  1. If the Rangers ever moved to downtown and I could take the rail to games I'd probably buy season tickets without question and I think many people would that live in Collin County.
  2. Wandy Rodriguez. Never can have too much pitching.
  3. Not off to a great start
  4. Because Portland State is FCS I can see the coaching staff and players going all out to get a win but other than that I don't think this team is capable of winning anything the rest of the way. This feels like Todd Dodge levels all over again.
  5. While we're at it let's please not forget #FIREBENFORD
  6. Very winnable game tonight. Tolleson had no business being out there 4th straight night and I said that when Banny made that decision. Texas had their chances but couldn't capitalize. They have to take it tomorrow and jump on Santiago.
  7. I don't have reservations on Ruff necessarily but I think it's really important for Dallas to get off to a good start or at least good enough to where they're buried in the first month or so and they're trying to play catch-up the rest of the season especially in a very difficult west. I don't think Nill is the type to make a knee jerk move by a mid-season firing however it doesn't get off to a decent start I wonder how Tom Gaglardi will handle this. I've been critical of Curt Fraser for a while now but I really hope the PP can finally be lethal and consistent which it hasn't been.
  8. One more win or an Astros loss this weekend and Texas takes the division. Hope they can wrap it up tonight at home and since Houston is in Arizona their game starts an hour late so it'd be nice if they can win and celebrate in front of the home fans.
  9. Are hand signs even necessary?
  10. Haven't been there in a really long time but the Rally House in Plano on Park & Preston used to have a ton of good NT stuff. I may swing by there this week and see if it's still the case.
  11. As long as it's part of UNT - Denton and doesn't eventually veer off to be it's own separate campus then I'm all for it.
  12. If Anaheim wins tonight then regardless Texas has to split with them this weekend regardless if Texas wins or loses tonight against Detroit. The ideal of ideal situation is Texas winning tonight with Anaheim losing and only needing to win one game this weekend but I certainly don't expect that to happen.
  13. It's never easy at North Texas
  14. I've seen this written on the board quite a bit and while I don't disagree that could be some of the case I think at some point the BOR is ultimately responsible in righting this ship. While the 15 donors may be RV's good buddy I'm pretty sure they'd rather see their money donated/invested resulting into a better product than being buds with RV and having an awful product. Again I don't really walk in those circles but to me it just seems things aren't being done because as a university we just don't effing 'want' anything to be done.
  15. There's a reason why NT students and alumni are apathetic. Yes I don't deny previous administrations did a poor job in connecting with them but let's face it we've just sucked in the sports that people care about and get the most publicity and we as in the whole NT administration constantly fails to figure 'it' out.
  16. Of all the games I've ever been too for the Stars and Mavs I've never seen tailgating for AAC events but perhaps it's allowed but people just don't do them.
  17. Not that it matters much but I believe we're the 4th largest as UH is 3rd tho I may be wrong.
  18. I don't deny that some of our past administrations have not always made the right decision but at this point we've been D1/FBS for about 21 years or so and we still haven't really figured stuff out. At some point the the anus is on the current administration wanting to fix the problem.
  19. In no way shape or form should Napoli be in the OF. I don't really care about his right hand bat because I'll take my chances on pitching and defense 110% of the time. I'm fine if it's May or June but in September during a hard playoff push is absolutely the wrong decision by Banny regardless of outcome.
  20. This is why there are no standards at North Texas.
  21. The team will have to start well enough where they're not fighting to dig out of their hole created the rest of the season. If they really struggle out of the gate and goes on for a few months I can see Lindy getting the boot middle of the season. Personally not enough has been made about Fraser's job as the offense scores goals but it seems like it's never consistent with authority and the PP is always hit or miss. Defensively we know the talent just lacked here for many years so it's hard to really blame anything other than not being able to acquire talent for a long time.. At this point there's no excuse...it may not be a well oiled machine but they should be significantly better with the young players taking their share of lumps but that's completely fine by me. Bingo. The timing and place of Joe was nothing but a lose lose situation for him. When Joe arrived there was literally no young talent whatsoever in the organization. I guess Benn was but at the time I don't think the organization knew how good Benn was or was going to be. Despite the things you mentioned he was able to build the farm pretty well and stocked up on talent. That talent aided us in getting Seguin and Spezza and there's still lots of talented kids in the organization that should be contributors for this team now and in the future. Joe was great here for what he had to work with and he made a few decisions I didn't like but those just come with the territory and at the time I didn't fault him too much for decisions of Modano and Tippet even though those turned out to be disaster.
  22. To be fair his head coaching record tells us he doesn't really need to tell us that at all.
