improved performance.

It sucks, because now LSU (The scourge of College Football, right behind Zero U) is alone at #1...

I just can't agree with this... I agree on the Dodge part, but Mendoza needs to go, like NOW. This defense is terrible. ...and there is no indication of any changes to improve the situation.
