  1. Suns or Spurs is my guess... though the Lakers look GOOD right now... Mav's are lucky to make it out of round 1.
  2. Watched two Dallas Burn games at Pizza Hut Park and attended one of the World Cup games in 1996. I've been. Not particularly exciting. Being there is sort of fun, like baseball, but watching that sport on TV is awful. Well, by your own numbers a soccer field can be 13000 square feet. a football field is 5350 sq feet. (and i don't want to hear about the extra 30 yards - endzones don't count. Goalline to goal line.) ...so a soccer field is only 2.5 times larger. Same number of players. the game moves slowly because you have to run and kick, and the rules are so non-rigid. Soccer might have a chance in America if it were rigidly timed - this shit of going on after the "end" of the game for no reason I can figure out so far. They do this when one team already has more goals... it's not like this only happens when the game is tied. ...after x amount of time, if the other side has more points - YOU'VE LOST!!! Let it go... the Ref can't just decide "hey, let's play for a while longer"
  3. Those would be VERY different lists for me. Baseball would actually make the top 5 if I'm actually THERE vs. watching on TV. Not because I really care about the game, but enjoy the atmosphere of the ballpark. Hockey is WAY better in person. Football is perfect either way, though the environment of being there can't be beat...
  4. Wait... I didn't see "one legged speed skating". Show some love!!!!!
  5. Well, hey... that's alright. Nobody's perfect. ...well, you know what they say about opinions... Right, because they all rate south of Soccer which is in the basement, so... ...I should have listed "Other". Is there anything else? How can you possibly like something that the French like? Seriously. See! We CAN agree afterall! Nascar/Drag Racing is a "you've gotta be there" thing. Once you've been to an event and seen it for real, and not on TV, you'll have a differnet understanding of it. Strap your ass in a machine that goes 0-300MPH in 3.5 seconds, and you'll understand the meaning of exciting... ...but again, It isn't a sport. Screw 'em. See my comment about opinions. Yes. ...and I have to admit, I have a college degree and I like the WWE. Again, not a sport. (and nobody hit me with the comment about what good shape they are in, like the Formula One comment earlier. I didn't say these people aren't athelets, but they are engaged in an activity, not a sport...) Amature or College (Real) Wrestling and Professional (Scripted) Wrestling are totally different, but I find both of them very entertaining. Real Wrestling does qualify as a sport. Pro Wrestling qualifies as a drama. ...and that makes two things we can agree on.
  6. HD Hockey ROCKS! Soccer is about as fast paced and exciting as baseball. Soccer's biggest problem - WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too much real estate. Indoor soccer is far more entertaining as a result. ...you ever sit on your back porch and watch your grass grow? Yeah, Soccer is like that. Golf is more exciting to watch for god's sakes! From the end of Hockey Season (or basketball season, but ONLY if the Mav's are in - I don't care about b-ball otherwise) until the beginning of football season, I exist in sort of a sports neurtral zone. Nothing worth giving a crap about. OH, snap, BassMasters is on ESPN. ...and here's the Bowling tournament from 1989 on ESPN Classic. I'm all over that when my alternitive is a baseball game or GOD FORBID a soccer game. Sports Rated in order of Importance - 1. Football 2. Hockey 3. Arena Football 4. Golf 5. Tennis 6. Baskteball 7. Girl's Softball (C'mon... some of 'em are HOT!) 8. Badmitten 9. Curling 10. Baseball 11. Syncronised Swimming 12. One Legged Speed Skating 13. Soccer ...and if anyone brings up Autoracing, I'm going to hit the wall... (Punny, huh?) Autoracing is NOT A SPORT! ...don't get me wrong. I'm a Drag-Race junkie... ...I enjoy NASCAR and Indy Car... ...but my fat-ass driving my car down the drag-strip is not a sport. It does take some level of skill to be consistant and to build the machine in the first place... ...but it isn't a sport.
  7. Not in the long run, but this makes me a little nervous about the remainder of this season. ...overall, this is a good trade. I'll miss jussi, but good move overall.
  8. Alumni - Let's make a pledge to the students of today. If the proposal is $3 per semester hour, and assuming most of us had aobut 120 semester hours to graduate, who is willing to throw $360 into the Stadium Fund in exchange for the students voting yes? ...we're saying "We're willing to have made that sacrafice too, and will put our money where our mouths are..." Seeing former students step up in mass might push them in the right direction? ...I'm just thinking out loud here...
  9. Turko was asleep during this game...
  10. This is a real shame. Hat's off to WBAP and everyone who went out there to see them this morning for doing so much for this Family!
  11. He won 2 of the three events and finished 5th this weekend. That's a pretty amazing start in new equipment with a new team. Kenseth is a good guy... Nice choice. Kyle Busch is a turdburgler.
  12. Too many things point to YES for me not to have a great deal of hope. Everyone just simmer down, good things are afoot.
  13. It is Calgary... I almost always get the Canuck's tickets, and thought that was the next game I was going to. Flames tonight, should be a good game!
  14. Toyota has had V8's in Lexus' for a long time. ...however the motor they are using in Nascar is almost a carbon copy of the Small Block Chevy's being used by Chevrolet racing. It is a 650HP 358 Cubic Inch Pushrod OHV motor using the same carb's that the other guys are running. It doesn't resemble ANYTHING they have ever produced, unlike Chevy, Ford and Mopar. COT Chevy cars have moved away from Gen1 and Gen2 Small Block Chevy designs and are now running "Race Specific" engines that are not derived from something sold to the public. This marks the first time that Chevy Racing hasn't used a consumer available platform to build their NASCAR engines. Ford and Mopar did this years ago - Toyota has been doing it since day one. The RO7 engine shares a lot of technology with the LSX/Gen 3 and 4 small blocks, but is a totally different engine. That was the last thing that connected the cars on the track to some cars on the street. With COT, that is a thing of the past.
  15. How 'bout we just don't choke in the first round this year.. I'll be at the 'Nuck's game tomorrow night...
  16. Both games are about as exciting to watch as watching grass growing, but if we have to have one, I'd prefer baseball...
  17. Great race. The end was all about that last re-start, and when Kyle (Jerkoff) Busch botched the restart, Earnhardt was screwed as he was right behind him. ...I've always been a Dale Jr. guy, and I'm REALLY happy he's wearin' Green now!
  18. Congress should stick to the issues that the Constitution gives them some power over. Again, if the rest of our government and country was a near-eutopia, I wouldn't have much of a problem with this, but based on the huge number of problems facing this nation day in and day out, I just don't see the most powerful legislative body in the world spenind time debating the finer points of... ...BASEBALL!!! (or Football for that matter...)
  19. I hear ya man... ...but the amount of interest people have doesn't change the fact that Congress shouldn't be in the middle of it. ...Congress isn't here to do a Public Service "Don't Do 'Roids" announcement. ...and I reject the notion that screwing with the internal workings of professional baseball is the same as investigating insider trading. The Constitution DOES grant Congress Commerce oversight, not Professional Sports oversight. I'm not arguing one side over another, because I could give a crap one way or the other. But again, we have MASSIVE probems in this country, and it is a WASTE of TAXPAYER MONEY and TIME for Congress to be having hearings on Sterioids in baseball, or any other sport for that matter.
  20. Gonna be GREAT!
  21. GOOD FIND!!! I'm glad we can count on Vito to be first with this stuff!!!
  22. Baseball would be MUCH better than Soccer. It's 'merican!
  23. It is the tough choices in life...
  24. yyz28

I'd be in for one of the XXXL's if someone here wins this...
