How are they the better team when they scored 16 points and gave up 28? Never can understand those arguments and it seems CFB fans are regulars in making such statements.

Excellent post. It takes time to change an apathetic culture but last night I was recollecting when I transferred to UNT in 04 and left in 07 and how night and day difference it is from then and now in terms of school pride, wearing green, buzz etc. We went to the NO Bowl in 2004 but I honestly don't remember hearing any buzz about it. Other than a token segment or two that may have been on The Ticket, if I wanted information about the game I'd take initiative myself because I was interested. We've come to a point now where there is a good enough buzz, information outlets, social media etc that it just spreads to more and more people which is benefiting us. Just keep on winning and slowly but surely change that culture. There is no reason whatsoever we cannot have as much success and school pride as any of the other big name schools.

Speaking of. I forgot to set my DVR to record the game and I'll likely be going to the game straight from work. Does anybody know if that game will be replaying later on at night?

Could be however I'm sure there may be quite a few Rice alums living in the area that may be interested in coming. Maybe someone that has been to an SMU/Rice game at Ford might have a better idea.

Really curious to see how many Rice will be bringing to the game.

I slept a little bit but have really been extra amped up the last few days. So far today I can honestly say I haven't done anything productive at work as I'm waiting til the start of the game. I'm bringing a buddy of mine who is a UT alum and die hard Longhorns fan to the game. It's his first time attending anything NT related and he's really excited to experience it.

I've never been there in the evening time but I'm also a really huge fan of Scruffy Duffy's there.

The last time I remember The Ticket at UNT it was when the Hardline came up and did their show from the Union I think and that was when Greggo was still there. I was listing to Bob and Dan the other day as they were talking about Halloween and Bob was seriously wanting and considering going and taking all of his kids to the NT game tomorrow night but it was vetoed by his kids that wanted to do something Halloween related. Bob mentioned that he'd love to do it and thought it would be really fun. Somehow before all that Sea Bass brought the game up as to what to do on Thursday night and that's how Bob started mentioning that. So I do think there has been a few more outsiders that have noticed what's been going on in Denton over the last few years in general with the school, MBB, and now FB this season.

I think regardless of party there needs to be serious look at reform. For the most part I think most average people from both parties agree. For me my big thing is the continuing rise of cost of healthcare. It's not even a slight right but the rise is astronomical. That needs to be addressed. I'm particularly not a huge fan of the ACA as the issue of cost is still ignored in this whole thing.

Let's try to refrain from attacks like that. NT gets those all the time from schools with fans right to the south of us.

They may not travel a thousand or two but I wouldn't be that so sure.

If in fact we have different uniforms, why would RV and the powers that be hide it? Really a head scratcher to me. If they've got it they need to flaunt it.

Only thing about that comparison is UM is a small private school that has about 15K students now but not too long ago they were a little over 10 or 11K. Not the best comparison there IMO.

Ditto. I personally think they're pretty cool as well. I wish RV was more welcoming to uniform designs and changes to make it more appealing to the youth and recruits of today.

I don't think anybody is denying UTSA's potential but potential is an overused term in college sports. I think both UCF and USF rose up at the right time and things just worked out for them. Yes they had solid administration and good coaches but Florida is a recruiting hotbed that for the longest time only had 3 legitimate FBS schools in UF, FSU, and Miami. UCF and USF joining the group was a big benefit to them because they could capitalize on still getting really good talent from players that wanted to stay within the state. UTSA on the other hand has to compete with a plethora of other schools especially within the state that are on the same if not higher level than them so I don't believe you'll necessarily be on the path of a UCF and USF. Hey good luck to you guys. If you guys are the next greatest thing in CFB then good for you but I think a lot of growing pains will be coming your way and if that happens that could very well make you the next big school with the "potential" tag that still can't escape the apathy.

Luckily I can take University (380) to Tollway or Preston and that's usually a solid route.
