I like Coach Canales - but so far his offensive schemes haven't worked out any better than Dodge's did in terms of production or wins and losses. Unfortunately, for him, it may have to be guilt by association, as if the team is sucking wind, he's failing... if they are doing good, he's succeeding and thus so is Dodge. I really don't see a path for him to be the head coach. I agree with those who say that taking Dodge out mid season drops the coaching staff by a man, and really throws a wrench into the recruiting and off-season part of the game. I know the emotional desire for everyone here... I have it too. My gut & loyalty says "let's see what he does with injuries and a tough schedule coming up"... because if he managed to get some wins in games we really have no business winning, then we might have the guy for the future and excitement about his first full season would be easy to build. ...but this is a gamble that I don't think our program can afford going into a turbulant conference realignment period and going into our new stadium. It is time to make a statement to the world. We either pull a miracle out of the had with Dodge starting this week, which is a powerful statement in and of itself - or we start with a totally clean slate next year.

If it's gonna happen anywhere, it's should be here. LOL! Where's Kathy Ireland when you need 'er?

I'll be there... That's all any of us can do. Be there, and talk it up and bring as many folks as you can. I'll have at least 1, maybe 3 in tow with me this week. GO MEAN GREEN!

I tend to agree with MG93-98 here... With all of the injuries, and 4-6 wins, I think Dodge would probably be cut some slack. ...but we've now witnessed two of the most likely wins (Rice & ULL) slip through our fingers as if it were last year. Even to hit 4 wins, we'd need 3 more, and I don't see 3 more winnable games. Our next three opponents combined have as many wins as we do - 1. Had we beat ULL this week on the heels of taking care of FAU, I'd be feelin' pretty cocky about our chances of rolling into Troy undefeated in conference. ...now, I'm trying to justify how I can feel like we have a chance at a win for the rest of the season, much less run the bottom half of the belt. Despite an OCC record that sucked, we could really build on a pair of wins in the belt, despite the injuries IMHO... ...but this loss was SO darned deflating, I don't know what we're going to get next. Even if the bar is reset to 4-5 wins due to the bizzare circumstances of the year, does anyone really feel that is even a long shot right now? I hope I'm wrong. I really do. ...but unless we pull it off this weekend, you'll find me exceedingly difficult to convince.

I forgot this was parents weekend. It'll help. 14-15K is my guess. I'll be there +1 with bells on, baby!

Happy Birthday Rick! Thanks for doing so much for our program! Hope you have a good one!

Unreal. ...seriously, this is just beyond belief at this point.

Tuberville will have tech back soon enough. He's a west coast off. And defense guy who's got a te built for the spread. We would do well to remember this. While I agree we have to make a change, that change will start yet another rebuilding period.

So the sh!tty officiating is Dodge and the coaching staff's fault?!?! I think it is time to lay off the crack-pipe!!! There is a looooooong list of problems and issues with this program you can lay at the feet of the coaching staff, but pinning bad calls on them because they don't have the facilities on the sideline to "GOOGLE" the rules so they can prove their point by making the ref read an article about NCAA football rules on Wikipedia is truely insane.

I agree 110%. That wasn't a blocked kick. It was a kick into the back and heads of our linemen!

...we have Canales right now, and so far it doesn't look like it has helped much. His offence has won a grand total of ONE game. The end result that matters, which is wins and losses, hasn't seen any improvment since his arrival. Let's just look at yesterday. Short yardage situations, QB in the shotgun, no formations under center. Last drive, we literally run it down their throats , and then once we're inside the 5, we put the game on Riley's arm with 3 passing plays? Offense snaps the ball with 13 seconds on the play clock as we're trying to run the clock down at the end of the half? He hasn't shown me the 180* turn around I think is needed here to make me feel he should stay on as head coach. With the fee coming into effect, the new stadium, if TD isn't going to return, which I think is a near forgone conclusion at this time, we need to make a splash with this hire and bring in someone with a track record.

Interesting post. But we should not weigh Dickey's lack of class when deciding if Todd Dodge should be fired mid-season or given the remainder of the year. Two VERY different men and personalities.

Riley was great last night. My heart really goes out to him. He's been thrust into this position due to injuries and lots of bad luck. ...now he has to play for his dad's job? I can't imagine what he's feeling. I'm proud to have Riley Dodge as a part of the Mean Green Nation!

If that weren't so accurate, it wouldn't be as funny!

C'mon D!! Just once...

There should have been an offsides call there. ...but we're simply beating ourselves.

This is painful...

Really?!?!?!

That wad stupid clock mgmt.

This crowd SOOOOOO badly needs a win. The energy and tension in the air when we score can be felt. Nice score... Now we need a hold to go into the locker room with hope...
