  1. If his intent was to make a member of the Alumni feel uncomfortable, or refuses to shake the hand of a fan who says "nice game coach" then he was wrong. ...I'm not sure how anyone could see his intent as anything other than disrespect. These coaches should be leading by example. If you can't take the heat and still keep your head up without acting like a jerk, you shouldn't be in coaching. I'm sorry. His actions are inexcuseable, regardless of intent.
  2. Dude... people SAW it happen. Are you really that blinded by this guy? You're his wife or kid or something? Mendoza did EXACTLY what FFR said he did. FFR is not a liar. Neither are the few who saw it happen. You're a troll. Nothing more. You attack respected members of this community, yet have been around here since **GASP** THIS YEAR! ...that certainly makes you an expert on all things North Texas. FFR is THE standup guy of this community and just wouldn't lie about this incident. Let it go dude. You're wrong. Your precious Mendoza is a tool for acting the way he did towards ANY FAN OF THIS UNIVERSITY. The students, alumni and players draw A HELL of a lot more water than any coach or paid administrator does. The staff of this University should only say "Thank You" to the fans and Alumni who have paid our dues and earned the right to question what is going on at the institution that WE ALL HELPED BUILD. I suggest you find another target. You are a tool, you've proven it again and again, and your personal attacks on ANY member of this fan base, especially one with the history FFR, is pathetic.
  3. ...and where's the pool on Mendoza? I'll take "He's not getting fired, but won't be the DC next year for $300, Alex!"
  4. You, sir... are a tool.
  5. They won't care if we say that... they already think they are too good for the 'belt. LOL!
  6. I feel like I'm reading about the WWE.
  7. Word. I'm guessing no, he wasn't. ...Defense played well last night against the run. Most of the damage done was against the pass which exposed our weak secondary. The performance was good enough though and a massive improvement, really the first we saw all year. Our offense was not great last night, but again, was good enough, and I'm sure the slop wasn't helping any. virtually every vizza pass that was off the mark was high, like the ball was getting away from him before he wanted it to as a result of being wet...
  8. I was there but I didn't drag my family out in that miserable mess... Guess I'm not a true fan according to some on this board... Pathetic.
  9. I'm going to brave the weather no matter what... GO MEAN GREEN!!!!!!!
  10. First, neither NT nor Hawaii are BCS teams. BCS teams play in conferences that have automatic bids into the BCS process. At Large possibilities don't make you a BCS school... ...and the rest of this discussion is acedemic. Missouri WILL win tomorrow night. I'll be hauling home from a cold, wet Fouts to McKinney tomorrow evening to be in my warm house in front of my TV for the game of the weekend! GO TIGERS!
  11. THE BIG ANNOUNCEMENT WILL BE - BILL BRASKY WILL BE THE NEW DC!!! "Did I ever tell you about the time Brasky took me out to go get a drink with him? We go off looking for a bar and we can't find one. Finally Brasky takes me to a vacant lot and says, 'Here we are.' We sat there for a year and a half — until sure enough, someone constructs a bar around us. Well, the day they opened we ordered a shot, drank it, and then burned the place to the ground. Brasky yelled over the roar of the flames, 'Always leave things the way you found 'em!'" ...and... Kari Byron - THE hotness... True... True. See, CBL, we agree some of the time!
  12. New football unis really did turn out... ...I was worried about the white helmet, but it looks ok in th end. I'd like to see more black - perhaps a black pants option... and we need Green pants on the away uniform. Too much white, IMHO. ...and yeah, the BBall unis are great!
  13. I hate threads like this... Now I'm going to be all worked up until Saturday. HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!
  14. It was mentioned in the ABC halftime broadcast during the TTU v. OU game... in fact, they got quite a laugh out of it, and still managed to disrespect ULAMO despite having won.
  15. My problem with your argument is this - A DC with real experience could come in here NOW and be light years beyond where he is going to be if we give him two years, even if he improves some (one has to take into consideration what improvements we have seen week to week in order to gauge what another year is really going to net us...). IMHO, of course. Coach's don't 180 historically, and that's what we need here. We don't need SOME improvement... we need a totally different style, difference schemes, and ABSOLUETLY need a different situation during practice... like no more touch football during practice. We just need a college level DC, we really do. Going to be a sad year next year if we're sitting at the end of the season having this same conversation. What makes ANYONE think we aren't with this DC
  16. Mendoza is a BAD DC. Negative talk about him is to be expected, and doesn't hurt recruiting. News Flash - THIS IS COLLEGE FOOTBALL. If you don't perform, you will be reviewed critically by Fans and the Press. Part of the gig, and passionate fans demanding changes for the better will not turn off the recruits we want at UNT.
  17. www.firemendoza.com ...I need to update it... I created it weeks ago after the FFR incident, and then had the entire board jump my ass, so I removed the link. ...I'll get to updatin' it this weekend. WHEE!
  18. ...and this makes what difference? They aren't exerting themselves a longer amount of time. Less if anything - we've got the playclock down to the last tick before we're starting the play. ...and doesn't the other team we're playing have to contend with the same time situation? Not like there is a rip in space-time on the UNT sideline and not on the Visitors...
  19. The screaming flaw with this reasoning is simple math. (especially after people say things like "Gee, with a college degree, you should be able to add and figure out how stupid what you are saying is...") Here's my UNT Degree at work: Last year the defense was on the field for an average of 66 plays per game. Time of Possesion last year was 29 minutes per game average. Average points scored against our Defense - 28 Points. This year the defense was on the field for an average of 71 plays per game. Time of possesion this year is 31 minutes per game average. Average points scored against our Defense - 49.5 Points. ...so, the defense is playing 7% MORE plays, 6% LESS time, and giving up 43% more points. Add this into the statistical genious of FFR, and you start to see a pretty harsh picture. DIRE need to make massive changes on the staff...
  20. This topic has been hashed on this board in about a billion threads... Go read them. FIRE MENDOZA...NOW U N T Defense Is The Worst, And It's Not Even Close Defensive Historical Contrasts Your post is full of incorrect information. Here are some Facts: Fact: We have the worst defense in the nation. not by a point or two a game, but by 7 points. The NEXT WORSE Defense in the nation allows 7 fewer points than ours does. Fact: The defense of last season which had essentially the same players with a year's less experience were not world beaters, but DID manage average performances, leading us to a 64th rank defensively. Fact: We are running a non-adjusting Cover One scheme. Fact: Coach Dodge has managed to get record breaking performance out of Dickey's recruits. I'm really tired of this crap of blaming the kids... They had enough talent to be average last year. Average defense this year has us right in the thick of things right now. ...and your argument "One: Most of it has to do with the offense Coach Dodge is running. Passing does not eat up the clock as fast as run, run, draw play did" is flawed. We controlled the Time of Possesion against Navy, Troy, ULaLa and FAU and STILL lost those games. Defense is on the field less and can't stop anyone. Then you bash the kids 3 times in your post then say "Support the team and "ALL" our coaches..."!?!?!?!? Wow. Balls bro. Balls.
  21. Thanks!
  22. Dodge needs to be redshirted and needs to learn, and Vizza needs to be allowed to blossom. Vizza is the man. he's getting more consistant and mistake free week after week. I wouldn't upset the applecart there for the time being.
  23. What a bunch of whiny crap in this thread. A bunch of mind-washed political correct insanity that has gripped this nation with fear. I am so sick of it. We are too sensitive, America. We've become a bunch of panty-waste wussies to the point that Steve-O can ACTUALLY have a weekly show pointing out exactly how weak spined most of us are. We might as well fold the tent, folks - the rest of the world has figured out we're a bunch of wussies. This country has become a paper tiger. We'll let you attack our buildings, kill 3000 and then we'll engage in a political war run out of Washington and do everything we can not to kill the Civillians (who are parading in the streets cheering as the towers fell...) Oh, you are developing Nuclear weapons? Really? Neat-O! You're going to aim them at us and our Allies? Really? COOL! OH, WOW! You actually state, out loud, that you're going to use them on one of our allies the moment you have them at your disposal? SUPER! What are we going to do about it? SANCTIONS! THAT'LL SHOW 'EM!!!!!!!! No american products for you! That's right. Those flanel and fleece shirts we still acutally make in this country will be unavailable to you. ...but you can have all the stuff you want from China (including military equipment). That'll work. They'll stop making nuclear weapons so they can buy products with the "Made Proudly in the USA" label. We'll let people pevert the language and assign negativitiy to WORDS instead of actions and thoughts. We'll become over sensitive when someone uses a Mascot the UBER-MINORTITY has a problem with, and we'll ditch it just to avoid the spotlight. Most men I know are afraid of their wives, much less the scruitiny of the media. We've got a Female presidential cantidate who nobody knows how to handle - do we ask her the tough questions? We'll get accused of attacking a woman. HEY, if she can't stand up to Tim Russert, she can't stand up to Machmood Am-agh-denijad. (I know it's spelled wrong, what's it to ya?) The only people who have any balls in this country anymore are the Military, and the Public Servants (Fire/Rescue/Police) who put their asses on the line every day for you and I while we drive our Volvo's, Audi's and SAAAAAAAAB's to Starbucks to get our triple mocha late with no-fat milk on the way to our 8 hour daily sentence in our Cubicle. THEN we allow them to take away Indians as mascots... BUT WE LET 'EM TAKE CHRISTMAS AWAY TOO!!!!!! What the $%@# is wrong with this country?!?!?! ARGHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!! ...oh, and I think in a shootout, we're in trouble. ...just thought I'd throw some football in there too.
  24. This thread is just borderline lame. Sorry, guys - you're just wrong. You can't rightfully claim that people who didn't attend this basketball game, no matter how important it was, are not Mean Green supporters. Again, many didn't even know about the game. Very little advertisement of it - the first I heard of it was during the football game over the PA. ...and CBL, we got the point of your posts. You both believe there was no excuse for anyone in that football stadium to miss the basketball game. Again, you're wrong. People who didn't know this game was going on may well have made other commitments that could not be broken. Maybe they honestly don't like basketball. Maybe they had kid that they needed to get home after a long day. Maybe they don't owe either of you so much as an excuse, since you don't think they are Real Mean Green Supporters anyways. ...I'm farily certain 26,000 people were NOT at the Tavern after the Game Saturday. [Cartman] LAME!! [/Cartman]
