  1. I understand what you're thinking but this is just the way it is. We know the landscape of college sports and what's happened the last few years here in Denton has been nothing short of impressive and people are taking notice...some NT sports message board isn't going to sway anything or anybody on the outside and if it does something is definitely wrong there. Recruits know exactly what goes on so they're not naive enough to think this is not reality.
  2. This is a good problem/thread to have to be honest. We know the other side of things. This thread just means the program is doing some right and we're doing some winning.
  3. I think OU and a program of that stature would be looking for someone that wins far more than just 8 games a year if someone is around for that number of years. UNT would have to match or get close to seasons that Boise St., Houston, TCU etc have had. Hell even the MAC has had a few schools that accomplished undefeated years.
  4. Apogee has never sold out and we're in year 8. If we were going to increase capacity we could have and should have just initially built it at a higher capacity as it would have been far more cheaper to do it all at once but since that didn't happen we have plenty of time. All we need to do is keep on winning and filling up the place in addition to making sure MBB is trending up and we're getting really good crowds at the Super Pit.
  5. Clearly TT can money whip Seth compared to us so that is more than enough to get him out of Denton but couple of things to consider...if NT really wanted to up their game how high could we go to pay him to keep him a few more years more? That and I would have to think there will be much better jobs he can pick from instead of going to Tech. I don't think Tech will ever be much more than what they are now and will top out what Mike Leach did there which was really good but hardly a true threat to the big boys. And you're going to Lubbock...no offense. If Seth is a little more patient I have to think he'll get far better opportunities to choose from instead of TT.
  6. Great game and great crowd. I'm not sure if there were as many people there that were announced but I too sit in the club seats and I felt there was more energy and passion there in the club but I didn't feel it was that much more full than previous years of good crowd games but I have been told the club seats sales have increased. Regarding the rest of the crowd once everything settled it looked pretty full however there were enough patches(albeit small) that probably also had an impact of perceived attendance numbers. I don't think this matters either way folks. Also I've said that many times and I'll say it again that I do not want any fans or rely on any fans travelling to Apogee filling up our house. I was perfectly fine with SMU bringing what they did. It only meant that there were much more NT fans there and that just means a much better impact on those people and future.
  7. Just saw this news that Scott Cross has been fired at UTA. Interesting situation...could be more to this story to come out later on perhaps? https://sportsday.dallasnews.com/college-sports/collegesports/2018/03/26/ut-arlington-fires-mens-basketball-coach-scott-cross
  8. I don't listen to the fan as i'm a p1 but I know KT (former ticket guy) is a pretty loud and outspoken supporter of NT & NT athletics & an alum of course. Believe Ben and Skin are alums as well from there and of course it seems like half the ticket on air & production talent are NT alums.
  9. Oh that's right I didn't even look at the other images on there but you're right. Funny is I can't find that current one anywhere online or in other stores. I just saw that at the stadium but it might be at the store in the union so I'd try that.
  10. I bought one at the store near gate 2. I think you're talking about this. The image doesn't show the design underneath the mean green name but should be the same one https://www.fanatics.com/college-north-texas-mean-green-north-texas-mean-green-nike-ko-fleece-pullover-performance-hoodie-green/o-27+t-12877303+p-461391569428+z-9-2722892512
  11. If we can't get our own people and alumni to care about sports then asking the city of Denton and around it to support is asking for a lot. Like with apathetic alumni the same applies to people not affiliated with the school....give them a reason to come...having a winning season won't do much...win and win big and consistently. You do that everyone takes notice and wants to try it out and come.
  12. If I ever need to go to that area I think Uber is a great option. Pretty convenient an inexpensive. In fact with Uber/Lyft etc I just think commuting to a lot of places just got that much convenient and easier.
  13. Forgive me if this has already been posted but per Brady Keane we should have the final results by 5pm today. Let's hope this sucker passes.
  14. As of now I'm going solo but the possibility of adding 2 more.
  15. SMU is a lateral move IMO. No I'm not a NT blowhard but outside of the DFW & older hardcore SWC fans, SMU doesn't move the needle at all. They're lucky their BBall program is doing great but other than that SMU isn't viewed as something great. All SMU has been able to do since the death penalty is still latch on to their old SWC affiliation and the fact that they have money and lots of it and some donors willing to do whatever it takes to get back to what they view as prominent. I think Morris kinda had a leg up even before coming to SMU...he came from a big time CFB program in Clemson, has been credited recruiting and developing Deshaun Watson and helping develop the what is now the Clemson juggernaut. SL on the other hand came from UNC but was/is nothing near what Clemson is. So I think even before coming to SMU & NT respectively I think Morris still had more of a leg up hype & viewpoint wise than SL IMO. If SL wants to leave then let him....my view of him wouldn't change one iota because such is life...people change jobs every day so they can get paid more, better opportunity etc and SL wouldn't be any different. As I previously said I'm more concerned about what WB has planned and prepared if that situation occurs than with SL leaving.
  16. If SL is mentioned as a possible replacement on every list then that means things are good and we're doing a good thing right now in FB. I wouldn't worry about it til it happens...I'll be more worried if WB is not ready with candidates and a quick/good replacement than about SL leaving.
  17. Flying out early Saturday morning. I'm pretty fortunate this time since my brother lives in NOLA and lives only about 15 mins from downtown. I'll crash at his place and I'll drive back with him the next day since he was planning on doing that anyways. For any of you that has the opportunity NOLA is a great place so you should definitely try to stay there a few days. Lot of great places to go and see and walk around.
  18. Yep. The negative perception comes from the absolutely suck coming from our athletics teams. You change that consistently the perception all of a sudden will increase.
  19. From the TV and pictures it really looks like a nice stadium and a place that'd be fun to watch a game. It might just be the colors of the seats that seem to make it more enhanced for me but yeah given FAU's location, they can definitely be a consistent good G5 team and build that fanbase & brand.
  20. Not a knock on FAU but I wouldn't be surprised if there's just as many if not more Temple fans at the game than FAU fans.
  21. 69-31 and 41-17 say otherwise. I really don't get how people can say only scheme and play calling is what led to this result. Why can't fans of all teams and sports just friggin admit and take a loss and say the other team just outplayed us and are just better than us. Somebody has to lose a game. It's a chess match folks...sometimes no matter the schemes results like these happen.
