  1. Brett Vito probably won't break it but sports media has pretty much gone national when it comes to breaking news. It's rare that I ever see local guys break anything that wasn't first reported by a more national outlet. It's just the way it is now.
  2. HoD. WSU worries me with their offense but I gotta think we have a chance to make it a good and competitive game as well as have a chance to beat all the 4 HoD teams you mentioned.
  3. Awful weather for people to go out in. A game at Apogee yesterday would have looked bad as well. Remember NT is 3 times bigger than SMU. I don't see how people fail to realize that attendance problems are inevitable for small private schools. Miami has always had attendance problems even when they were dominating.
  4. SMU is a fine institution as is UNT, UTD, TCU, UTA etc. They have good programs including their business school. While their MBA is really good I can't say I'd ever be willing to do it there at that cost. None of this really matters however. I don't get why so many are concerned with what they do or don't do. IMO I think they have to set realistic expectations. Instead of taking about competing with the likes of B12 schools athletically their bar must be lower and master that first before they can think about that next level. That's what I believe some of their fans are still really delusional about.
  5. Salary aside that program is astronomically better and in a better situation than before he got there.
  6. I don't know how to embed tweets on here but Carlos Harris' Twitter has a really cool picture of Apogee. https://twitter.com/CarlosDHarrisJr
  7. I'd like to play a team that people know but that we also have a realistic chance of making it a game and winning.
  8. Last time we played Portugal we beat them 3-2 I think about a decade ago. I've got a ton of ties to that country and it was great trolling the people I know that live there after that victory.
  9. Seattle isn't far from competing IMO. Just need a few more of their young bucks to figure it out and have their pitching improve. Cano is going to hate the fact that he goes from playing in a cupcake RF 81 times a year to Safeco. Seattle has money and isn't a small market. Also a great sports town.
  10. WHAT WHAT WHAT STOP WHAT WHAT !?!?!
  11. Robinson Cano to Seattle. 10 years 240 million.
  12. Not NT related but Chris Petersen is going to Washington. Watch out for the Huskies. http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/10088337/washington-huskies-hire-chris-petersen-boise-state-broncos
  13. I suppose what you guys feel about Sunny is what I thought when Pudge left from here. He's my favorite Ranger ever. To this day I actually still am a little bitter. He should have never worn another uniform but Hicks and John Hart ran him out. That being said however it was the best for Pudge to go elsewhere and be the integral part in the Marlins championship the next season and have some good years in Detroit. Luckily this organization has a great ownership group and front office team where winning baseball should be able to continue for the foreseeable future with a very strong nucleus and farm system in place. Many of us forget what this organization used to be.
  14. Quite a few trees in my neighborhood have had tree branches break off as well. One has come close to hitting my car but just missed it luckily.
  15. Wow that is just sorry of them.
  16. With Daley getting hurt Goose won't be going anywhere and he'll get to eat up quite a bit of ice time. Connauton was superb today and Val...what can I say...still amazing this kid is only 18 years old. The Daley injury looked pretty bad. I'd expect he'll be out for a little bit of time at least. In one way that could prove to be super beneficial and forcing Oleksiak and Connauton to play a lot more and every game while he's out. Bernier was just stellar today in net. He had a performance like Kari had against Chicago on Tuesday night.
  17. He had a lot of promise just a few years ago that just never panned out in Toronto. He can't play defense worth a lick but if he finds his bat then he may turn out to be something. I remember Texas having interest in a while back and even in some trade talks. As a last resort option I certainly do not mind him. Hopefully Alfaro continues to be on the fast track development wise tho he's still realistically at the very least a year and a half away of sniffing the bigs.
  18. That is totally fine and you're entitled to your opinion. We're having a discussion about baseball that is all. I gave you my thoughts and opinions and you said you wanted to piss on the Rangers. I simply wanted to know what things specifically did you or do you not agree with in terms of the decisions they made and why. Not really sure how the Yankees have made a mockery of free agency. They're not breaking any rules. The market is dictating salaries in baseball. While I do think the salaries are crazy in the sport, the market is dictating what these players are making. I guess I go back to thinking that this team has won 90+ games the last 4 seasons including 2 WS appearances. And despite all the crap and holes this team had in 2013 they still managed 91 wins. Yes they didn't win the division but I've accepted the fact that Oakland is one heck of a team. In all my years of being a die hard Rangers fan I just can't be anything but positive of what's happened since JD took over, what's happening now, and what's going to continue to happen with this ownership and front office. And again I hate to bring this up again but the winter deals are far from over. Lots of activity that will go on. The foundation is in place and super strong IMO. Hopefully once they start winning more games on the field you'll reconsider and have the desire to watch the great game at the temple.
  19. What specific turnover are you talking about from previous seasons? You'd be ok with giving Josh 125 million? Do you initially overpay Napoli like Boston was going to do last year when he can't catch anymore and you're putting your hopes on Mitch? Yes it all turned out well for Boston but after his super hot start he came back to reality and was what he's been most of his career. Do you want Michael Young back? I loved his service here but there wasn't anymore room for him anymore and the only way Wash couldn't play him anymore was for JD to get rid of him. I'm just really curious as to why you think the turnover has been for the worse. Remember we still have one of the best pitching staffs in the league. Let's not forget the guy who should be the face of the franchise for the next decade plus in Elvis. How about the greatness of Belts? Still a top 5 minor league system. Still a butt load of money in a top 4 media market. Oh and I can't believe I forgot to mention the Prince Fielder acquisition. And we haven't even reached winter meetings yet. JD is far from done. I'm sorry but it's a hell of a time to be a Rangers fan right now.
  20. I adopted Arsenal last year but I really haven't had as much time devoted to the EPL like I should have but now that the EPL games are being shown on NBC and NBCSN I should be much more in tuned.
  21. Work from home brah.
  22. I don't disagree but didn't SMU play in that bowl a few years ago? And they're both direct rivals. Maybe I am wrong but I don't see how TCU would have that much clout if they really wanted to invite NT. After all we would bring a lot of butts into Amon Carter and that has to be be real high on the AFB committee's list.
  23. I tend to agree. We all love what's happened this season but to get a major raise and extension I really think we have to see more than one 8 win season and a bowl appearance.
  24. Epic performance by Kari last night to defeat the Blackhawks.
