Oh I agree but man this hire is a disaster. Our next coach will have to virtually start from scratch. It wont' be as hard as a decade ago probably but the work JJ put into this thing is close to crumbled if not already. Such a shame.

From knowing plenty of vegetarians, one would think they'd automatically be more healthier but that is far from the case.

He's definitely a lightning rod for some fans but man that's harsh. I think he'll be missed if only the reason what he was a part of during his time here.

To be a coach and successful coach you have to have an ego and coaches have the biggest ego's. They hardly a job is ever to big for them where they think they can't turn it around quickly. And frankly money talks. A bottom feeder AQ school can start at tripling his current salary at NT. Given his age and health problems his thinking might be, I can make one last run at a nice contract that adds plenty of more cushion to his retirement funds. Again none of us know what Mac is thinking but I'm not going to treat him any different than other coaches because more times than not, if better opportunity comes to go to a better job with significantly more pay, they will usually bolt and rightfully so.

If Aggies get Skladany it would suck but I trust in Mac and his ability to hire a good or comparable DC.

Given the needs of both teams it certainly benefits both. By no means is the lineup complete but a power hitting left handed 1B has been a need for this team since Tex left. I think this team is far from done. I think McCann sees Texas is serious and after Atlanta he may view Texas as his next choice. Getting Prince does not eliminate McCann or Choo. Texas has the money and more coming in. Afterall they're still a top 4 or 5 media market that's gotten 3 million fans the past 2 seasons. I'm ok with not getting Choo but McCann would be stellar. If there is a deal with STL I think it'll be a Profar from Taveres type deal. I think Elvis is a staple here despite the reports of him being on the market. He hasn't reached his full potential yet and his contract is a bargain for one of the best SS's in baseball. I would like to see Cruz resign for 3 years as a primary DH or fill-in OF'er from time to time. It's so early that I think there's a lot more to come from JD.

The casual fans know those schools especially Colorado St. I'd actually love to be in a conference with CSU. And if you win it won't matter who we're playing necessarily...people want to watch a winner. And IMO the MWC is the better conference.

The question is how much $$ will he see? I've stated before that the bigger name programs will start their salary offer at a million plus. We can give Mac a raise but realistically I can't see us going beyond 700k or 800k right now if even that.

That was the time when Butch's recruits were gone and the whole brawl fiasco with FIU happened. The program just went down and they let him go if I remember. From what I remember he didn't really get much attention when he was available from bigger name programs which seemed really surprising at the time.

I agree. A mid major program is probably just right for him at this point and all things considered he's done a commendable job. Ya I didn't realize he interviewed for the Rice job until a few days ago.

Doubt he'll ever get a shot at another bigger time program. He won his NC with Butch Davis' recruits. Not saying he's a bad coach but not going to get a big time job anymore. Hell he didn't get much after he was done at Miami.

Very surprising trade to hear. McCann is still in play and I'd like to resign Cruz for 3 years. Cano is a huge reach. Napoli is certainly out of the picture. So many possibilities here I cannot wait til the winter meetings. This is super exciting. But Kinsler will always mean a lot to this organization and city. I can't express enough gratitude to his contributions. I hope the best for him in Motown and hope he can get a ring sometime.
