Fortunately, men who are making business decisions and not fans who think their mid-major is better than yours will be the folks who decides who is in what conference when this is all over. We have a lot to offer and anyone educated on what we're doing and what direction we're going will see the business case for UNT. I have faith in our leadership in this move.

If there is MWC expansion, it will be Utah State plus one. If they want to stay in Texas and SMU and Houston say no, it'll be NT. ...so, if I'm counting "If's"...

More folks aware of where need is will be the best way to have some of that need possibly addressed! Thank you all for all that you do for us and our school!

...and both times we went to Lubbock, we beat 'em. Some of the best times I remember traveling with this team. I think we have a little more to offer today than we did then. Maybe they would tell us to pound sand, but the question is who would you like to see a home and home with. We got them that close before some pretty good years and a brand new stadium. ...and all of the sudden, they aren't so hot. Might be a nice little match.

Denton would be the next Prosper if it weren't for UNT and TWU. ...just the next little town to be sucked up by the sprawling metroplex mass and turned into every other burb in the area who's own identity has all but been erased. ...a wide spot in the road and a pretty old court house. Denton is what it is today BECAUSE of the Universities and DESPITE itself and the no growth flat-earth morons who raise a stink about progress that has been on the march for generations around them. I REJECT that UNT is a drain on Denton. Denton has the tax-base and infrastructure it does today thanks largely in part to the Universities in the communities, which are growing, despite the cities and vocal minorities best efforts. Long after this little neighborhood is a distant memory, their houses shall sit in the shadow of our 150,000 seat domed monstrosity (painted bright ass green, of course, complete with windmills) and they will hear our laughter at their miserable existence day and night. Go Mean Green!

I used to love going out to Lubbock and beatin' the Raiders. Love to see that happen again. Since SMU and Houston are done, my additional choices would be - Army/Navy/Air Force or any combination thereof Rice/UTEP/Baylor are inter-changable here, any in state mid-major (and don't argue with me about Baylor here) team. Texas Tech TCU - Because we should be challenging ourselves to be nipping on their heels.

Ok... I'm younger, and I played the newer version of the Fight Song so I'm sure I'm biased... ...but the old version sounds... OLD! Sounds like a typical march style piece of music, or something that you'd expect to be playing in the background of a carnival ride. ...it is a nice arrangement, and I'm not dogging it, I happen to really like it, but it isn't a TOUGH sounding arrangement, and doesn't really say "fight" when I listen to it. The current version has an aggressive fanfare and drives forward. While I understand why the traditionalists like the old arrangement better, it would be crazy to go back now. The VAST majority of UNT alums are UNT alums, not NTSC and or NTSU alums. They also came through this school hearing and remembering the newer version. ...it would be like bringing back flying worm at this point. Texas has modified "Texas Fight" along the way, adding the Eyes of Texas portion of the repeat in the 60's. The arrangement of Fight Raider Fight changed in the 90's slightly according to 3 friends of mine who were in that band at the time. We're not the only ones.

I think the bright kelly green of the current uniforms (and on clothing) really pops in combination with Black, but this is all so subjective. Here's what I'd do if I were making the uniform decisions - A green Jersey with white and black accents and a white jersey with green and black accents. Despite the fact that people say we look "High School" (and we don't because of our uniforms) I really don't have anything against the current Jersey - ...then have one of each color pant, Green, Black and White with the appropriate accent colors. This way we change up the look a bit and most everyone will be happy with at least one uniform combination. (except those who want no black, no matter what, even though black accents are present in the current official and approved logos and color scheme) ...I hated the white helmet when it first came out, but it has grown on me. ..and the official "North Texas" logo doesn't bother me too much, but if we're going to use words on the helmet, I'd rather see us using "Mean Green" instead of "North Texas". The SOW would be my first choice on the helmet however. I'd like a green that matches the bright kelly green (with silver metal flake, not bass boat metallic, but car paint metallic), but would be perfectly happy with the white if we'd add some pearl to the finish or something to make it pop a bit. Pearl with a tick of green flake would make the helmet pop and be VERY unique. (...can you tell I own a custom car shop? Maybe we can ghost in the SOW logo...) I always liked the interlocking NT, but it isn't an official UNT logo, and I think we don't need to be introducing ANYTHING new in terms of logo or colors. Play on the theme, but don't change the theme.

I can't believe anyone would vote NO on this. Stay in the 'belt over MWC?!? No. Bad move. I agree my first choice is CUSA (with or without SMU) but this is a no brainer.
